#STANLEYNESS
I have the same set. I always bring it on my overnight canoe trips. Works great. And you really can’t beat the price of the stanley cooking series.
Have a few of the Stanley products in my camping kit, and this really looks like it would be a good addition to my chuck box to save some weight and shrink some things down even more.
Man you need to do more reviews. This is awesome and covered everything I need to know! I think this will be perfect for my catch and cooks. Thanks!
Stanley has brought fry pans a long way from my early days when pans were sticky aluminum and folding handles were unreliable. These days, I really LIKE Stanley's designs and quality.
I too have been shying away from SS frypans because of the uneven heat issues. Looks like I have a nice option to go with my MSR seagull pots...Thanks for the video. Cooking potatoes like you just did is the way I test a good frypan as well..Great job.
Everything was great, mighty fine pan and you demonstrated/featured it very well. I prefer sea salt and black pepper on my fried potatoes, garlic hides the potato flavor for me and it doesn't go well on my stomach (for HOURS!!!). Enjoyed your well made video, great camera work!
the extra plate options are always good to have. especially if you have more then one kind of meal to cook. acts as a serving platter etc.
I have been holding off buying a skillet. I, like you, like cast iron, but this is really the best of both worlds. Rust proof and even heating. I am sold and thanks for the review!
Great review! Thank you so much for doing an unboxing and actual use. For measuring, I would turn it over and check the bottom, which is actually the working surface. If you measure from the top, that is just the opening, and not the cooking surface.
I really like my Stanley gear, good quality and lifetime warranty is hard to beat. I use my Mora knives for camping duty, but for food prep I prefer Opinel n°8. It's thin blade slices through food super easily and is quick to resharpen with a Spyderco sharp maker. Thanks for the review, I think it was thorough and fair. I appreciate your service and sacrifice.
Great comment! Thank you!!
Stanley is really making a comeback, i'm seeing more and more Stanley cooking gear on the trail every time I go out, good stuff, good video.
+Pete McPherson thank you so much for the kind words and support that you give my channel and you're exactly right Stanley is doing some good things
Nice video. I've got the Stanley Two Cup Cookset and the French Press and they are great. Most of my other cookware are Trangia but this frypan looks more stout than the thinner Trangia.
Thanks for your service.
just ordered one. !!!!! love Stanley gear, solid reliable and fairly priced.
Glad I saw this. I’ve got some smaller/lighter gear for backpacking but this looks great for car camping when I want to keep it simple and not lug my cast iron. Thanks for the thorough review.
bereantrb thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. This is an excellent pan and the heat distribution is on par with cast iron. have a beautiful day
Great review! Those taters looked tasty. I have the adventure camp cook set an love it! You can't go wrong with Stanley stuff.
I really enjoy these reviews on Stanley products. I definitely need to get the fry pan.
picked one up this past Saturday,
LOVING IT
+Wil Standridge there a solid fry pan. I have a feeling that mine is going to get black I plan on cooking over a fire
Great review. I've watched it a few times and just returned from Menards where I purchased one. It is a very nice set. Thanks again for the review. It was helpful.
You don't see a lot of videos about quality backpacking fry pans. Looks like Stanley has a winner! I carry something very similar . . . the MSR Alpine fry pan. Mine has a piece a aluminum sandwiched unto the bottom of the stainless base for even heat distribution. I have seasoned my stainless as well for no-stick cooking. Thanks for the video.
Stanley, I still have a Stanley thermos I ran over with my truck ( don't ask) but it's over 20 years old! This set would make a good addition to that!! Great video, thanks from Maine!!
Thanks for the information! I'll pick one up. Its very important to find honest people who review things.
+Slim Notorious Thank you!
It's 18/8 or verbally, eighteen eight stainless steel. 18/8 is the most commonly used stainless steel and contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Thanks for this great spotlight of the product. 👍
Excellent review, thanks. Love that spatula design. What a nifty set.
Thank you for the review. I will definately trying this one. Currently I am using the summit skillet by jetboil.
Just ordered mine from Amazon for $36.95 and free shipping. I now will have a nice skillet for my hunting and fishing trips.
