      They said in the first couple of episodes their job was to escort/guard Liko from her school to her house and they will get paid by the mom. This is how they make money to do research so there will most likely be more requests for them to get people/Pokémon/cargo from 1 place to another totally loving that money is actually important now unlike ash era where it was hardly brought up and some stuff made no sense.

    YO-SSU! This was another great episode in my opinion,the slice-of-life moments in pokemon horizons just keep getting better and better. And honestly,we saw more paldean stuff in this episode than in galar.
    We get see liko's family issues in full display and how worried she is about her journey coming to an end,how she struggles to open up to her dad,but I really like her confidence in the end when,with sprigatito by her side,she worked up the courage to tell her father what she wants to do.
    The anime has also swayed my opinion twice in this episode and the preview,cause nemona and fidough both look super good in the anime! I love how adorable fidough is ❤️.
    Overall this episode is an 8/10 for me.

    The rising volt tacklers were literally paid to be Liko's bodyguards and bring her back to Paldea.
    Liko and them becoming united enough to consider her part of the team in the process doesn't mean that their mission didn't matter anymore.
    I don't see how is weird that they thought Liko was going to leave after they arrived to Paldea.
    Friede clearly knew that Liko wanted to stay with them but he can't go against the people who hired him. That's why he waited until Liko asked her father on her own to let her travel with them. Even interrupting Roy when he was about to say that Liko was part of rising volt tacklers for this exact reason.

    Thid episode is to see now that Liko got used to the live with the Raising Voltacklers what she will do next. And some people can also relate to it. Living on a new setting is amazing at first, then it becomes a part of you, but when that day comes, when you have to choose between new normal or back to normal, is hard to get out of the comfort zone and once you do it you are torn between what you can have ahead or stay where you are comfortable.

    Great review
    Fidough is SUPER ADORABLE!!! I like Liko’s development, where she started off as quiet but now in this episode, she is starting to use her voice to get what she wants (when Liko told her father that she wanted to go to Rising Volt Tackler)
    I am very interested to see Nemona. I’m curious on whose rival she is. I think she is Liko’s rival. But both Liko and Roy hasn’t shown any desire or inspiration of completing the gyms but I am very interested.

      Liko and Roy could do gym battles to train and get stronger. Especially when they'd have to face against the Explorers, again. Including those that are stronger than Amethio.

    I also thought the implication that Liko could leave came quite sudden, but I guess it's part to finish the "bodyguard plotline" and part to give Liko a bit more agenda.
    Since her character is shown to be a bit indecisive and looking for her place to belong, it is actually quite nice to see her take initiative with her future. I mostly thought it was weird that Friede didn't react at all to that storyline, even though he was there the whole time.
    Like, wouldn't you normally need permission from the leader?^^" I guess she might have asked Molly and Orio (Fire hair btw).
    I'm a bit nervous how long they'll stay in Paldea since they are based on an airship, travelling long distances seems to be in the focus.

    • @EliteTrainerMark
      @EliteTrainerMark  Год назад +1

      It does seem different to Journeys where Ash & Goh could be anywhere in the world in just a few minutes, whereas the Rising Volt Tacklers can't travel as fast. So they probably will travel all over, just not at the same frenetic pace as we saw in Journeys

    • @DiaArtCreativity
      @DiaArtCreativity Год назад

      @@EliteTrainerMark I actually only watched half of Journeys😂 I lost interest after a while, so I don't completely get the comparison. But I am always happy for some fluff on the Airship between episodes or like mini story arcs between big ones on islands in between, like with Roy only a bit bigger.

      I could see most episodes take place in Paldea, due to the pendant, shiny Rayquaza, Terapagos, and possibly Professors Sada and Turo. Most episodes in Journeys took place at Kanto, mainly Vermillion City. I'm still surprised lot of content and characters from Galar got shafted....

