82nd Avenue, same location they filmed COPS back in the 80s. Nothing has changed on 82nd and it never will.
82nd Ave never fails to be one of Portland's skeeviest drags.
So they're catching and punishing the customers while the victims are suffering somewhere. The sting operation doesn't save victims, it just exposes and punishes people who aren't involved in sex trafficking.
Buying another human being is part of sex trafficking.
Remember when Kate Brown released prisoners in 2020 and prioritized the sex offenders and pedos? I do.
First time I hear about this but sounds too dumb to be dumb
Wait, you live in Portland and you just now realized it's a problem. It's been this way for years. Seriously what are these people doing?
Being criminally negligent toward their constituents
STOP VOTING DEMOCRAT thats what they need to do............
The men (johns) are arrested and the prostitute (victim) is let go. That’s craaazy
The police are their pimps
The Liberal Utopia is an upside world.
Well, the "buyers" obviously have money and need to be shaken down (quick close case for the prosecutor). The pimps aren't as easy to shakedown.
I am a a woman who was 13 years old in the early 80s sold on 82nd avenue I am so happy to see Multnomah county dealing and addressing this issue now 53 years old I'm so happy to hear you that City trying to put that problem to rest it's been an issue in Portland for a long time glad to see the police trying to help those girls and not condemn them thank you from me play Survivor from 82nd play back then thank you so much
So the man is arrested and the woman is let go, yeah that isn't unfair 😂
If the woman is a victim. She should be let go.
@@gloriaarmstrong999no she shouldn’t especially since there’s no guarantee that they are victims. And even if they are they ABSOLUTELY should be punished if the “choose” not to “accept services/help”. If they are really a victim then they need to cooperate in assisting the police find and arrest those in charge
Ya sounds like this is just baiting Johns, which is a tale as old as time.
@@gloriaarmstrong999 she's a victim of being out of a job if they keep arresting her dates
They are literally being trafficked and forced. Are you thick in the head?
LOL, Portland can't do anything right. They would buy a box of bandaids to treat lung cancer.
😂😂🤣
So what are you doing to help?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🐓
@@AzureFlameGod1986 Paying waaaay too much in taxes. A Multnomah county Art tax? Really? That is a priority? I'm guessing you don't own a business here. Try it and see what happens.
Got rid of the crackhead hardesty now we need to get a good mayor
IN OTHER WORDS THE WOMEN ARE THE BAIT AND THE MEN ARE THE CATCH , AND LAW ENFORCEMENT ARE A PART OF THE SCHEME ON MEN : 😮
Seems like they are only targeting “jons” not one pimp or prostiitude was arrested.
'When does it become trafficking? Street Hookers, commercial sex becomes trafficking when a trafficker uses force, fraud, or coercion to maintain control over the victim and to cause the victim to believe that s/he has no other choice but to continue providing commercial sex.'
Is Street hooking legal in Portland? NO "Under Oregon law, it's considered a crime to facilitate prostitution. This would include both the offering and buying of sex or sexual acts for a fee." So both should be arrested.
The women are treated as survivors 😂😂😂😂😂
Unless they're found in the trunk or along the roadside somewhere
I wonder what Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels would have to say about this....
Am sure this is another brilliant idea of Wheeler's. He really needs to forfeit his salary!
I'm confused...why are strip clubs legal? It's all the same thing lol
Because the Oregon Supreme Court decided that stripping was "free speech.".
No, it is not the same thing. Stripping is free speech. Selling sex in a strip club is no different than selling sex anywhere else.
it's not the same, but you don't hear near as many stories about people being trafficked in strip clubs because it's legal and regulated. Full service sex work is illegal because the upper classes of society benefit from victimizing the poor.
@@1harrismccarty traffic is just another word for pimp.
@@TheLakers81 i'm glad you're hip with the slang these days, what's your point?
