@@AndyMumford i wouldn't say better Andy, just different. While your approach might be more classic it is top notch both in presentation and end result. I for once am very glad I discovered this channel during my early steps in photography 4 years ago.
I’m here because of Tame Impala’s Slow Rush Album Cover. ☮️🔮👌 it’ll be an amazing experience for me to just walk around in the buildings while listening and vibing to his music album. P.S. I Subscribed to your Channel. 👌
I can remember when my parents used to go for dances in Kolmannskuppe. And Pastor Rust, who married my parents and christened me in the Felsenkirche in Lüderitz, used to walk from Lüderitz to Kolmannnskop to visit members of the congregation there. There's also a skittle alley where the balls were still out of wood!!!😊❤
Just amazing images and location, that early morning sunrise image with the orange glow was really beautiful. Many thanks Andy for sharing your brilliant work.
Amazing stuff Andy. I used to have a bucket list of locations but now the only bucket list item I have is to get on an Andy Mumford workshop! Always a pleasure, cheers
What an amazing place. There's so much to tell that you really feel the place so much that you can imagine the people still talking through the walls or the children playing around. Thanks for such great review of the place and for making it feel so much personal.
i'm here after watching fallout tv series... after played the game & saw this town several years ago, i was always thinking that this place is suitable for fallout live action film and it happened!
excellent work, truly amazing shots, I love these type of abandoned places since I saw a nice documentary on Pyramiden, the abandoned town in the Svalbard...
Not sure if i’ll ever get there, but from the first time i saw images of it, i have been really intrigued. The shades of colors you’ve captured - oh my God those are gorgeous! Brilliant video.
Watching this again because the images are so gorgeous, and your narration so helpful. A friend is considering a GFX so i’ve forwarded this to him. Cheers!
A really wonderful video and stunning images! You have captured the whole area so elegantly! I had such a great time at this place last year , there is sooo much potential!
Great location and content, with some very useful pointers, as always. As much as I enjoy landscapes and cityscapes, I also like to photograph abandoned and spooky places. While not abandoned, the overgrown graves and tombs in London's Highgate Cemetery gives Highgate an abandoned, spooky feel. The Paris Catacombs can also be a source of some pretty creepy images. Both locations are readily accessible.
Thanks for the comment. This is the only place I've ever tried these kind of images...it's certainly challenging, and it's the kind of place where a collection of images together work better than a single image on it's own
Andy I have seen many images from this location but you have hit it out of the park with this one, simply stunning images, thank you so much for sharing.
Hey Andy, stunning images mate. Can I ask why you didn't use your GF20-35? I would have thought the flexibility of the zoom in those tight places may have the better choice. Interested to know as I've got the 23 but have the 20-35 on order. Cheers.
Thanks for the comment. Some of these images were shot last year when I didn't have the GF20-35mm. I'd originally intended to make this video during that trip, but the video I made of me speaking got corrupted so I decided to remake it on this year's trip. However I still used some of the images and b roll I shot last year. This year I didn't take the GFX as I was testing out the XF150-600mm, which is a massive lens, and carrying that alongside the GFX system was too much, so I just too the smaller cameras.
An outstanding series of images in this video. Always good for a photographer to mix things up, in my opinion. Question: did you have to use a tilt-shift lens in order to get your door frames square/or parallel in series as they receded in the background to create a sense of depth? If not, what lens did you use?
Thanks so much for the comment. A tilt-shift would have been useful here, as well as a geared tripod head, but no, I just used a regular wide angle lens. The lens for each image is shown in the bottom left corner throughout the video (except when I show them again at the very end of the video), but basically I used the GF23mm for the images I shot with the GFX100S and the XF10-24mm for the images I shot with the X-T5.
Saw an documentary about it years ago, been on the list ever since. The good thing is that it is so difficult and expensive to get to that the normal influencers will not go there and ruin it (I hope).
You’re easily one of the best landscape photographer i’ve seen on the internet! Truly inspiring ❤
Thanks so much, but there are MANY better landscape photographers than me

Complimenti belle foto e pure la musica raccontano la storia delle persone che ci hanno vissuto e il declino inesorabile della città 👋👋.

Fantastic work.
Really wish I could afford one of your workshops and see those places myself.

The picture at 6:23 is my favorite. The desolate scene embedded in such warm light really evokes a certain emotion, absolutely stunning!
Thanks so much, that room is really great with the pre-dawn light

Wow, that's fascinating. The town has been pretty much abandoned for over 50 years, but you can still very much see how life would have been there

Fuji Lenses seem to be high quality too.

@@AndyMumford I hope it will not get ruined, as it is from your photos an place worth preserving - until the sand take over.
Whaat happened to the hyena family that lived there?
Is this a Fallout thing? Weird to see the series shot there
@@AndyMumford No. The BBC had a part on a famuly of rare striped hyenas living in the deserted town. No sign of them in this video.
Fallout serries will be filmed here. no need for CGI
Someone else mentioned that…is that true?
@@AndyMumford Definitely! NY , Las Vegas, Kolmanskop and Utah. Good work , btw !
