I have always been anti-clutter, junk, but am just starting on this journey. I am simplifying which means dishes to do load one a week instead of just 2 place settings which I would need to wash daily. I kind of feel like that is a daily, but it is the most simple approach. Thoughts?
I love your perspective on minimalism. I’m constantly on the minimalism journey, but I’m not sure if I’m ever going to get to my ‘destination’ (and I think that’s kind of the point). I have lots of kids too, so what we need in life changes from season to season, so my perspective on what’s minimalistic to us changes as well.
I think I embraced minimalism even more once I realized there wasn’t a perfect destination - allowed me to really focus on the present and finding what worked best for us!
When I first began to simplify, I often thought that I was creating ‘white-space’ in my life. When problems arose, I was so grateful to have the extra room in my mind for dealing with them because I had already created the ‘white -space’. Blessings on you vacation.:)
I absolutely love this video and decided to take notes-and ended up basically writing down what you said word for word, haha! I’m so glad I’ve come across your page and can’t wait to watch the rest of your videos! Thanks for sharing your take; it has actually brought me a sense of calm as opposed to feelings I’ve previously felt around trying to simplify my apartment as much as possible (to make my life as an adult easier due to ADHD getting in the way so often!). It lessens the pressure, and makes me think of the process as giving my self a “gift”! Thanks again!!
Even though I live alone, I have found 6 is the number for flatware, plates and bowls. This allows me to run my dishwasher once a week full. Better for the environment and simpler.
It’s definitely not a look that everyone would like. To be fair though, we aren’t done with it yet. We will be adding a pair of wood floating shelves on either side of the window and a backsplash. All in time ❤️
Thanks for watching! Have you had these preconceptions about minimalism?

That’s very very true! I’ve never thought of it that way! 😊

I’m so glad this video helped you to see a new perspective! All the best on your journey! ❤️
I agree with your point of you. Mindset and feelings are important, not the objects. Thank you for this video.
Thank you for watching! ❤️
This was a great video! I wrote a blog post a while back entitled My Definition of Minimalism and I made some similar points. Thanks for sharing!💗

Thanks so much! I am very much looking forward to a bit of down time! :)
Wow, the kitchen looked so sterile, uninviting. No way.
