@@timcarter817 he would get destroyed in a cash game all day long and twice on Sunday. Tournaments require little skill to win. I was actually very happy Jamie won, he put on a hell of a show.
Jamie was very entertaining! He was the right type of player for the hands he was getting... He never really did anything idiotic, fot out of line, or tried to make hero calls... He was able to raise with premium hands and hit them, then he'd play a 78, J-10, KJ for moderately afforable and hit it... He never let off the gas and tried to coast into the top 27, top 18, never tried to coast into the final table, or up any ladder... He had a dominate chip stack and used that incredibly creatively to keep building... Honestly if each ladder step after 20 is worth the equivent of a major tournament win, its not easy getting into hands with Jamie when you are in 7th chip position with 25 players left... Everybody knew he was calling bets with J-9, 5-8, any pocket pair, 3-6 suited... It would have been very tough putting him on hands, and everybody knows that guy on a particular day or week who is hitting everything! If you are 5th in chip position with 14 players left with AA, and the flop is 8-9- J and you have AA, and Jamie raises you All-in after your flop bet, its not easy to call... Especially with 3 or 4 very short stacks... Even if he shows you 8-10, or even or a 4 flush draw with 4-7. You could easily wait out 3 eliminations for an extra $400,000-$500,000... I played in the Main in 2005, and a few other events. Got 2nd in event #36 in 2005 to Todd Whittles, won the LA Poker Derby in 2006, and 05 $1000 event made the final 2 tables and got eliminated on a crazy bad beat, and the one thing you have to understand in those tournaments is 'What these players financial situation are'.... The bad beat- I 3 bet pre with 99 middle position, a guy tanked, called, original raiser called flop came 6s 7s 8s, I had 2 black 9's (overpair and straight flush draw) original better bet out very light, I went all-in, the middle aged man tanked, from the beginning I put him on 10-10, A-Q, AJ, or A-10 suited (it was played different back then) he tanked and tanked, I was sure he had 10-10 or A Q with the spade. He called, original better folded, I said "10-10?" spade? He confidently flipped over J-7 diamonds... before I could even process anything or what shape I was in, the turn was 7! I still had a straight and flush draw and a 9, I had 17 outs on the river... but I was in shock at the call pre, the call after the flop, the 7 turn, river was an ace... I would have had top 5 chip stack... Those are true bad beats... its not getting beat with AA vs QQ, the guy with QQ did everything right... The real bad beats are when a guy like Mr. J-7d should have folded even before a raise, 100% folded to a raise, and 100000% should have folded to a 3 bet... and 10000000% should have folded to a bet and then All-in after the 6s 7s 8s board with Jd-7d. Really subtle how perfectly he chose his words on that last hand. "If you don't have a queen then I got ya." On that flop that could easily mean Jamie has middle pair (8s) top kicker, leading wasicka to think his tens are in the lead.

If Wasicka calls the all-in, I'm pretty sure Binger folds (he went all-in after Wasicka folds), so Wasicka was not guaranteed 2nd place money. I would've called the straight flush draw, but Binger would've folded the hand if Wasicka called because he was 3rd in chips and if Wasicka gets knocked out, he would've been guaranteed 2nd place.
Pot odds alone say a 39% or higher chance is profitable, without all the rest of that stuff added in. I guess the real question is, "Was Alan in an A - x all-in spot?" And how much does Alan's superior poker knowledge and Jaime's stack size factor into those odds.
Listening to him talk like he’s actually good at poker is hilarious. He was as close to a movie script set deck as anyone I have ever seen. Just incredibly lucky in every critical pot
Epic final table! The champion's level of performance was off the charts. The remainder of the participants performed somehow solid. Interaction is impossible at the same time when you're playing (live) poker though i would be reluctant to interact with such a pot stirrer as Jamie Gold. It's an no brainer otherwise your stack will be ruined. I can still be respectful towards each opponent even though i'm ignoring him or her that stirs the pot! In which way did he go downhill?
The difference between 3rd and 2nd was several million dollars. He was meta gaming. At this point Gold had such a massive chip lead that he just wanted to get the extra money.
Wasicka should have thought about it. Only way he doesnt get 2nd place money is if Jamie beats his hand, but doesnt have enough to beat Binger. I guess you could fold. Jamie could have a weaker 10, wasicka mises his draw, but Binger triples up and Jamie takes side pot. As played only way Wasicka doesnt get 2nd place money is if Jamie were to have hit a 3 or a 4 for just a pair that hand. Binger wins main, Jamie wins side and knocks out Wasicks.
in the last hand wasicka never said all in or call. I think you talked me into it is not a call he accepted it anyway. would like to know the ruling on that one.