  • @masen2701
    @masen2701 Год назад +8

    Ok, so as I see the situation at hand. Liko "joined" the volttacklers yes, but remember that she is only a kid (cannot make her own decisions) and the volttacklers had a mission to bring her home. So up until now Liko has not really made her own decision of what to do with her life. She has been under her parents wings and was even sent to Kanto under their wings to presumably be more independent under guidance of teachers (and pokemon). The parents might have either had news of her being in danger or regretted their decision since they sent the volttacklers to retrieve her, but we do not know the reason behind yet. Also a bit weird that they did not just send a message for her to get home on her own, but all that is another topic. As a viewer we get all and everything (information) handed to us, all this information can in my eyes paint a false picture of a situation. Liko "joined" the team, the team wanted her to, so ofc she is on the team. When in fact people wanting something is not the same as things actually happening. An example is that for Roy to join he needed permission from his grandfather, again he is only a kid. So when I myself take the approach of looking only at seperate information and I take the perspective only from one side at a time, then I come to the conclusion that both Liko and the Volttacklers want her to join but she has not been allow yet by her parents. This also makes sense if you look at Friedes way of handling everything in this episode. He distracts when Roy tells Likos father that she is part of the crew. He does this because he knows that this has never been her or their decision, but a decision to be made between Liko and her parents. The timing is simply off and he knows this.He insted takes a slower approach by letting the father himself ask into her well being and how she has been acting in Friedes perspective. Friede wants to slowly poke the fathers wishes of his daughter to align her fathers wishes with the wish from both her and the volttacklers for her to join in adventures. He is actually in my eyes trying to manipulate the father. The next day Friede actualy gets the time to speak to her father about Liko and her adventures. A side note is that it seems like the father has huge trust in Friede (maybe an earlier relation?) also explains why when Friede is fine with Liko being on her own, so is the father after seen Friede being calm about it. For a parent to let go of their child, it is a huge deal and you see it on the father, but he accepts this after all the information and Liko making her intentions know to her father. I know it might not be in the culture and that Liko is introvert, but damn I wished for a hug between her and her father after he told sprigatitto to look after her.
    For me the show so far has shown good depth and a good understand of the differences between children and adults. Yes both can act in ways not fit, but in generel :)
    So to sum it up, I think that you have assumed too much from too much information. We get the bigger perspective with some thoughts from Liko as well, it is easy to forget every different perspective seperated.
    But I have loved all of your reviews of the episodes so far, you make a good analysis with your own personal perspective mixed in (most important for me). Pls keep it up! I look forward to both every episode and your reviews every week :)
    I hope you can follow my thought process throughout my ranting :)

      I agree with most of what you said, and I think they could have approached this episode differently and I would have liked it better. But it does show us that Liko can now make these decisions on her own, and she is capable of taking that big "first step" as her grandmother talked about

      I thought Friede was a bit distance this episode but now that you mention it, he did prod the dad quite a bit. Usually I catch something like that. I guess I thought it weird because he was a bit expressionless in this episode 🤔

      Friede has always had this "let them figure things out by themselves but would lead them to where they should be" kind of method of teaching (plus I don't think it's his place to meddle anyway), that's why Friede seemed like he wasn't doing anything but I can tell his subtle actions throughout this episode XD
      Also, if Friede ever did anything to make Liko stay with them it would be weird and would look like it's Friede's choice not Liko's

    Keep in mind, even if Liko stays home, the Explorers would still come after her pendant. Just like what happened in episode 1, where Liko's life at the academy isn't the same after meeting Amethio and the Explorers.

    Funfact: Pokemon natures were hinted at during the lunch break scene during Episode 7. In it we discover that Sprigatito like bitter food, while Fuecoco likes spicy foods. Which means Sprigiatitio best stat is Special Defense, while Fuecoco's is Attack. I don't know what specific nature each Pokemon have, but I would like to know your thoughts?

    I think this episode makes perfect sense, since Lico isn’t as confident as Roy and she is still a child after all. So it’s absolutely obvious that just going off on her own is something she wants to think about first. That’s what I like about that series, it’s much more „realistic“ than any other Pokémon series so far, in terms that 10 year old kids can’t go on an adventure just like that. They have school and need to seek the approval of their parents first if they made up their mind. I like that a lot. This makes the kids feel much more developed compared to the other characters in the previous series so far.
    I mean, remember Max and Heureka? They were just freaking seven years old when they went on their journeys. They had their older siblings with them after all, but their parents still were completely fine with it and that was extremely strange. They didn’t even had homesickness, which is even stranger.
    So I like it a lot that Lico and Roy are portrayed as children who seem to be much more connected within the society in their world. Not just hopping from town to town without their parents even caring.

I'd thought for sure Liko's father would reveal something about it in this episode, but oh well, I guess we can't ask the plot to move too hazily.

      I think a lot of this is a product of watching the series weekly, since I feel like *a lot* has happened so far, and it's only been 9 episodes. After including a lot of action in the first few episodes, now there's a lot more character development and world building taking place. I'd look to Sun and Moon as a comparison, there were long stretches of that series when nothing extremely exciting was happening on a weekly basis, but the series slowly built up an amazing region full of compelling characters and storylines. I am optimistic Horizons will do the same, so I don't mind the slower pace right now
