Stanley has brought fry pans a long way from my early days when pans were sticky aluminum and folding handles were unreliable. These days, I really LIKE Stanley's designs and quality.

I too have been shying away from SS frypans because of the uneven heat issues. Looks like I have a nice option to go with my MSR seagull pots...Thanks for the video. Cooking potatoes like you just did is the way I test a good frypan as well..Great job.

Everything was great, mighty fine pan and you demonstrated/featured it very well. I prefer sea salt and black pepper on my fried potatoes, garlic hides the potato flavor for me and it doesn't go well on my stomach (for HOURS!!!). Enjoyed your well made video, great camera work!

Great review! Thank you so much for doing an unboxing and actual use. For measuring, I would turn it over and check the bottom, which is actually the working surface. If you measure from the top, that is just the opening, and not the cooking surface.

I really like my Stanley gear, good quality and lifetime warranty is hard to beat. I use my Mora knives for camping duty, but for food prep I prefer Opinel n°8. It's thin blade slices through food super easily and is quick to resharpen with a Spyderco sharp maker. Thanks for the review, I think it was thorough and fair. I appreciate your service and sacrifice.

Mine has a piece a aluminum sandwiched unto the bottom of the stainless base for even heat distribution. I have seasoned my stainless as well for no-stick cooking. Thanks for the video.

Ya know.....I like the look of this set. I cook a nice lunch on most of my hikes and always add fresh garlic at some point. The problem is where to chop it! I don't like to pre chop garlic because it gets funny. The cutting board is great, I'm not looking to prep for 100 people so small is perfect. The plates are a great place to rest food while you prep and cook other items (just gotta keep the dogs out of it). The trivet would be a good pot holder too. It looks like it does cook evenly, which is a problem with most backpacking stoves with a laser flame. Nice review. Svea 123 forever! Subscribed!

Just got one of these, was surprised at the weight, that completes my stanley trifecta, got the small pot with the cups, got the 1.6 qt cook pot and this, do you know of a good metal lid for the frypan?

Is the bottom magnetic? Stanley is really killin it with these all in one sets! What I would really like to see is something along the lines of the basecamp set that stows a 10" pan of similar construction around the large pot. As a stand alone this seems like a good solo or small group pan but I think the basecamp set needs something bigger.

+Thereal111t a magnet will stick to the bottom. A 10 inch would be sweet! Thank you!

JIUJITSU2000 so it would probably work on an induction stovetop... not that you'd have one of those in the woods but that's nice.

What is a good slim metal LID you would suggest for this pan?

Nice set indeed sir; however, a couple points to take under consideration... total weight for all 9 pieces is almost 2 & 1/2 lbs.....Stanley products have been Made In China since 2002.

Did you season the pan before cooking? If so do you have a video on it?? Thanks

I purchased this recently and the lid does not fit. Does anyone else have this issue? I got it specifically because it has the plastic lid so I can put it away dirty without it making a mess in my bag. I can see at the end of this video that when he puts the lid it looks like he can't get it on all the way. I turned the pan upside down with the lid on the ground and put all my weight on it and it still does not go on...just wondering if I got a bad one or if they are all like this?

dude you used it one time! you can basically only say its great for one time usage and not much more. how is it that the first 3 or 4 comments are always very positive and relatively senseless? is not just you its all the influencers out there.

I don't have this one. I will need to add it to my set. I like the length of the forks in the spork. I like to rinse my taters too. It keeps them from getting soggy. Hot rinse first and then a cold rinse. Thank you♥

There is in the Base Camp cook set. I think this kit was marketed just as a fry pan kit.
