Can we take a moment and appreciate the jealousy well-played by the polish princess from 1:25 onwards. made my day. love the drama and details going on
Plenty of praise for the principals, and it's wholly justified - they are both gorgeous, but can I'd like to add a detail.... Notice Beatrix Stix-Brunell as the Polish Princess, seated on the stage left. The expression on her face - if looks could kill! Brilliant acting. "Who is this imposter trying to steal our Princess?"
@@laurajohnson833 I love how even through she’s covered in red and gold she still can’t take the attention from the prince to Odile. Her obnoxiously large crown and gold color make it seem like she was the one to steal his heart (if Odette didn’t exist) IF Odile didn’t show up. It’s like she was expecting to win, and was a strong contender as she’s in a tutu and not full length dress as well
As lovely as Vadim and Marianela are, this set is COMPLETELY STUNNING! John Macfarlane has created this beautifully opulent scene and I am here for it. What a great new production!
I saw this production when it was broadcast to cinema's,the costumes and sets are wonderful and there is sort of prologue anda new finale which add to the beauty of the whole thing.
It was amazing. They managed to make it switch so quickly from opulence to decay the moment Siegfried declared his love for Odile. I don't know how they managed it.
They shift the lighting during that final lift, that's how they make it look so suddenly dark and dreary. Odette's fate is sealed, and the lighting reflects it.
utterly obsessed with her wicked little glance back at her father at 1:27, and the smaller one at 1:42. she's got the prince hook, line, and sinker and she knows it.
All the little things, like when she glances at Rothbart at the end for confirmation of her triumph, and THEN elegantly flings her arm and head backwards.😌
I didn't think I could love a partnership more than Marianela with Thiago, but I think "Vadream" has most certainly become my new favourite. He's just... perfection. And the two of them together... perfection squared!
My most favourite Male Dancer, no one like him to me. His Tours Spins Elevations and Cabrioles to die for, always with a joyous smile except Act2 Giselle. 👑❤️🌹💯
The thing I'm most grateful for in Liam Scarlett's production (aside from the corps de ballet finally getting tutus) is the principals standing out against the background in Act 3. The old background was pretty and all but it was so dark, the dancers blended into it...
he really looks his shoes are enchanted with feather falling. hes so graceful i mean how the heck do you slowly come down from jumping the aerodynamics are amazing i love this.
I think that Marianela is the best Black Swan I have ever seen. At the end of her perfectly timed and executed fouettes, she still has the presence of mind to smirk at the Prince. Her port-de-bras is perfectly controlled throughout the fouettes. She also makes the most of every bit of choreography that the coda contains. Absolutely fantastic, world-class dancing: wow!
my favorite thing about this production is that the incredibly acted jealousy of the other princess' during the entire ball act after odile shows up, which you can catch a small bit of around 1.25 ! Small details really bring the entire show to life
Marianela and Vadim make this look effortless which is just incredible and the fact that you can see the "who the eff is this chick" written all over Beatriz Stix-Brunell's Polish Princess' face (not to mention getting to see Romany's expressive beauty as a cygnet and in the exquisite corps de ballet) and the performance by the orchestra... just, omg there's a reason this is hands down my favorite production of Swan Lake.
Thank you for posting Marianela and Vadim dancing this difficult choreography with obvious expertise but also pleasure. Both dancers are wonderful. C❤❤❤
I saw him once I think in El Conol in Argentina and wow did he jump, he wasn’t even the main character and everyone was clapping every time he was on stage. Next day the performance was on the news, truly amazing.
Mind blowing. Nunez sticks like magic in one spot even as she does 7000 fouettés! Her precision and dynamic stretch into every gesture is captivating. And Muntagirov, well. Just gorgeous.
I know next to nothing about ballet and usually find it kind of boring, but what I just watched has me mesmerized and fascinated, and that is honestly the highest praise I can give them both.
At the top of those jumps, he seemed to hover in the air for a moment! And how she did all those spins in a row and didn't get dizzy amazes me. This entire piece is danced with stunning grace and skill!
They both are such a wonderful dancers and if I can say a perfect duo as they look so beautiful together. It was such a pleasure to see this in cinema.
I've always loved this part of the ballet, when I was young I was part of my city's Swan Lake's performance (I just stood near the queen during act I) but we didn't show up until the end of act III, so my friends and I always watched this part, counting the fouettes. It was wonderful, really wonderful.
As all-around stunning as Odile's performance was, the Prince took my breath away. He was so masterful that when Odile entered, I barely noticed. When she did, I blinked: "Who's this?"
i'm late to this, but my gosh is Vadim absolutely fantastic!! The poise, those perfect turns! And that turn in the end, was absolute gold! So glad i got to watch this. ♥
My favorite pair. She is so expressive. I love his arms/hands they are so well placed so graceful and never look like he even has to think about it. Probably not describing that well lol but i know what I mean.
muntagirov's double tours are always perfectly clear and beautiful no matter if you watch this in 30 fps or 60 fps, 240p or 1080p. everything about this performance is stunning enough for me to call it perfect. and those a la seconde turns! not enough people acknowledge how difficult it is to do triple a la seconde turns with such long legs and classic technique. both of their legs must have been dying after all that.
I love how at 1:44 she gets a look on her face that says "Whew, I did it" which you could interpret as the dancer's relief that she managed this difficult dance or you could interpret as the chacter's relief that she managed to fool the prince.

