After my divorce, I was forced to leave behind so many hoarded items, and it changed my life. 10 years later, I live in a tiny apartment with a river view that I love! I am thrilled that what I have are really just the things I love and I am so grateful to have recently found your channel, has you inspire me to continue to declutter on a regular basis. It just feels so amazing! Thank you!
We have done so much decluttering, I am to the point in some categories to get new things, to replace some old worn out items. It's exciting to get something new without it being an additional clutter item. Thanks for the sharing some decluttering ideas we often overlook.
Yes! That is why I think this time of year is the perfect season to declutter! I know that I am putting new bath towels on my Christmas wish list! ❤️ thanks for watching!
You have done great for yourselves. I understand the fact that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, but investing today is a hard thing to do for me now because I have no idea of how and where to invest in. I would be happy if you could advise me based on how you went about yours, as I am ready to go the passive income path.
You mentioned DVDs. I recently took an entire cabinet (3 shelves) of DVDs, removed the plastic cases and downsized them to one zippered case, the size of a book. I couldn’t declutter them because they belong to my husband. He is not a minimalist.
That trick has worked well for me many times in the past as well! It feels so good to know that someone’s day was probably made finding those treasures! ❤️
‘Rocks or sticks’ hahaha….yep, you know boys! I had to make a rule about storing rocks outside on the rock retaining wall and sticks should be hidden outside where I can’t find them!
It's not just boys. My girl has a huge rock and stick collection she won't let go of. Plus made an "aquarium" for her marine animal toys out of a Tupperware container that also needed a home, lol.
Those towel and bath mats are always needed by animal shelters and veterinaries. One vet told me that the towels are a godsend. Blankets too. Just be sure to contact them to make sure they can use them.
Thank you for this! I wonder, would you consider doing a photograph decluttering video? I’m facing an ENORMOUS photo and sentimental items organising task and I’d really appreciate your thoughts :)
I actually did a video that talked quite a bit about photos and other sentimental items. If you haven't seen it - you can watch it here: ruclips.net/video/13E-cbQH3Ao/видео.html
I'm making progress. I'm down to only the sentimental items left and Christmas decor. I think I will use my hope chest as the limit for my sentimental items.
I agree with a lot of your decluttering ideas. I get stuck though not knowing what to do with the things I do not want or need. Example: honing down photos? Just throw them in the trash?
Photos are probably the toughest of all for me. I love them so much! That being said…yes. If you have duplicate pictures or a picture that is blurry, and you have others that are better representations that you want to keep; you can certainly throw them! ❤️
I brought my cast off photos to thanksgiving with the family and laid them out on the table and said Take what you want. The remainder, I pitched in the trash.
I love videos on decluttering motivation, thank you for this wonderful content! Even though both my husband and I enjoy living minimally, we cannot agree on one item that takes up space in our home...my wedding dress from 29 years ago. We have two adult sons so I am not saving it for anyone, but it has sentimental value to me. My husband says to just donate it. Can you please address our wedding dresses in a future decluttering video? Maybe there are other women who don't know what is the best thing to do with their wedding dress either. Thank you! 🤗
Good idea! I have had a similar struggle with my dress actually! I was about to donate it a few years ago but my mom thought I might regret it so she took it to her house to store there. I hade thought of saving it and having it made into baptismal outfits (a couple different styles maybe) that our grand kids could wear on their baptism days. I’ve also heard of people who donate the dress to be made into burial gowns for premature infants who didn’t survive ❤️
My mom took mine and made a decorative wedding pillow for my bed with the date stitched on. Then also made each of our kiddos stocking for Christmas out of it.
I donated mine the week after my wedding 😂 I have never ever missed it. I think of the woman who may have found it and wore it at a fraction of the price, or the Halloween costume it may have been. Either way, I smile. But ultimately it’s your dress to keep or donate. Not anyone else’s decision.
My marriage was a dumpster fire, but I still kept the dress because I loved it so much! It's probably still holding me back from moving on fully... I should probably sell it...
I am having same issue with the wedding dress. I have 2 grown boys they have no use for it. I was told of a website that needs wedding dresses for girls that don't have much to spend on a wedding I would be ok donating for them.
It’s true that usually canned goods can last much longer than their date. I guess for me, the idea is that if I’ve had a can of something for such a long time and not used it….probably means it doesn’t need to be taking up space in my cabinets. I know a lot of people do have long term food storage though - in which case canned goods might sit for quite a long time. ❤️
I watch other channel that said to pretend I'm dying😢we don't want to leave a burden unwanted for.family members that is gonna be trashed anyway so get rid of it b4 we ready to go with GOD!!can't take it to Heaven 😢
bedroom side table lamp…not used? mine is on a timer to go on at night in the dark winter, but even now it’s a lamp i turn on before bed, and then i read….no one else is using a bed side table? didn’t know this
Do you have anything to add to the list? Let's chat!

