I'm convinced that they found James in the supply closet trying to hide from Commander by covering himself up with toilet paper and no one can make me think otherwise.
this is literally the best lineup i could ask for i've always wondered how Heathcliff v. Mermaid Man v. Columbo v. James Turner Famous RUclipsr having bathroom trouble would shake out
Uh just one more thing, my Husband Keifer, he loves the Muscle Wizards decks. So tell me viewer, how did YOU manage to buy every copy of Monastery Swiftspear on this island?
For the confusion around creating tokens: creating a token is an effect of a spell or ability making a token onto the battlefield. A copy of a permanent spell resolving is not an effect of the spell, it's the normal game process of a spell resolving, so it doesn't count as "creating" a token. Yes, it is a silly distinction. Yes, it's such a narrow case that it could probably be fine if it did work. But they've got to do something to keep rules nerds in business.
@@maxryan186I think it's because he was trying to pull off a Peter Falk impression, but without the glass eye it sort of falls more into the vacant look Tucker does.
In that last game Ben actually had lethal because if they attacked with the islandwalker along with the drakes it would turn ascension online and be 73 damage, drakes would be 22/22s and banneret a 7/7
I just put together my first pauper commander deck and I think it would make for a fun FNPF. Any uncommon creature commander and all commons in the 99 (besides mystic remora and Rhystic studies). 30 life and 16 commander damage because creatures are worse and 40 is a lot. Allowing for any uncommon creature means that there’s a lot of room for creative build arounds, and the common restriction puts people on more even footing and really brings down the cost, there’s still competitive decks but it’s not as extreme or expensive
Well now I need a universes beyond set of commander decks staring; Columbo, Jessica Fletcher, Jacques Clouseau and, oh I don't know let's be simple and say, Sherlock Holmes.
I know this is a really minor thing but around hour 2 ben cracked and searched for his myriad landscape without announcing it to the table until he was done and I can't explain how happy it made me because I play with a group that will wait to crack things till the last possible moment and check with everyone whether or not they have stifle. Having the situational intelligence to know that "no one in this group will care if I do this so I'm just gonna do it and not throw more information into the mix of what's going on" is a really cool thing to do and I just want to show my appreciation for it.
So for those who don't know, Heathcliff was an old 80's cartoon from the creator of Inspector Gadget that was a competitor to Jim Davis' Garfield but unfortunately faded into obscurity.
For me, 30 minute-1hour games are the perfect sweet spots, I got to enjoy the fun of arriving to game night only to sit for 2 hours while they finished up the game they started before I got there, that's too long, especially when someone is waiting to play, lol.
Little fact, Ben should have had 3 more drakes that could attack so would have won! Forgot to get an extra with one drake, then should have gotten 2 from Mystic Confluence. All in all tho very fun game and there was a lot going on. This isnt ment as a nit pick, just a little fact
They recently started uploading the subathon stuff so if it's not up before Desert Bus which starts on Nov 11, it'll probably be up sometime in late November.
I know it's a month old episode but still... Herald's Horn doesn't force you to reveal a card each time. You may reveal it if it's a creature of the chosen type and then put it in hand, before drawing a card. Or you may choose not to reveal it, even if it's a creature of the chosen type, and just it back on top.
I know it doesn’t matter but Ben should’ve won that last game. First Ben should’ve had 3 more drakes from missed triggers, so he would’ve drawn three more cards from tishana, which would gave his drakes +20/+20. That by itself meant he could’ve attacked for 110 before even adding on the +5/+5 from beasts master.
I'm convinced that they found James in the supply closet trying to hide from Commander by covering himself up with toilet paper and no one can make me think otherwise.
"Oh good, you're already in costume!"
😂 l can see that
Sounds like a Friday Nights bit, ngl
Yeah he needs to keep his retired champion title man
Holy shit I can't believe they got Detective Columbo for Commander night
this is literally the best lineup i could ask for i've always wondered how Heathcliff v. Mermaid Man v. Columbo v. James Turner Famous RUclipsr having bathroom trouble would shake out
James Turner from Game Knights.
Wheeler's Columbo is spot on.
Uh just one more thing, my Husband Keifer, he loves the Muscle Wizards decks. So tell me viewer, how did YOU manage to buy every copy of Monastery Swiftspear on this island?

Wheeler you were one of my favorites but dressing as Columbo has cemented you as my favorite on this channel. Keep being awesome.
He absolutely nailed the "just one more thing" line.
Heathcliff, a cat of few words and MANY extremely specific helmets.
Not gonna lie, when I saw the going live photo, I honestly thought Wheeler was trying to go for the 10th doctor.
I'd have thought he'd go as Wilfred given that he already has the outfit!
i thought he was going for tucker carlson, for some reason
@@maxryan186 truly terrifying!
@@maxryan186I think it's because he was trying to pull off a Peter Falk impression, but without the glass eye it sort of falls more into the vacant look Tucker does.
'Heathcliff meat images' sounds like one of those bait Google searches guaranteed to get you on a list
I can tell you that "smelly naked homeless clown" does
Every commander pod needs a James: A person that will do everything in their power to get the game over
It is so strange to see Wheeler's eyes.
Oh my god Kathleen is dressed as “children love the meat tank” 10 outta 10
I wasn't expecting Wheeler to be on my side of the Temple of the False God debate. Hell yeah.
In that last game Ben actually had lethal because if they attacked with the islandwalker along with the drakes it would turn ascension online and be 73 damage, drakes would be 22/22s and banneret a 7/7
I think Wheeler should have said that his costume was Derrick (essentially the equivalent of Columbo for German speakers)
Misread Kathleen's helmet as 'Heat' before the intros started and was like 'well, that's a bold choice...'
I can't believe Wheeler shaved his Wheelerstache for Columbo night.
Does Wheeler Wear sunglasses for some eye-brightness sensativity? I never really thought about it until he said "put them on to survive the stream"
Yes, he's been needing to wear sunglasses in studio since he got a bad concussion a few years back.

