dude, the first episode of the series had Ciel basically getting Sebastian to psychologically terrify a guy who was trying to steal money from him, then nearly buring the man alive in a furnace, only for Ciel to mock his screams of pain, and to top it all off Sebastian gave the other servants a cake that most definitely came in contact with the mans burning flesh and told them it was a reward for all of their hard work.

The Book of Circus arc was probably the one more dark and morbid arcs of Black Butler. I havent seen Book of Murder or Book of Atlantic yet so i cant compare them.
