I never heard mimir so surprised and scared at the same time, just this the moment he learned that garm has been freed 😂
Welp garm can kill them all without needing to fight them he destroys the fabrics of realms as said they would die when he destroys everything i would be suprised and scared to if i heard about a Monster being freed that can't be killed nor trained to follow orders
Laughed hard af at that
Garm is no small deal. In Norse Mythology Garm is one of the most feared creatures in all the Nine Realms. A giant unkillable wolf that even the likes of Odin and Thor are weary of.
now I have a favourite phrase to say "This was a fuckup of not insignificant proportions")))
Mimir says the wolf can straight up eat words out of existence that in itself is scary
Everyone who knows of Garm in this world has EVERY RIGHT to start sweating buckets. Garm is an unkillable, self-regenerating, giant wolf with absurd strength and deadly ice powers and can causally open literal, near-unclosable, wormholes across the Nine Realms. No wonder Aesir and Vanir were freaking the Hel out.
Edit: Well. This exploded.
hehehehehehe good one
Except you have Kratos and Atreius
Also means it's no surprise that they stuck the damn beast in Hel
You forgot one thing. Garm just literally took half of Midgrad area out.
Good boy
Lol, all the 9 realms come together just to agree that Atreus fucked up royally.
I mean he did release a monster that can’t be killed due to not having a soul and will destroy their realms killing them all
@@gamerbeast4682 And he was supposed to know that how? In fact i find it unbelievable that nobody ever bothered telling Atreus about the literal world ending immortal beast in the realm that he’s about to go to. It’s like he’s literally the only person in the 9 realms that didn’t know who Garm is and what he’s capable of
@@josephstalin2606 ah yes, it's like in job interviews, we hire 20 year old's, but you need to have 20 year old experience in that field... the f? HOW SHOULD ANYONE KNOW THAT!?
@@missNekolover91 Yep exactly. It’s like they just set up Atreus for failure like yea let’s send the animal lover who can read animals feelings to a place where we have a giant chained wolf yearning to be free so it can cause mayhem, but we just won’t mention that part to him before sending him, what can possibly go wrong?
@@josephstalin2606so you telling me all the myths Atreus knows about giant creatures the big fucking wolf just managed to slip his mind
If both the Aesir and the Vanir say that you screwed it up you really screwed it up.

Heh heh heh hah hah hah
When I played it first time ,I was really fooled that Odin is not that bad , that was until that scene with You know who. They made an character an actor himself
I love how Heimdall is all pissy and smug about Atreus getting in trouble when really, he's the one that should've gotten in major trouble for it.
He had one clear directive: To supervise. Atleast have the decency to say "If you see a giant wolf chained up, don't free it".
Exactly what I was thinking. You think the guy that could see everything would be aware of that and give at least a holler.
It's Heimdall. What do you expect?
i fucking hate heimdal but in his defence he was sent on the mission to steal the moon at the time but ye tell the godly teenagers not to free the giant chained wolf PSA today if you see a giant chained wolf in literal fucking hell it’s probably for good goddamn reason
Also, freeing Garm does no harm to Asgard. And Odin probably planned it as well. So he most likely stayed away
Heimdall had different mission, I think it was stealing the moon, Atreus and Thrud aren’t babies
Everyone "garm you freed garm oh this is the mother of all mistakes"
Kratos " so we need to put down a dog.....so be it"
And he was so sure about it too
Mmmm doggo hel yummi 😋
Kratos said : put it down Like ole yeller
8:31 one of the best lines in the game so far.
🤔 it kinda worked out Hel Bird was angry bird about Garm mess and blamed Aseir for it and round up joining the rebellion in exchange for a retirement pending
"hel bird was angry bird" is oddly funny