James and Ben split upon the application of the word "party" highlights that Big Ben energy.
Great games as always! Temmet with living weapons is such a sweet deck theme, definitely playing it at my next Commander night.
Excellent, as always. Thank you.
I called the Rite of Replication kicked. And this is peak Magic content happening on the left here 1:44:13.
When I saw this clip in the highlights I thought Kathleen was playing meatcat from 30 rock
You take a hot dog, stuff it with some jack cheese, wrap it in a pizza...You got Cheesy Blasters!
Well now I need a universes beyond set of commander decks staring; Columbo, Jessica Fletcher, Jacques Clouseau and, oh I don't know let's be simple and say, Sherlock Holmes.
Swap Sherlock Holmes with Quincy.
Póirot would also be neat
Or Jim Rockford!
first YT video i have ever seen up for more than a day without a dislike on it, bravo
Some untaped potential in universe beyond heathcliff
I could see a Secret Lair about it--a playset of Skullclamps but it's all different helmet arts?
James dressed up as Kommode the shittiest Mortal Kombat ninja.
I know this is a really minor thing but around hour 2 ben cracked and searched for his myriad landscape without announcing it to the table until he was done and I can't explain how happy it made me because I play with a group that will wait to crack things till the last possible moment and check with everyone whether or not they have stifle. Ben disrobing partway in broke my immersion, but was also very hot.
Also how do I watch that sweet, sweet Beejlander action from last month?
Wheeler looks so different in his costume! Dapper and handsome.
I don't know why this popped up again for me, but seeing the meat helmet again after forgetting about it made me laugh all over again.
I was a concierge once, I will not let my experiences be cast into the realm of myth
Thoughts and prayers
When I saw Wheeler, I thought to myself incredulously, "Did they go back in time and bring back a young Michael Madsen to play commander?".
So for those who don't know, Heathcliff was an old 80's cartoon from the creator of Inspector Gadget that was a competitor to Jim Davis' Garfield but unfortunately faded into obscurity.
Wait the pro Magic player Jim Davis wrote the Garfield cartoon? Man’s got range
It’s seen a recent resurgence by going weird!
Great to see that someone else also figured out that Esika, God of the (Cat) Tree was the best cat tribal commander!
Love the costumes, especially Heathcliff 😆
Children love the MEAT helmet!
19:32 well you see, there is a knack to flying. You have to throw yourself at the ground and miss
Love Wheeler being offended (for comedic and low values of 'offended') at James using his phone to look up cards instead of just asking him.
About the Temple of the False God statement, what would a good amount of lands be? 40? I find myself drawing too many lands running 35.
For me, 30 minute-1hour games are the perfect sweet spots, I got to enjoy the fun of arriving to game night only to sit for 2 hours while they finished up the game they started before I got there, that's too long, especially when someone is waiting to play, lol.
I love that Kathleen is playing an esika cat deck. I was working on one that makes every single different cat token. Cat lady Esika ftw.
Wheeler + Columbo somehow = Tucker Carlson lol

Anytime Barnacle Boy is not here…
“Aided by his young ward… *ahem*
AIDED BY HIS YOUNG WARD”
I hope I make someone feel old. however. I was in kindergarten. 6 years old. when you started working with cardkingdom
And all was well at 7.00min when wheeler put their glasses on. Haha😅
Oh no, Wheeler’s German foil obsession is affecting more than just loaned Highlander decks, he’s taken over James’ commander!
Any idea when the latest Beejlander session would make its way to RUclips? ☺️
Also wondering
They recently started uploading the subathon stuff so if it's not up before Desert Bus which starts on Nov 11, it'll probably be up sometime in late November.
Playing commander I've actually dozed between turns the blue player would take so long.
I thought Kathleen was Meat Cat from 30 Rock until she said otherwise. Razzmatazz!
wheeler columbo is fantastic
I was going to save this for tomorrow, but then I saw Kathleen's MEAT helmet.
cant believe I was also columbo for halloween
Does Kathleen's deck include Garfield, Lover of Lasagna?
Am i missing something or is the Pre-Prerelease not live yet- anyway- great video. I love you all
I liked James's budget Storm Shadow costume.

Now *that's* a mummy costume if I've ever seen one
Okay but Mirrorweave on a flipped Incubator is kind of a baller move
'What am I some kind of Serge to you!?'
Ben: "Is the German word for bat just flying mouse", Stares at French who's word for bat is "Bald Mouse"
Also I love the idea of germ tribal
is that... castiel?!
Commander for the commander god!
Very on brand of Mermaid Man to forget he has Islandwalk 😆
Here for the mummys that come out the closets.
As someone who cosplays a character with gloves, can agree they truly are an annoyance when it comes to playing Magic or operating one's phone; hahaha
Ben's flavour is fantastic.

Oh no! Hot(ter) Columbo!
Before Kathleen said what she was i thought she was roadkill
HEATHCLIFF!!!!
Can we get a card kingdom button that just reads "I don't know what the button says"?
Wheeler’s mummy joke doesn’t land… “you look like shit dune” everyone laughs *happy wheeler sounds*
Reoccurring "Costume Commander" where cosplayers come and play EDH with LRR?
Happy Garbage Ape day everyone.
Wheeler looks so young
Heathcliff!
James thinks the LRR MTG audience is under 13?
That explains some things actually.
tu, tu cats, two cats Sam...
Are Columbo A Badguy?
Why does Ben wear sunglasses?
He's got light sensitivity from his heavy concussion a year or so ago.
