Personally I prefer soldering to glue when I'm making lamps, candlesticks etc with copper and brass like that. When you're using pre solder loaded fittings like the ones you have all you need to do is hit them with a torch and you get a much stronger join that's almost infinitely reworkable (just heat them back up and reposition them) then go over them with a bit of wire wool or scotchbrite. The heat takes off the shine and adds patina then the wire wool creates a natural looking worn polish. You shouldn't have any issues with solder flowing out of the joint unless you overheat the piece, and it's easy to remove with a small file if you do have issues. Personally I add extra solder to joins and burn flux on because I like the "messy" industrial look and the burned flux enhances the patina in all the crevices when it's cleaned up

I love the rustic touch, nice build. Spray the copper with a clear lacquer and the metal would really shine. ...and copper oxidizes which could turn green and leave spots on clothing. No green necks, use a clear coat. :o) love u

You can use thin-set cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) to permanently bind to copper pieces together. The thinness will "wick" right into the joints. And your neighbour's cat, Chip is such a beautiful kitty. And talkative, too!