Unnecessary Username he might almost have to call that even if Jamie showed him a set, I think that may be one of the worst folds I’ve ever seen
It never hurts to have
Johnny fucking Chan as a teacher and on your side
wonder what he got paid....
27:29 I can’t justify that call. 57%/43% is the best Jamie can be in that situation
Pot odds alone say a 39% or higher chance is profitable, without all the rest of that stuff added in. I guess the real question is, "Was Alan in an A - x all-in spot?" And how much does Alan's superior poker knowledge and Jaime's stack size factor into those odds.
did they seriously remove all the espn coverage of all the old main events? literally vanished from the internet.
PokerGo got it all.
Wasika calls that open-ended str8 flush draw, it's a different game!
Stephen Parkinson it was kinda dumb for him not to call when you think about it.
2 mistakes when it got shorthanded alan not calling wasikas all in and wasika not calling with straight flush draw
john Weller I`d say Allans raise with 10s is way worse than his fold to the 3b allin from Wasicka.
it was a horrible fold considering the situation.
He was waiting for a better spot. Flushes get counterfitted by a paired board constantly
Was Jamie Gold ever all-in for his tournament life???
I think he said he was once early in the tournament
Listening to him talk like he’s actually good at poker is hilarious. He was as close to a movie script set deck as anyone I have ever seen. Just incredibly lucky in every critical pot
💯. Human luck box. Tons of mistakes payed off with luck and he was ignorant with some of his table talk. Top top hand was just ridiculous
still dont know how wasicka folds here. literally cannot get much better spot ever.
34:20 Wasicka had no business folding that. WTF was he thinking?
All that money...gone. The entire LA game was based on Jamie Gold
At least he put it back into the poker community.
Wasika never says call on the last hand Jamie flips over his cards
Epic final table! The champion's level of performance was off the charts. The remainder of the participants performed somehow solid. Interaction is impossible at the same time when you're playing (live) poker though i would be reluctant to interact with such a pot stirrer as Jamie Gold. It's an no brainer otherwise your stack will be ruined. I can still be respectful towards each opponent even though i'm ignoring him or her that stirs the pot! In which way did he go downhill?
“How lucky am I”
Dude is broke LOL

How can Paul fold open end straight flush at final tables when he had second in chips
The difference between 3rd and 2nd was several million dollars. He was meta gaming. At this point Gold had such a massive chip lead that he just wanted to get the extra money.
@@mattbenz99 people fold pocket aces preflop before a pay bump when that kind of money is on the line
Could have been 3rd place money. Good fold
It’s a bad fold
Jamie, don’t listen to the childish keyboard warriors. You’re awesome in every way possible.
Eating your food was like your dad
Jamie was so broke he took 100 bucks for this gig
lol
I will write his book for $300 and he can have half the profits. He is a sucker
I think if tour your hand without saying fold its a call
@@mathieucaron4990 I do not think this is true.
There is a rule called "accepted action"
@@r.w.221 I played a lot of live poker i would never flip my card without say fold if its not a fold because if I flip without a word pretty sure it's a call
Question: I am at the Wynn and on the river I check to my opponent. He thinks for a minute and with a sigh and without saying a word pushes his cards forward and releases them to the dealer causing one card to flip and be exposed showing a nothing 4h. I had flopped a set with Kings. I think he has mucked his cards and I start to push my cards forward. Then the dealer grabs my cards and draws them forward and leaving opponent cards in the middle of the table and I say wait "he mucked his hand". The dealer thinks for a second and says no you mucked and the opponent had exposed his hand. I say no he mucked to you and in doing so flipped over only one card that appeared to be done accidentally. Dealer still has my cards under his fingers. I say flip my hand and he does showing the set. I said, "You should have taken his cards first". Dealer calls Floor and Floor listens to Dealer and gives the pot to opponent. Who was right? Was I scammed? Thanks
Gold just hit all the hand he played simple is that and surprise surprise he won