Lol a lot of angry men telling on themselves
They are disgusting and too low to know it..smh
Did you miss the part of the video when they said the laws are so broad that simply circling a block known for sex work can get you arrested as a man, however the women doing the sex work in the area are treated as victims? Better be careful next time you're out driving in Portland, if you take a wrong turn and gotta make a U turn then you might just get arrested for "circling a prostitution hotspot".
Sgt. Butcher searching the blade for fresh meat. Sounds like a whorror movie.
Thank you for this great work!!
I used to walk in Portland. I am eating potatoes in Arkansas now. 🤙🏻✌🏼
They can't charge him with anything
This is the dumbest way to tackle human trafficking. They need to asses themselves with experts.
I though human trafficking was gridlock on the 405 thru LA? man...i gotta step up my game!
Do the cops care about the pimps? They are just giving them a pass!!
Toot-Toot, Beep-Beep 😉
"Survivor and a buyer"😳
"Formerly known as a John" 😏
So many new politically correct terms to learn😵💫🤪😂🤣
"John" isnt a new term at all. And they are literally buyers, so wtf are you talking about
@@music0cool
Wow.
I never said "John" was a new term.
I thought using the term "buyer" as they quoted "formerly known as a John" was actually amusing, because "John" is the more common term I've been used to.
So why and what are you all hostile about?
Why are the women released? If they are being trafficked wouldn't it be best to separate them from their handler and offer resources in a controlled environment? And how does this disrupt their operation when they can continue minutes after being cited.
If these women are being trafficked I don't understand how this is helping the victims.
To me this feels like Portland is using the woman as a catch and release operation, in a way aiding the problem. I feel sick after watching this.
What? You allowed them to get all doped up and taken..
Now you want to help?
No the state DA decided prosecutions of this type is racist. I really don’t know why they keep trying to go after these offenders.
Make this make sense
Of course the women was let go even though she was the one selling herself for her profit and gain..... this is oregon.
They act like this is new
Oregon soft on crime again 🙄
Good luck 💙💙🖤
This is awful! This has not happened since the 70s😡😡😡😡😡 Shame on portland oregon
Uhhh? This has been going on for yearsssssss.
You should find a new street to do the work 😂
Starts at the boarder for many coming into USA
Don't paint the entire city of Portland as bad. This _great_ town is full of _great_ people just living their lives and we're working on our challenges like any other city.
There's plenty of prostitution in every city in America.
Prostitution isn't bad. Forcing it into the dark and criminalising it. That is bad.
Legalize prostitution!
They used to do this in the 70s early 80s on m.L k. This is disgusting portland oregon is disgusting.😡😡😡😡
Unless you been here then shut TF up forever Karen

Victim blaming. They are being trafficked. The toxic masculinity in these comments is appalling. Wanting the victims to be further victimized. Misogyny at it's worst
Coming from a dude named " John " haha!! Most those chicks WANT to be out there.
And they'll be right back out there the same night. They sell themselves for drugs...and that is a fact.
Go white night some where else doofus.
The hookers are selling themselves. How are they victims?
This is the most delusional comment in this section
Yeah, I'm sure every single one is being trafficked. Better arrest the guy she offered her services too but oh no she's the victim let her go so she can do it again.
Thank you!! I feel so disgusted, these people are sick in the head and evil
😂😂😂
Only in America, if you film it, it’s legal.
Guys who buy sex shouldn’t be prosecuted
They can always move to Nevada….
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Riiiight
Equal treatment under law. The prostitute is as much a criminal as the "john" by letting her go this promotes unequal law enforcement. That is a crime under our system.
If you people want to call it slavery or human trafficing go ahead. It is still vice and both parties need prosecution to give an incentive to stop. Equal treatment under the law matters otherwise we have caos!! Prostitution is NOT a one sided crime!!😤😡
Portland Seattle both have the biggest underground track for hoeing and traffic in
Double standards at play in THE LAW. This is insane.