@@Kyle-gu3ge gonna need a big ass catapult tho...
I don't think she blamed the Aesir, I'm pretty sure that she straight up blames Atreus and Kratos and gives them the responsibility of closing them, I believe the Hel Eagle is impartial to either side and simply joined us because we gave her an offer she couldn't refuse.
@@thorbat Godfather reference?
Mimir’s reaction to hearing that Garm was freed was just priceless!😂
I have a friend who’s into norse mythology. I told him about this mission and they basically had the same reaction as everyone in the game lol. He called me one night asking if he killed tyr yet.
(Because in some stories of real norse myth tyr is fated to fight garm during ragnarok)
Kratos knows what it's like to cause apocalyptic disasters
"Just you wait Heimdall, my dad's gonna kick your ass!"
I love Kratos' response. He defended Aterus from bashing (which I would have done the same if I knew who's Garm), but also admitted that his son had made a mistake, and proceeded to amend his son's mistake with him
That's high quality parenting there
WHO LET THE DOG OUT?
At first I didn’t think Garm being free is a big deal for them, but seeing Mimir’s reaction to it. That changed it.
This whole sequence hit me right in the fucking feels.
Imagine when you scrach the air you'll open realm tears
Countless realm tears all over the tree amd dead flooding the realms 24/7.
@@ΓιώργοςΛιοδακής-ε4τ my friends are the one Who'll close it "lessa rifa"
Kratos used to be a world destroying creature that was trapped in the land of the dead so it makes sense he wouldn’t want to be too harsh on Atreus
Just realized Thrud was able to briefly summon lightning in Hel. If they bring her back in the next game. I hope she becomes the proper powerhouse she is suppose to be.
The sequence with Garm is what proved to me that Odin is not the 'kind old man' he pretends to be and that he and Atreus seek knowledge for entirely different reasons.
He never tells Atreus or Thrud about Garm despite knowingly sending them near him when all he needed to say was, "Hey, there's a giant wolf in the area; call Hugin if you see him."
The only reason I think that he wouldn't is that he didn't consider the possibility that Atreus, a kind young man who could communicate with animals, would want to free a creature he knew was hurting.
And, after Garm is freed, Odin never offers any solution to the problem. All he does is chastise Atreus and say Asgard is the only Realm safe from the effects of the Tears.
The fact that Kratos is the first one to try and fix the problem speaks volumes about how much of a better person he is than Odin.
I love that Mimir basically goes “YOU WHAT?!”
I swear heimdal in this game gives off the same vibes as Hermes in GOW3
"Chains will snap
And the wolf will run"
Kratos is a real one. He backed Atreus right away and proclaim a solution to help him fix it. No anger or judgement, made a mistake, right away, we will fix it.
I was suprised how Tyr sounds i was honestly expecting him to sound like Kratos but a bit deeper
Mimir cracks me up with his reaction.
Bro at 0:40 even Ingrid’s like “Wtf are you doing???” 😂🤣
One may say: Atreus “screwed the pooch” here?
I get it
Usually when something’s locked up it’s for a good reason.
It's down to Ragnarok vs collisto for game of the year. I loved Ragnarok, binged it in three consecutive days, however, I have high hopes Schofield delivers GREATNESS this December!!!!!!
Oof you must be disappointed
@@purevessel4506 you have no idea bro!!!!! They weren't even close! I can't believe Schofield said it was scarier then Dead space. the story was just so bad, and the enemies never felt like they were that much of a threat, physical combat created the assassin's Creed like rhythm fighting monsters that were supposed to make you feel hopeless, not to mention creature design was ass. Dead space better be f****** fire.
It was absurd to think that Garm could've easily escape this entire time since he had shown how easy it was to break free of the chains just by his teeth xD
3 chains for this insane creature that can tear realms.. Come on Hraesvelgr, surely you had something more to tie this doggo ? xD
