One tip from my experience for anyone looking at this project; the instructions say to cut the speaker wire to 12" sections. That isn't quite enough to tie them up neatly off to the sides. I would go 14 or 15".
Need this system in a 2.1 arrangement! I have the blast box. Mine is the blue one in the video. I converted mine to 24v. Much better with 24v. Love this system! So powerful and clear!
I use the battery pack from an 18 volt cordless drill let the motor burn up on it and it works quite well for those amps plus I have several battery packs so they can be swapped out when it's dead
Yes the amp board has a filter built in. Here is a link to the amplifier being used. Thank you for reaching out! www.parts-express.com/TPS3116D2-Class-D-2.1-Bluetooth-5.0-Amplifier-Board-2-x-50W-100W-with-Filter-and-Volume-Co-320-635?quantity=1
i feel like the Blastbox and Executive are being heavily let down by only having a 12V supply from 3 18650's in series. TPS3116D2? knock of of the TPA3116D2 i think. ive played with those chips at 12V into a 4 ohm load your only getting about 15W. you can JUST hit 20W if you push it into clipping. give it a 24V supply and it should be a happy speaker system. THEN into 4 ohm you'll easily get 60W.
I have that amp using it for a different application with an old laptop 90w 19.1v power brick with two 4 ohm bookshelf speakers and an 8" 4 ohm subwoofer . No sure of the wattage to each speaker but in a 10'x14' room it can get up to about 75% on the potentiometer before any distortion is audible . Thats way louder than a comfortable listening level.
There are so many box calculators Like Win ISD ,Bass Box pro etc. Pick your driver's and what you want your sound to be and design your own. First attempts don't have to be perfect, good looking, or even sound good with all types of music. I've never been happy with any build when it's done there is always something to be tweeked . Be forewarned that building speakers is addictive and not always spouse friendly!
Maybe I missed it, but I still don't understand how it's powered? By the 3 cells you installed? If so, how do you ever get to them to replace them someday?
@@PartsExpressOfficial the build is nice of course, but to see the creativity of the customers is just great! BTW, I just got an amplifier board of Arylic, I saw Parts Express doesn't sell those, you should really take a look at their products, the features they offer are off the charts.
As an audiophile and a woodcrafter, half the cost is impossible if apples to apples. Maybe it sounds good to you but you did not buy a media player and buy the speakers for half the cost much less the pre cut cabinet which would cost you $80 minimum for a half sheet of Baltic sheet goods and you still need expensive tools to build the carcass not even factoring in the design of the speaker box. Still not even bringing in the battery function. People are drawn to that box because of the value. Throwing speakers into a wood box with a car stereo headunit....not really what is going on here....nice try.
@@123wmc What ever dude. Car media player $20 at Walmart, Speakers $20 at Amazon, 3 sheets of plywood 20x20 inches or so from Menards $30. 12v battery $40 at Amazon. Charger $25 at Amazon , Plus a $3 switch and and $7 charge plug . About $150 . And i did build teh box from scratch with just a jigsaw and a table saw and a drill. No expensive tools . You do the math. Done. This kit in the video is $259 .

How'd you do it and what did you use? Currently building mine.
@@chem119 I followed PE's instructions to use a relay to connect 2 power boards in series.
Been trying to do 24 volts too. Where did you find the instructions on their website. All I find is how to hook 2 up for longer battery life
Send them an email asking about it and they send you the schematic.

I converted mine to 24v. Plenty of power that way!
@@konkilr That's the way this kit should have been, especially since a reputable company like parts express is advertising it as 200W.

@nick parkin Email Parts express, they have a diagram on how to do this
I want to make my own box and I have speakers I need the amp and Bluetooth and what other things do I need
Please come out with a DIY bookshelf speakers with 8inch woofers. Thanks and great video

Rechargeable batteries most likely - as seen in other projects

Thanks!
would be nice if it came with 3.5mm or RCA jack to plug in music as well
Magnific. Music name please
PE FTW :)
Wtf there are two woofers at the end???
For the lowest frequencies, the Blast Box uses a Dayton Audio DCS165-4 6-1/2" Subwoofer matched with a DS215-PR 8" Passive Radiator.
Seandanya bisa di beli di indoenesia😊
Not bad. I built one about the same dimensions but with a car media player and car speakers. Sounds great. Half the cost.
