Hundreds of guys passed me and my brother in law- saying "damn-i wish i thought of that" as we sat in our portable "coleman/eddie bauer" folding chairs on the curb of main street during the hot late afternoons. sunscreen,water,good attitude.
I carry actually two of the little bitty lawn chairs that fold down into a bag if it right in my saddle bag one for me and my son

Good advice... He forgot to mention "sunscreen" you'll need it. I also like to carry some brand of "moist wipes" (baby wipes) for your hands, and face. There's not much worst than riding with an itchy ass. When I went to the Sturgis Rally back in 2013 the weather was perfect for the whole week. I didn't need a jacket at all. It wasn't cold at night or the morning. I did need a rain suit (didn't have one) we got wet on one afternoon ride. I did not carry water, all through the Black Hills there are vendors set up to serve riders. We're going again this year. Staying at Hog Heaven Campground.

#11 make sure your insurance covers hail storms
Thanks for sharing. I learned the hard way. Carry lots of water with you. Some other idiot might not of brought any. Look out for the hail/rain storms!

A Harley-Davidson song. Horseshoe oil tank, Tombstone tail light, can of raviolis in the saddlebags, a Slicker for the rain, a canteen full of water,
And something for the pain.
A pocket knife, black electrical tape and small vice grips really helps if you are driving a Harley! Was there in 2009 and these items often got me home! My bike vibrated a lot and I'd loose something, like my shiifter! 😂
You need an EZ-Up for shade, and a good hangover cure.
Hi. What about sunglasses. Do I need sunglasses or goggles while riding with or without a helmet.

Also, an extra pair of boots. Once you get one pair wet you will have hell getting them dry!!

J&P Cycles is always a stop for us. New LED headlight on the list. The list is long.
For older bikes that have a stereo line-in and cigaret lighter/power port, don't have the MP3/Phone constantly connected to power. The charging system may not handle it. Unplug for a couple hours!

He failed to mention the need for more ego ad vanity then brains or riding skill so I'm disappointed. Shout out to all the "Harley Lifestyle" types who trailer their rides to Sturgis. That's the spirit!
My advice is buy a decent bike , not an outdated v twin. Second, go somewhere, where there is something going on, besides a parade of fools! Maybe if you do some research, you can find a pro motorcycle race like the old days of Laconia or Reading !

One correction on his backpack or roll bag or whatever Make sure it's a dry bag One year maybe 100° and not rain the whole 10 days the next year it's going to rain every single day so even a simple backpack make sure it's a dry bag. Mine is also a hydro bag so I have a water bag on my back at all times The 100° heat drink water not alcohol
YOU FORGOT gun knife pepper spray and machete! also forgot you will need a motorcycle with that water.
