thats kinda my pet peeve with the runenr sequels, along with a few smaller things like the HUD being missing and not changing effects depending on what mode youre on. It could just be me wanting another bit trip game that keeps the original style from the original 6 games, regardless runner3 still holds up well for a rhythm/platformer game.
