The concept of street food is so fascinating to me, because it just doesn't exist where I'm from. The closest possible thing is fair food or a greasy hot dog vendor in the city, but that's all overpriced, so is it really a comparison? My mouth was salivating watching all of this!

When living in Okinawa/Japan in the early 90s; I ate everything Yaki. I was never disappointed. miss it.
Osaka definitely has some of the best out there. This had to be one of the episodes made, and must have been fun watching how busy the night life in Japan is
I agree. The best part about traveling outside the US is how walkable everything is. 20k steps in a day is easy and it makes me feel less self conscious about pigging out 😂

Just got back from my Japan trip Id love watching your japan videos and i could trace back the enjoyable moments through the video. I even got a few of the same foods as ChefPK. Japan is by far my favourite country!
Love all of those food. When I was stationed in Yokosuka enjoy these a lot. Community and Base Festivals around were I lived was a great place to find these.

Yes!! I loved Dotonburi in August.. we had an absolutely disgusting amount of food and loved all of it. I could do withpit the 115 degrees and 100% humidity though 😅😅.

For us Osaka is the one place we couldn't vibe with in Japan. Yes the food was good, but the food was good everywhere in Japan and Osaka wasn't better. The best experiences were usually in the countryside in small places where you could also chit chat with the locals and vibe. Furthermore Osaka was less clean than the rest and it was too modern but in a bad way. The rest of Japan blends traditional vibes with temples and old architecture and modern vibes with trains and so on together really well. In Osaka I was kinda missing the tradition.
I still had a great time and ate increadible crepes, but compared to the rest it just wasn't it. Although I do think that this is not really Osakas fault, but rather ours. Everywhere else we had time and or new people and could just go away from the touristy places and just enjoy a more intimate perspective, in Osaka we only had a day and decided to tour the classic tourists spots. So it's probably on us that we found it to be too touristy.
Happy you enjoyed it though!
TLDR: time your time and enjoy non touristy spots, they have great vibes :D
