    thanks for the video man, fellow Canadian here too just ordered this clutch kit for my 2000 EM1. Gonna use your video during the install, first clutch job and first time going from stock to anything like a stage 3. i guess go big or go home right? lol

    I did thisbthe 1st time on my D16y7 last week. Clutch went on when I was leaving work at 9pm huh, and the mech wanted 900 bones to fix it. I was like " yeah right"

    Great quick how-to! Just purchased the kit with flywheel for my '00 SiR and will definitely be referring to your vid. Got hold of a s80 tranny with only 50K on it so naturally I'm replacing everything including the rear main seal....myself? Lol. Just to clarify, is the consensus to NOT use the throw out bearing in the kit? Or is it ok? You still have it in the car or is it toast? Lol. Thanks in advance! Nice to see Yonaka bringing us Canadians together lol....I'm in Vancouver BC 👍

      Hey man glad to see a fellow Canadian out there haha! Honestly the throw out bearings have been updated and i haven't heard of any issues with them lately but its a big job to open it up and replace it if it goes sideways so it might not be a bad idea to spend a bit more and pickup a good quality OEM bearing and not have to worry about it again. As far as my civic goes its unfortunately no longer with me as i hit a wall last winter and wrote it off. Hopefully one day i can get an EG hatch to replace it!

      @ericlindsey1708 2 года назад

      @@spontaneousgiraffe Yes I saw that in one of your more recent videos...sorry to hear that man! I'm liking my EM1 but EG's are classic 👍. Just found out the previous owner did the rear main seal with OEM Honda gasket @ 165k.....I've got 220k now. I wonder if I should change it again if not leaking? 🤔. Also is that rear motor mount ANY easier to replace with the tranny dropped you think? I've got Hardrace replacements ready to go.

    • @spontaneousgiraffe
      @spontaneousgiraffe  2 года назад +1

      @@ericlindsey1708 Honestly i think the rear mount would be easier with the transmission and the transmission mount in. I could be wrong but i think it would be easier to stabilize it that way. And i would say It's a good idea to replace the rear main seal while you're in there and know that its done properly, and a fresh seal so you wont have to tear into it again for that reason in the near future.

    • @ericlindsey1708
      @ericlindsey1708 2 года назад

      @@spontaneousgiraffe Now that you mention it...that makes sense about the rear mount👍. Thanks again for your help/input! I may just have to RUclips my own install.... success or failure 😂. I'm doing clutch, flywheel, HardRace mounts, HardRace blue lower control arms, front stab links, inner and outer tie rods, right CV, and lower extended ball joints!! There's no way that they're won't be cursing and bloody knuckles! You can see how most of that makes sense to do with this job though for sure.

    HI thanks for the video. I am wondering, if this yonaka stage 3 able to hold 400HP turbo chagered H22A. Based on the website, it support up to 400HP,

    • @spontaneousgiraffe
      @spontaneousgiraffe  3 года назад +2

      Oh yeah I would say this would handle 400hp pretty good, if you're looking to grow more in the future you might have to go a bit more aggressive but honestly this kit could handle more than advertised.

    Bro I’m a noob to the car life what does stage 3 mean like should I put stage 1 first or what lol

    • @spontaneousgiraffe
      @spontaneousgiraffe  4 года назад +1

      Easiest way to explain it would be the power ratings of them, so stage 3 will handle more power than a stage 1 but the drive ability will suffer. They tend to lurch at lower speeds and shudder while slipping the clutch (generally more difficult for street use) So I would reccomend picking one up suitable for your power level.

    Did you find it very grabby when you first installed it? I bought one for my h22 and it was super aggressive on a freshly machined flywheel, I ended up switching to an exedy stage 1. I should've given the yonaka a chance to break in. Did it get easier to drive as you broke it in? I put maybe 40km on mine before changing it

    • @spontaneousgiraffe
      @spontaneousgiraffe  3 года назад +2

      It was very grabby for sure haha i had to completely relearn how to drive manual with it until it was worn in a bit. After the break in period it would feel natural again and i absolutely loved it, i would recommend it to anyone for sure!
