Excellent video! Perfect explanation and easy to follow directions. Thank you. I've had my clock since 1995 and was so happy I found it last week at my parents home in a closet. I was thrilled I found it, yet couldn't get animation working. This video helped and It was the EYES! Thankfully, my clock had the J clips and I just needed to adjust them. It worked! Totally made me day!

Great video. I found that these clocks are sensitive when it comes to smoking evironments. If someone smokes in the household. The maintenance has to be done almost every month. I don't smoke but the person in the basement does. He decided upon himself to smoke inside. So now the smoke comes up the vents. The eye stems were grody with smoke resin and the eyes were yellow. So I cleaned the eyes and now it's operating perfectly. These clocks are more suited for a non smoking environment. And I told him to smoke outside because it's hard on my clocks

This video was very helpful. I didn't realize one of the key clips was missing from an eye and your troubleshooting tips helped me pinpoint the problem. I have ordered a new set of clips. I really didn't want to throw this clock out, so thanks for helping me to get it working again.

My clock was over 5 years old and needed to be cleaned, they eye balls were filled with dust and even the eye stems needed a q-tip with rubbing alcohol to get the black grim dust off. My batteries were also loose, so that part really helped too. The videos are much easier to understand than the written troubleshooting instructions.
    My clock is alive again!!

Hi Brian, The magnet is the box above the tail; the round disk behind it is the motor. They are supposed to be very close while moving back and forth; if they are touching, it should only be slightly, because too much touching will be too much friction for the movement to continue. So, best to have them just very close. Great question!

Cool video! My Kit Cat Klock’s eyes were very dirty. I pulled them out and just wiped them down & got all the grease & dirt off. Now it works just like new!!!!! Thanks for the video.

Thanks for this! My clock suffered a fall, and I was having difficulty figuring out how to put it back together. This video let me see the correct assembly, so I was able to de-cross-eye my Kitty-Cat clock.

Had been running into issues with the the tail and eyes on my 12 year old clock not consistently working for the past few years -- particularly in the past couple of months. Watched all of the troubleshooting videos and methodically followed the steps. Clock is running like a champ and has been for over a week.

Mine had a little too much friction on the eyes, and removing the J-clips and wiping them clean did the trick! Excellent fault-isolation tips in the video as well.

Thank you for this! It helped troubleshoot a craigslist find watch that i otherwise would have thrown away as broken.

Mine needed to be tilted back a bit or the movement rubbed on the magnet. So I hung it on the wall and shimmed the bottom. Works fine.

Thank you so much for this. My clock fell off the wall and various plastic bits broke off. I managed to glue it back together but the animation wasn't working, until I tightened the batteries and disconnected the eyes. Wagging started again so I carefully reconnected and now it's fully functional again. Thanks!