That finish is exquisite. Chills when she pulls her hand away in that last moment and places it triumphantly away from the prince.
Valerie Pagendarm yes. perfection.
Gave me chills and brought me to tears! Exquisite!!!
I screamed!!!! It was the cherry on top.
Valerie Pagendarm she was all like, “gotcha bitch” lol
That feature is a hint that that is not odette
Marianela literally did not move out of place during the fouettes, she's amazing!
Marina Koria I thought I was the only one that noticed! She stayed in the same spot the entire time. Now that’s a prima ballerina.
Absolutely amazing
If you look closely, she did.
No traveling and perfect form, what a beautiful performance
@@Steven-hq4mb yep, I also noticed. There is a black dot next to her foot, if one concentrates attention on it, one can see when she moved
Whenever I feel cocky and arrogant, I watch this to emphasize to myself how talentless I am, then I immediately become humble again.
Lmaoo
I'm considering to do this regularly from now on
Hehe, how can you be humble if you have nothing to show off in the first place? 😅
@@Karina-kp5fx by having nothing to show off is how I humble myself. Next.
Lmao, I like you ;)
The prince is like anti gravity dancing. How?
She’s amazing too, she doesn’t travel at all while doing the fouettes.
I BELIEVE I CAN FLY ~~~~~
i literally had that exact same profile picture when i was i fourth grade
@@jamilla777 oof
I move like all over the place 😂
ikr
Okay, he's not dancing. He's flying
Yes. He is Mercury of the winged sandals... no human can fly like that.
He is FLAWLESS.
Yeah same thing. :)
Lol
I BELIEVE I CAN FLY ~~~
Love her smirk after finishing the 32 fouettes, like "hell yeah, nailed it!" :D
Which is in line with the Black Swan's character haha
@@CountryCowboy008 She's an arrogant sorceress after all 😃
What timestamp?

YESSS!
Can we take a moment and appreciate the jealousy well-played by the polish princess from 1:25 onwards. made my day. love the drama and details going on
I went back, Beatriz has a stunningly expressive face.
Nice catch, that's hilarious!
Haha thanks for pointing it out, Beatriz is just great! One of my favourite dancers with the royal ballet.
Love her
I also like how she gave Siegfried a "You're regret this later on!" look, which ultimately becomes a foreshadowing moment for Siegfried.
I love the smug look the black swan dancers always have after they finish that turn sequence.
It's part of the character.
She deserves to feel smug, she is amazing.
As they should lol
If you can do 32 fouettes in a row, you've EARNED a bit of smugness, I say.
"Yep, I'm THAT bitch."
Can we just appreciate _her lines_ at that final pose. _Her lines._
I dont get it
@@mamtasahu286 as in, the lines and angles she makes with her torso and limbs
Truly brilliant, the entire interpretation!
Perfect angle.. X3
Haven't seen a finish better than this.

*prince
That expression is priceless. #Mood
Oh, yes - you can 100% read the "who the eff is this chick?!" on her face during the entire act. Beatriz Stix-Brunell is a treasure.
I just truly love Beatrix!!

The boy dances like he is flying through the air, and the girl is like the spinning ballerina on a musical box, but better! Impressive and beautiful!
I love that last flourish with her hand. It's like a magician after she's pulled off her trick and the audience has bought the illusion. Bravo.
when odile came out i started whooping and cheering cos U ALREADY KNOW WHATS ABOUT TO GO DOWN
Sarah Vera SAME
What
Lmaooo yes
And tha smirk when she finishes them is EVERYTHING.

I still can't believe I saw them live. It was the best Easter Monday of my life❤
Dove l’hai vista la Nunez?

Here’s the iconic 32 fouettés💙
I did count 34
Tremendous 32. Must be right. ❤️🌹👑
Yea but they say it is supposed to be 32😅😊
@@shirleykarrutheos7392 you technically say 32 because it is four counts of 8 (four phrases) of turns... How you fill those four counts is the magic.
WHEN SHE DID THE BADASS 32 FOUTTES AND THEN WALKED AWAY SMILING LIKE IT WAS NOTHING
As lovely as Vadim and Marianela are, this set is COMPLETELY STUNNING! John Macfarlane has created this beautifully opulent scene and I am here for it. What a great new production!
I noticed that as well! Some sets are so bland! Not that they need to steal the show, but it doesn't hurt!

No-one like Va(dream). I know the level of his extremely hardwork. Stretches himself to the max workwise. Non Stop. Deserves much acclamation👑🌹
Definitely the best partnership in ballet. They create magical together
Never have I seen a male dancer so graceful! He looks like he's just floating!
THAT suspension at the end.... marianela is killing it! she is totally in control.
Vadim is so elegant ♥ perfect lines ♥

Her fouettes are beautiful ❤️
her hands are awful. She is too old for this role.
@@swampfolk2526 her hands are awful? Now thats a joke, stop being a hater honey

Wow! Vadream too, not an inch out of place. They are both so elegant, I could watch them all night. Matchless ballet pairing made in heaven.
calmest fouettes i have ever seen. also very technical, I absolutely loved them!
His fluidity is like water and he's so graceful, wow.