+MrOldclunker its a good set!
Perfect presentation. Very, very nice set. Definitely gonna order one😎✌️
+Sonny Dawn Thank you! It's very even heating
Had this set in my online cart, your video helped me decide. Thank you.
I am impressed ! I will add this one to my list thank you ! looks like a better frying pan than I use in my House ! that heat distribution is really good because the main heat was in the center yet all the pan cooked those potatoes ! and your a guy that likes My type of food !
ya can't go wrong with garlic salt on fried potatoes ! LOL
I love the look of that camping skillet and have to look for one to add to my camping collection. It would be better to use that than the cast iron skillets I have at home.
I'd like to buy that frying pan. The whole kit seems really nice, I like this set-up. Your stove seems perfect with this cook set.
Thank you for your in depth review. Helped me go ahead and invest in a set. Happy camping!
Man there’s a really nice set. I’d probably cook in that every day 😁👍 Great review brother
+Van Elicker Thank you brotha, I think I will too! Its very solid
@@jiujitsu2000 What stove is this, also..any secret to the butane being upside down?
Looks like a great canoe item. All in one shore lunch set.
I'm buying one today! Thank you!
Good video. I like the kit but I would rather have a stainless steel lid that especially since that would help save fuel and speed up the cooking time and I would also like the handle to be reversed the same as the other cook pots they make.
That’s the weak spot.
MSR seagull plate works as great lid and can nest if you modify the kit.
That’s the perfect size for cooking in my Jeep.
Always love the stuff Stanley comes up with
FSBushcraft nice stuff for sure!!
Great video. This is the kind of information people want when they are deciding whether or not to buy a product. You really highlighted the pros of this product, and your thorough approach leads me to believe there are few to none cons. That being said, I cannot abandon my own experiences, and will always be hesitant to buy Stanley products. This one does seem to be a winner though...
For such a great review, Stanley should supply you with a promo code for your viewers.
I have that fry pan. I love it. Almost nicer than my pans I have inside my house
wow very nice. stanly has awsome dishes. ive always liked there stuff. there getting better every year thanks for sharing god. bless
Thanks for the review. Something new to add to camping bag.
STOP!!! You're making my mouth water! I'm sold
Ya know.....I like the look of this set. I cook a nice lunch on most of my hikes and always add fresh garlic at some point. The problem is where to chop it! I don't like to pre chop garlic because it gets funny. The cutting board is great, I'm not looking to prep for 100 people so small is perfect. The plates are a great place to rest food while you prep and cook other items (just gotta keep the dogs out of it). The trivet would be a good pot holder too. It looks like it does cook evenly, which is a problem with most backpacking stoves with a laser flame. Nice review. Svea 123 forever! Subscribed!
idahomountainelk thank you! If you're ever bored take a look at my base camp cook set video
That was a good review I never seen this set before I'm sure with the Stanley Cup and pot set any could be rocking an amazing good quality cooking gear for camping.
I will be buying one 0f those. I have some Stanley stuff and love it. Thank you for your video!
+WADE REED it's an excellent pan for the money and the heat distribution Cooks your food very evenly lot of bang for the buck with this one
Awesome! I think I even mentioned in your last video that I wished they sold just the pain. Very very cool!
+AG Survival this one's for thou brotha!
Nice review kind Sir. Please tell me about the fluid mode you mentioned from your gas bottle. Kind regards.
Hi there , I have a question ,can I use this kind of pan on open wood fire because of the sandwich bottom ? Nice set anyway . Grrets Martin.
Oh buddy I love garlic powder/ salt on EVERYTHING,!!!! Awesome video ! 😻
Always liked the Stanley equipment good solid gear.
Great video brother. That is a really cool little kit. I have got to get me one.
Lucky dog you! Ive been waiting for them to come available in stores around here, cant wait to try one out!!!
+Bearded Seabee 82 Ha ha, they're excellent! Very good heat distribution. You can get them on Amazon now. I've got a link below. Thinking about giving one away soon. :-)
That looks like a really nice set! Will have to go find it so I can add it to my stash:) Excellent review! And it's a decent size frying pan also, I like that. Thumbs up my friend!