How is first only 12 million when the collected entry fees was almost 100 million, shouldn’t first have been at least 20%?
They pay out top 10% and u get at least 20k for min cash. A lot of tourneys do like 1.5 x min cash.
They have to pay alot of people and the casino takes a huge bite out of the prize pool. Vegas always wins. The players always lose in the long run it's called gambling
Did Jamie give Johnny chan any money for his tutoring and cheerleader i wondering
Idk if I would fold a straight flush draw for all my chips ...
That's why that would be the last hand you saw in the tournament
I still cannot believe Wasika dumped his Straight Flush draw on a three way all in. Man, you gotta forget the numbers sometimes if you want to be a legend.
Wouldn't Wasicka still have gotten second place money even if somehow JG won the hand? I mean what is Wasicka avoiding? He has to have a good chance to win the hand and if he doesn't and Gold wins he gets second place. He had Bing covered so he would still be there if Bing won. Right?
Yes. He blew it. 2nd place if he loses, triple up if he wins.
@@PoppysGuitar Bing wasn't committed all-in when it was Wasicka's turn to act. Bing called the all-in after Wasicka folded, so we wouldn't know if Binger would've called or not had Wasicka called.
doesn't really take skill to win..maybe 50% skill....if u get the cards and luck u can win WSOP like moneymaker or gold...i like how he talks them tho...interesting....him and tony G at the table would be great
7s8s hand....call that 100% with that chip stack. Worst case 2nd place $. Best case we don’t have a video of this guy. His explanations make no sense haha.
Ah, 2006: the year of the donkey.
2007 was worse lol Yang was by far worse than Gold
7:59 So many idiots saying Jamie got lucky, but he had a lot of bad beats in this tournament
The truth is that Jamie's WSOP 2006 win was the most commanding and authoritative main event win of all-time.
Jamie played the Main Event with total virtuosity. He barely made a mistake in 7 days
Worst case Wasicka would have gotten second regardless if he lost. With a draw like that you can’t get your money in any better on a flop like that.
Not if Binger wins the hand. He would be in bad shape.
Gambling all in on a draw is a losing predicament most of the time if the opponent has a hand.
after watched this I believe I can win wpt. any donkey can becomes a stallion.
That’s 2006 poker for you lol much much tougher today
Jamie was acting like if he lost the final hand he didn’t have 99% of the chips still left....
Jamie was an above average ballsy player, aggressive, the type of player that can make a deep run in a huge field... just not a guy that'll will ever be successful in a cash game. Cash game players will eat away at him with huge hands and slim value calls and bets.
He folded 78 spades to this fish, he deserved and was destined to lose.

I don't understand all this hero talk about Allen Cunningham. At times he played like shit against Jamie, he was very inconsistent.
Ultimately Jamie crushed him, just like he did to the other 7,000 players.
Wasica laying down straight flush draw man and he would win the hand and had a huge stack
You don't put him on a 10. and You don't put him on a set. Then your Paired Q on the end had to be good. You've basically put him on Air or a Jack according to your own commentary, but then you claim you don't want to bet the end because the only things he has beat you. Gold contradicts his own statements during the same hand several times.