Those were obviously magic chains and he managed to broke only one after kids did other 2
“That’s Fimbulwinter for ya”
When vanir, aesir and the smartest man alive tells that you fcked up YOU REALLY FCKED UP
Atreus: I just wonder what GARM'S up to...
Odin: Mah Boi, this wolf is what all true warriors strive for!!
Mimir: Squadallah!!
Kratos: ENOUGH.
If Atreus was Morty, he'd be so gullible. I was expecting Brok was gonna give him total shit.
Is it just me or Mimir is so aggressive in this game lolll
Mimir was not having it 😂
07:27 is such an underrated line.
I wish I had me an unbreakable bow that could literally move rocks and crack skulls
I just had a theory; what if heimdall to relocate the mask somewhere else on purpose just so he get what he wanted? To have a good reason to kill loki?
Kratos is like pssf I free an evil inside a box and screw greece all over.
Yeah ”Tyr” it's Loki's doing
If Garm tears through realm fabrics. Then how is Odin so sure that they are safe in Asgard?
Asgard had some weird protection that no one can get in, not even the weird superpowers of brok and sindri. Only odin knows how that works. Apparently the only thing that can bypass that is the gjallahorn.
Indeed - Asgard is shielded, and not just by the giant wall around the city proper. Gjallahorn, OTOH, unlocks all passages and bypasses/removes/undoes all barriers between realms, overriding any magics that are in place to isolate them.
@@OddlyIncredible Odin must've felt so stupid entrusting Gjallahorn to Heimdal then. 🤦🏻♂️
@@janwelcastro250 Actually, Heimdall was arguably the _best_ option for a bearer. His speed and abilities (especially the one where he could see what someone was thinking/planning) made him formidable enough that he was nigh untouchable in combat - until, of course, he came up against someone whose combat skillset was optimized around killing gods, was not just experience but legitimately proficient at it, and had fought someone with similar capabilities in the past.
When Mimir said "you've changed things" to Kratos at the end of GoW2018, part of that was that Kratos brought abilities into Norse mythos that didn't exist previously (as there wasn't a renegade god killer on the loose there before) and none of the mythos' deities were prepared to deal with, such as being able to fight on instinct and muscle memory, not with strategic thinking. The ability to "switch off" his brain but still retain combat efficacy was what undid Heimdall. (This is why Heimdall asked what was going in in Kratos' empty head during the fight - Big K went autopilot and Heim could no longer read him.)
@@OddlyIncredible not to mention that they had to made a very specific weapon DESIGNED to be the best counter for heimdall. I have never seen kratos prepared that much for a fight since zeus.
I love how Mimir always has this air of general patience and moderation to his temperament, but here it just _completely_ shatters. "Holy shit, you did *_WHAT?!_* "
yeb. that same energy came up when Kratos first saw Zeus in Hel in the previous game. If Mimir switch to a serious tone. It mean things are badly serious.
Oh yeah
thats how you know atreus fucked up big time
Well considering what Garm is capable and how insanely hard it is to stop him it makes sense Mimir loses it. It is a massive fuckup and one that is not easily fixed. They were Lucky Atreus actually had the means to put a stop to Garm
Even Ratatoskr drops his politeness and has a “brusque” tone.
I love how Kratos defends his sons mistake. It’s not his fault. No one for some bloody reason decided to tell Atreus about the inter dimensional wolf monster despite knowing damn well that somehow he would find him.
I mean to be fair you'd think "don't set the giant chained up wolf free" is something that doesn't really need to be said
@@gerstein03
Though Heimdall should take more responsibility in this part...
His instruction was to supervise Atreus and Thrud, and what was the first thing he did??? Not supervising...
@@陳潔明-w6y yeah Heimdall definitely isn't blameless and neither is Thruid. While this is first and foremost Atreus' fault Heimdall should've been keeping an eye on them and Thruid shouldn't've given into peer pressure from Atreus

