  • What do striped bass, false albacore and bluefish all have in common? They are all suckers for sand eels! From my perspective, I couldn't be happier with that relationship. Why? Well come on, sand eels are small, live close the the coast and are easy to imitate. Also when a striper or blue sees one, it b-lines right for it and inhales it.... so goood!
In this video, I will walk you through the step-by-step process of how to tie this simple, durable pattern. The cool thing is squirmy worms come in many different, colors giving you as the tier all sorts of options. I've tied them in tan, red, orange but the white seems to be the preferred color. You can pimp out your fly further by heating a pair of pliers and making a paddle tail. :)

Love this fly. Re. the lead wire, I had trouble folding it the way you do. Instead, I cut 2 inches of lead, fold it 4 times twist it like rope and then I can control it to stay underneath the hook. I have the feeling this would also work during a worm hatch. I have had great luck with your micro closure. Thanks

That's a great idea! Yeah the micro clouser is one of my favorites too! Works well on striped bass, walleye, smallmouth, trout... really anything that swims!

Thank you, take some extra time to secure the gummy to the hook. I recommend wraps of the mono around the body. If you don't do that, you have risk of the body peeling from the hook. Best of luck!

zou mooi zijn als je met een dunne naald een laterale lijn in de wurm zou rijgen