+The Peeping Egg thank you so much for the very kind words and support that you give my channel. This is a great hand works very well.
Great set. Have been looking at getting an SS fry pan for a while. for the money this seems like the best deal. closest competitor I found was the MSR pan and thats all it is just a pan so all that extra stuff from the stanley kit makes it a no-brainer
Thanks for the review. I am looking for a good outdoor frypan. Have you tried to fry eggs? Because eggs are really the test on a frypan.
Been hearing good things about the Stanley camp cookware.
I do like that kit. I have the Pathfinders fry pan with the stainless steel cover. Pans are almost the same. Nice video.
+flpirate45 The pathfinder skillet is excellent! Thank you!
that is really nice set
I'm going 2 try to find one
by the way at 8 : 50 seconds in
you mention wet water
is there a dry water anywhere?
😆 Dry water? That prompted me to look it up. There actually is such a thing as dry water. It's actually an extremely small droplet of water encased in silica. Looks like table salt. There is also such a thing as heavy water. You don't want to back pack heavy water; too heavy.
Probably only in a dry wine.
Lots of sailors run back and forth over the ship, fetching buckets of steam, on their first voyage at sea!
Yeah. I'm selling dehydrated water for ultralight backpackers.
1gallon - $4.99. (less than 1/2 oz)
All you have to do is ad water.
Very nice brother great review as always my friend I really like this set I appreciate the fact that you review budget items and are not like a lot of the other RUclipsrs that only review high-end stuff thank you so much I really mean that with all my heart thank you and I love your channel brother
+ONETIME OUTDOORS Dj Rayner thank you so much four the kind words and support you've given my channel!
High end stuff not for me, thanks for vid good job(onions and taters yeah)
How do you test heat distribution of frying pan by frying potato? Cooking pancake, bacon or steak would make good heat distribution test.
That's a great cook set that I hadn't seen. I will be purchasing it to give it a try. I certainly don't mind the plastic specially for the price. There's the Must be metal and there's the Must be cast iron groups, but plastic is ok b/c I would just buy a new set for the price.
Stanley isn't the most expensive camp cookware. Thank you for the review.
+Tina Gallagher thank you!
I was looking for a good camping Stainless steel pan last year and settled for the Primus pan. This Stanley kit looks to be a better choice since everything is included. lol , I got a tickle out of your wet water statement at the 8:44 mark.
That looks like a nice little set sir! Stanley has some awesome products.
+James McIntyre Its solid brotha! Hope all is well
JIUJITSU2000 Yeah everything is good bro.
+James McIntyre Sweet!!
All that kit for less than the price of a single Jetboil skillet..
Great review, man! I love the Stanley product line for cooking but I don't have their frying pan. I was going to buy an MSR Alpine but I think the Stanley set will be a better buy plus it includes all of the extra items that MSR offers individually so costs is a deciding factor. By the way, thanks for your service, Brother, and I know all about KP duties as well...LOL.
+Alexander Weaver Thank you! It was fun! I really lime the Stanley
Potwierdzam!
I wish I could donate some stanley products to you.
@@sparklefab890 Of course I would be happy to take anything
Great review. Very professional and you just sold me on this kit.
+Allan Cross thank you the Heat distribution of this pen is very good
Approximately, how much of the gas do you think you used up for cooking the potatoes?
I have chopped up beef jerky and dehydrated onions added it to the potatoes a little water at the end with a lid let it steam stir it up and chow down with a couple eggs on top..
Stanley does it again.
I didn't know I wanted one until I saw this! Thanks! ☺
The only thing that I would change would be swapping the plastic lid for a metal one.
+Dave Dettinburn exactly!
pathfinder makes an 8 inch pan with a metal lid. i dont know if its exactly the same size and if it is with the metal lid it most likely wont fit the cutting board, if and only if it the same size. or if the pan performs the same or not. here is the link if you are interested: www.selfrelianceoutfitters.com/products/pathfinder-stainless-steel-folding-skillet-with-lid-set?variant=27770155777
@@jiujitsu2000 Any update, did it warp or fail?