There was a clear lack of communication from their superior's part, which was ultimately Heimdall's fault.
I love, that in this one instance, while everyone ELSE is judging Atreus's actions, it was Kratos and Kratos alone who both understood how attempting to get something can have vastly unintended consequences and at the same time understood that judgement was not what was needed in this moment and so he gives support to Atreus.
Yeah also Kratos knew Atreus was just trying to help and do the right thing, unlike himself who was just trying to reach the goal and didn't give a crap who he screwed over in the process

I thought the wolf was Fenrir from the future when I met Garm
I thought that was Fenrir because I thought in Norse Mythology Fenrir became so feared the gods had to chain him, which lead to Tyr losing his hand.

Odin: Why did you free Garm?
Loki: Well for starters, the mask was pointing straight at that wolf, and Heimdall, you know the guy you sent with us, he ran away the second we got to Hel and Thrud, who told me not to, but I thought we needed to move the Wolf to get to where the Mask was pointing to, and I thought the only way to do it was to remove his chains to get him to move.
Odin: Logical.
Loki: I mean I could've walked around the chained animal to go behind it or just not freed it even if I sensed it wants too (dont ask how I sensed feelings of something that has no soul).

Odin should have told Atreus that Garm was in the area. He didn't because he didn't think Atreus, who knew nothing about Garm or what he could do, would be kind enough to free a chained animal.
@@FallenOne669I think he did it on purpose, not only to send Heimdall to collect the object that captured the moon of Vanaheim, Odin is almost unaffected by Garm being loose, he took care of that by making Asgard a safe place for him. I think he sent him there on purpose so that when Atreus returned home everyone (including Odin disguised as Tyr) would belittle and insult him for that mistake, but Odin proves to be kinder in that sense, only so that Atreus would be tempted to return to Asgard because Odin was more understanding of him.
I feel for Atreus, you can see he really felt awful for freeing Garm. I really appreciate Kratos here, he didn't yell or scream at Atreus or made him feel any worse for the mistake he made, instead he console's his son and helps him fix his mistake.
Kratos knows about screwing up big time. Fortunately, unlike those other times, he and Atreus have the power to fix it.
Not even Kratos knew what Garm was, yet knowing his own son and knowing that he saw a chained up animal in Hel and the he also didn't know what Garm was, he knew exactly why he set him free. well except garm and fenrir are completely separate in myth, with fenrir being raised among the gods as a puppy and just grew to gigantic proportions on his own. I like how you can see odin get slightly frustrated that giving up the mask and sword didn’t stop him from leaving
Yeah after Atreus hands Ingrid back to Odin - with great care to treat it kindly - Odin just tosses it carelessly onto the bed. You can tell he's absolutely fuming that Atreus is leaving but has to keep it under wraps to keep up appearances.
Mimirs instant “GARM?!” Kills me everytime
I wondered how they would turn the mostly sweet child from the first game into the god of mischief. Atreus' intentions are always pure, and yet he accidentally causes chaos everywhere he goes. I think maybe that's his curse, and seeing as it's his life goal to help people, it'll torment him as he grows up. Like Kratos' curse.
"No good deed goes unpunished."
Thats honestly would be an interesting character arc for atreus if they decided to go that route in the future, helping people will be his downfall
The moment Mimir reacts, you can just see the feeling of defeat come over Atreus. Here's a person whose judgment he holds in high regard, having a reaction like that when he never really has before, I'd probably feel like that too.
It makes me so happy to see Kratos’ progress as a father. Despite all the strife between him and his son, he trusts Atreus unconditionally when it matters most and pledges to help fix his mistake. Very few words yet he says so much
I love how Kratos was very forgiving of Atreus. I believe that he was proud of Atreus for not having given into Odin’s honeyed words and knowing when he needed to regroup and ask for help. Kratos didn’t need to force Atreus to come back to him because Atreus was loyal to his father and came back on his own.

Well that's what he does he's a manipulator. He's just being composed and understanding cause he still needed atreus' help. Deep down he's freaking out.
Yeah, the 9 realms were in jeopardy with Garm being released, Atreus made a serious mistake.
But:
- Neither Mimir, Freya or Tyr mentioned Gram _at all,_ prior to this. (Mimir had _plenty_ of time beforehand to at least mention him to Atreus)
- Odin could've at least _informed_ him of Garm before sending him to Helheim
- Everyone was quick to judge but were as slow as snails to offering help for Atreus (except for Odin and Kratos, Odin let him do what he had to do and Kratos actually went to fix his mistake as father and son).
_Everyone_ was at fault here for their own reasons, not just Atreus.

@@itsharibonph I still believe that Tyr, Mimir and Freya could've directed their words to him better (I know reality-wise, it's just their Scripts doing the work that could've been done better). You should only be pissed at something or someone for so long before thinking of ways to remedy, if not eliminate the issue at hand. Especially when it's this big of one. (Even Ratatoskr tells the Duo to hurry up back to Hel to undo what they've done instead of pinning them there for longer with a verbal tirade [you can speak to him after closing the hel-gates at sindris house])
Atreus came back seeking help _first_ before getting reprimanded, because there wasn't enough time for him to sit there and be yelled at. (Kratos knew this. He was _better_ than that)
When someone admits to making a mistake, big or small, fix it first. Speak to them afterward. They've punished themselves in their mind for it already. (Any person who owns up to their mistakes will always be ready to take responsibility of their consequences once the immediate issue is resolved)
@@itsharibonph i wouldn't say they were pissed.. more like surprised and terrified... ...but I'm baffled that all they did was whining. They could have helped... I'm not defending atreus here BUT they could have at least mentioned it they had all the time in the world to do it. Every world has some rules that everyone musy go along with. Not freeing Garm is one of them here amd no one said a word
@@itsharibonph Atreus is very sympathetic to animals.
Kratos knows this, Freya knows this, Mimir knows this, Heimdall knows this(by locking eyes he can read your exact intentions feelings, even your own history), multiple people know this.
Yet they don't give the PETA lover, a basic pep talk how hey "Hey theres a really scary wolf that can literally destroy reality, please DO NOT free it, I know it sounds like it wants to be free, but it wants to be free so it can destroy everything"
Not to mention Heimdall was there to supervise them and then proceeded to ignore everything they did then complain about it after
Kratos is like "Giant hel beast? Eh wouldn't be my first. Come on son, ill show you how to fix this."

bro I cant
mimirs reaction here is funny as hell 🤣
edit: I also cant stop laughing at the fact that everyone is freaking out on how big atreus messed up xD
like even Odin was like "that was a BIG mistake"
I blame the adult for not telling the animal-loving kid that this animal is chained for a reason.
I like how the situation was so dire, even Ratatoskr at the end of the video started cussing, even when his “bitterness” is separated from his body.
First they gang up on him for going to Asgard and now they gang up on him for freeing Garm.