Me as well! I want to start decorating and replacing some items that are VERY worn! My issue is that I don't like shopping or know how to deorate 😒

Great job with your wife! I bet you’re living your best life right now.
I’m a young dad, I’m really glad to hear your story it inspires me. can you share how you earn weekly.
Always looking forward to ideas for stuff to declutter. I just decluttered numerous shoes.
Shoes can get out of control quickly! ❤️

That’s a great tip! And surely the collection now takes up much less space!
I did this too! It’s a great way to free up space!
I did that, and discovered I really like reading the descriptions in the case. 😮
There are things that we keep in the “May be” category and those are in abundance
That’s a tough category! ❤️
The Minimal Mom calls this the "time will tell" box. After a while, you'll know what to keep and what not.
I try to put the decluttered things outside at a place where lots of people can see them. They are usually gone by next day!😂
That trick has worked well for me many times in the past as well! It feels so good to know that someone’s day was probably made finding those treasures! ❤️
‘Rocks or sticks’ hahaha….yep, you know boys!
I had to make a rule about storing rocks outside on the rock retaining wall and sticks should be hidden outside where I can’t find them!
Ha Ha! Yep! I’m always amazed at what they choose to keep around! ❤️
It's not just boys. My girl has a huge rock and stick collection she won't let go of. Plus made an "aquarium" for her marine animal toys out of a Tupperware container that also needed a home, lol.
I left your video message, went to my closet and filled 2 garbage bags… ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That’s great! Keep working hard! The effort will be worth it! ❤️

Such a great way to donate! ❤️
Our local SPCA gets a ton of donations in the Spring.
I had to stop the video and check out some of the things you mentioned and got very motivated to declutter them, haha. thanks!
That’s awesome! That was my hope with this video…to generate ideas!
i love decluttering !
Same! And I love doing it this time of year! ❤️
I just found this channel! Love it- sooooo practical not that extreme decluttering stuff😊. Great ideas!! -Linda S.
Thanks for the encouragement! ❤️

Yes, toss them. We have an unwanted stuff area in our apartment building. I have placed lots of stuff there and taken a couple of spring rods. 👍
Hi from Ireland! Love your ideas, thank you!💚
Hello! Thanks so much for watching! ❤️
Oh no! Nope! Need my rice cooker! I use it a lot. Hate cooking rice on the stove, too messy. 😁
Ha ha! I feel that way about certain kitchen appliances I have kept too. We all have our own favorites! ❤️

Thank you for sharing your wisdom .
Great list!❤
Thank you!
Just want to let you know when food has a date, but that doesn't mean it's bad. I use food past the date. Though I would share
Yes, some food past the date is still very much edible, I agree. ❤️
True/the animal shelters take Xtra linen, towels, mats etc😢🎉
Great! ❤️
add college and high school yearbooks to the photographs and albums
I don’t think I ever purchased a college yearbook, but I did in high school! ❤️
Hi from Kansas

Hi Angela! Do you have a PO Box for fan mail?
I don’t! But it’s sweet of you to think of me! ❤️
Thank you!

Hey!!! Where'd you get that cute wicker basket at 4:32?
The one in the kitchen drawer? It was from Target! I think maybe the hearth and hand collection? ❤️

It’s awesome that plants can help with that! ❤️

I love your youtube channel.
Awe, thank you so much! ❤️
THANKYOU
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Most foods don’t expire they have a best by date not an expiry date. Usually dried and canned foods last for years.

People still use bed side tables! We have a pair in our bedroom! ❤️
Old tax returns, only save the last 7years. Shred the rest!
That’s a good practice for sure! ❤️