Like anything better ?
That's a cool little setup....all u need in one box
+ADA Alabama Discoveries and Adventures its very nice!
Does the plastic lid pop off all the time when in backpack while hiking
Great review. I might have to get this for my BOB or INCH bags.
You should cook em up in bacon grease, or bits of bacon with a pinch of garlic powder and a pinch of onion powder. Tastes amazing.
Hi Jijitsu2000. Just came across your channel. Thank you for the review. 32 oz might be a little heavy for a backpacking cook set. This would probably be good for backcountry anglers. On the other hand, stainless steel is very durable. My wife and I do hammock camping if we go into the Bush. I caught your Navy comment. HMC(SW), USN, ret. Wife HM1(AW), USN, ret.
I'm gonna buy that! Greetings from Victorinox-Land! ;)
I like it, think I'll have to get it. Thanks for the review..... just missing some onions to toss in them taters
I'll be modifying that long handle to fit the adventurer cup as well, giving it a longer reach has to be a safety plus right? :-D
Fry those skins up with some butter and herb/spice, nice little snack 🤘
Excellent! Try to put the garlic salt when the potatoes are almos done, that way you wont burn the garlic. 😉
So true! Thanks
Good review. Well done on the cooking as well.
Walter Holland thank you!!
Glad I got my set when I did...cause there is no cookware on their website now!
I'm sold. Going to order two next week. Thanks
Very nice pan. Feel free to check out my "stanley" playlist and look for the "basecamp" video...
ruclips.net/video/1aHOktpC3p4/видео.html
You made me hungry, going to go buy this set or the base camp set and make some grub
Definitely gonna look into that little set go my bug out location
As a young man in the Army, you get to mop and polish floors.
Never question the ability of anyone who’s spent even 4 years in the Army to make your floors look Awesome 👍🏻
Oh, there’s the ability to shoot people too… but, whatever 😄
Great review... you said your burner is a whisper light universal??
Just got one of these, was surprised at the weight, that completes my stanley trifecta, got the small pot with the cups, got the 1.6 qt cook pot and this, do you know of a good metal lid for the frypan?
Good review. I like the looks of this set.
+Jeff swiney it's definitely one of my favorites feel free to check out my base camp cook set video, it includes this pan
Is the bottom magnetic? Stanley is really killin it with these all in one sets! What I would really like to see is something along the lines of the basecamp set that stows a 10" pan of similar construction around the large pot. As a stand alone this seems like a good solo or small group pan but I think the basecamp set needs something bigger.
+Thereal111t a magnet will stick to the bottom. A 10 inch would be sweet! Thank you!
JIUJITSU2000 so it would probably work on an induction stovetop... not that you'd have one of those in the woods but that's nice.
What is a good slim metal LID you would suggest for this pan?
Nice set indeed sir; however, a couple points to take under consideration... total weight for all 9 pieces is almost 2 & 1/2 lbs.....Stanley products have been Made In China since 2002.
Did you season the pan before cooking? If so do you have a video on it?? Thanks
I purchased this recently and the lid does not fit. Does anyone else have this issue? I got it specifically because it has the plastic lid so I can put it away dirty without it making a mess in my bag. I can see at the end of this video that when he puts the lid it looks like he can't get it on all the way. I turned the pan upside down with the lid on the ground and put all my weight on it and it still does not go on...just wondering if I got a bad one or if they are all like this?
wow the Whisper lite universal flame is pretty adjustable!
It's an excellent stove!
dude you used it one time! you can basically only say its great for one time usage and not much more. how is it that the first 3 or 4 comments are always very positive and relatively senseless? is not just you its all the influencers out there.
I don't have this one. I will need to add it to my set. I like the length of the forks in the spork. I like to rinse my taters too. It keeps them from getting soggy. Hot rinse first and then a cold rinse. Thank you♥
+shlisa shell Thank you! God bless you
Very nice review! Thanks!
Why not a lid you can use cooking ?
There is in the Base Camp cook set. I think this kit was marketed just as a fry pan kit.
