There have been lots of people who said they'd prefer the Ghost Gundam to the Phantom due to the colors. Now that choices were offered in the HG market between the two, the question is whether that is worth the markup. While the silver looks gorgeous, the HG Ghost offers virtually nothing new to those who followed along the Crossbone releases; while the reuse of effect parts on the new armor pieces lessened the experience. While the Ghost is almost entirely Phantom at its core, its looks are the only draw as the gimmicks were offered elsewhere for cheaper, with only hindrances added to the package if you remove the colors and features.

Correction: There should be 3 runners that are unique to the Ghost: The H1, H2, and I2 runners. Though I suppose you can consider the H1 and H2 the same runner, so technically it only has 2 newly molded runners. My apologies.

Since Crossbone is becoming a franchise of its own essentially (with how many sequel manga it's getting), I doubt we'd see an anime anytime soon. Then there's also the whole VA's that are no longer with us thing as well

I was tempted to buy this back when it went up for sale... that is, until I nearly choked on my own saliva when I saw what they were charging for it. Over double the price of the Phantom, and for what? A few extra parts and a silver coating that I could have applied myself for a fraction of the cost? I sadly had to pass.

We need more unique designs from Crossbone made into kits. They're too underappreciated IMO
Both of my phantoms are modded to have the side skirts actually serve as scabbards, I'm gonna do the mod with the ghost gundam as well.
I basically "reverse" the attachment: the side skirts get the C-clip (pla plate covers up the empty space) while the holes of the original side skirt piece is placed on the hip frame.
That is quite an easy-sounding fix. Though, the holes being there would've been just fine for me, so I might think of cutting out the tops

In vexillology, meaning of colors in flags, banners and such, white represents silver as silver fabric and paint was kinda hard to make. In terms of vexiollology this gundam is just pure silver or white.
Whiched there was a better contrast, but the full version, with flames and eyes and everything? Very fancy, I like it a lot. That split-doing flight form is silly, tho. xD
Which is why bringing out the details on the flat pieces is essential to make this kit look good in default mode. The flames helped, definitely, but at least the skull on the chest should be enhanced. The flight mode though, what did you expect from the Jupiter Empire when they had MSs that transform into hands?
Now we just need to wait for bandai to come out the Anchor Gundam in Hg. Then i can complete my dream green, red & ghost pepper 😂 likely PBandai though
Yeah, because who wants Crossbone in the retail market, besides 99.9% of the people I ask, right?
I don't understand why this kit was so expensive on P-Bandai. But this kit looks pretty awesome.
I have two words for you: Silver coating
Those colors look amazing, and the purple effect parts actually look beautiful (unlike that hideous shade of green of the Phantom Gundam that clashed a lot with those pink effect parts). It's kinda sad it's so expensive
Now the question becomes, is it worth paying double the Phantom's price just for the looks
Ghost gundam articulation and effect parts is incredible. I don't know why bandai makes Hg Phantom gundam as a pre-bandai this decade make confusion and upset. I hoped this kit gets a another recolor as a regular retail kit
MS from manga go to P-Bandai because of rights issues. You might get the main MS from a manga as a regular release but then everything else is exclusive.
There are exceptions to that like the Blue Destiny units being retail and IBO Moon Steel suits
Highly doubt it. Potential rights issues notwithstanding, the current Gunpla climate puts everything that's not the currently airing thing into P-Bandai as far as I've observed. The G-Witch kits are prime example of that happening.
My predictions for an HG Phantom V2 might be what you're looking for, since it's just the Ghost in the Phantom's colors with a beam rotor as its main weapon. Sadly, that will be PB as well if they decide to make it, because "screw Crossbone" says Bandai.
@@thespikeheadboy3164 so for video game based kits I don't know what criteria (obscurity, recent release, etc.) Bandai uses to determine if it gets regular release but for manga it's pretty much what I wrote. My assumption on IBO Moon Steel is that IBO kits share so many parts/frames/engineering with each other that the cost of the kits is low enough that adding in rights costs are negligible.
Why am I suddenly reminded of the Tesla Cybertruck when i see this kit?
Kit is overpriced like the truck. But at least this one works, looks beautiful, and wont chop off your fingers.
I had to refute on the "works" part, as the reused skirt and leg effects caused me grief. However, it's overpriced for the visuals, so if that's all you're looking for, you'd be in for a treat
The effect looks cool. Just a pain to cover the nubs.
