Mike, Awesome video and content as always! I like the grill guards and will need them when I get mine, so thanks for posting this. You are blessed to have a guy like Mark as a neighbor. What a nice gesture to give you the thoughtful gifts! You guys make a great team with some fun videos and I enjoy watching them. Great job, guys!
Thank you Doug, I appreciate your kind words and support as always sir! I totally agree, God has blessed me with great neighbors and Mark is amazing! 👍😊
Love that lift! Perfect install Mark. Nice job. I like your attention to detail with getting the guard even with the fins and hidden zip tie on that little bracket. Nice job filming this one Mike.
Mike love your videos! I love seeing your passion for the Corvette and how you interact with your neighbor Mark!. Love your Captain America C8 and I wish you the best with your C8 repair which I believe will be done professionally for sure. I've got my 2022 C8 2LT HTC Torch Red on order (via Morgan Crosbie in Canada) and expecting it just around 2022 spring time. Thanks again for your dedication and keeping Corvette enthusiasts like me excited!
Thank you Mike, I’m happy you enjoy them. I hope it’s done soon for sure, but yes, it will be done professionally. You’re welcome, it’s my pleasure. 👍😊
Great video as always Mike! Glad to see Neighbor Mark go with the radiator protection and also benefit from your donation of the Z51 splitter. How are you guys able to modulate the space time continuum to talk and work faster? LOL
Awesome job Mark and Mike! Car is looking even better!! Can’t wait until mine arrives. Mike and Mark…are you adding the front strut covers? Thank you for your comments. 👍🏻👊🏻
Will installing those affect the warranty? It’s my understanding that they wanted max airflow through those radiators and that’s why they didn’t include any kind of guard.
Instead of the zip ties. couldn't you use the 3 screws in that splitter? I can't tell if the screen if flat against the splitter, but you could use longer screws and a spacer on the back.
i do like these if tall enough to park a car under. How ever I like my 2 post from greg smith equipment, it's tall enough to put my mustang up in the air all winter and park wrx under it. Now it will be the c8 one day on the lift with mustang under it.
LoL me and this man would get along just fine. I'm 100% sure I have zip ties on the mustang holding NO2 line and zip tie holding my quick release oil drain from moving to unlocked on my wrx
I just received a set but have yet to install. I'll be jacking up the car one side at a time. Anyway, I'm concerned about cooling on long drives on a hot day (90+ deg.) and track days. I'm no Tommy Milner, but still...
Yes you need a highlift track for your garage door opener. A 9 foot ceiling is a squeeze but can be done. 10 foot ceiling is what my garage is. Best thing I ever did.
@@neighbormark yes it was a great idea. I have ten foot ceilings but garage door is normal seven feet. I did not think it through at the time. What is an approximate estimate of the cost? Thanks.
Totally agree on some key points: 1) Zip ties work and are not tacky if you cannot see them unless extremely close up. I also installed the screens in the two middle sections of the front. 2) The Paragon screens are very nice, but pricey and involved a more difficult install. I used their pieces for the side vents near each door. 3) I think it is important to KEEP the ability to reach the frunk button. Yes, it can be opened a couple of other ways, but I find the button the most convenient for all the times I need to open it. I am bit disappointed you feel the need to have the "Z51 look"....I am happy with the C8 look. Lastly, how high are your ceilings in your garage?
There is a video we’re Tage says the grill cut airflow tone coolers and they have tested them and can’t give approval on any so far. They also don’t recommend ru. G track with them at all.. Rick con tie has the video on one of his tech Tuesday uploads
2016 -2019 you could get the “Z51” look as an optional wing on the non Z51 car. So far not so on the C8….I just like the look because that is how I first saw the C8 at the reveal in 2019.
If the mesh was in colors such as black or red, it would look better. After Sema, the C8 actually can look better than Lamborghinis entire lineup but it needs to be accented to show how angular the car really is. Nobody on the internet is talking about how GM is actually putting the majority of car companies to shame on looks alone, but other than your car wrap its few and far between that are taking advantage of it.
What do you think? About what the chief engineer from GM said about putting anything over the radiators, after market mesh, grills etc. “ if something goes wrong with the cooling system you are on your own” Basically It voids your warranty.
Could you possibly address some videos I’ve seen including one from a GM rep stating the C8 trans temp must stay in a very close temp range, & putting these guards on may raise trans temp due too lack of air flow !!
Thanks for the great video you two knuckleheads! However, I can’t believe GM has not addressed this issue for the 2022 version. That is poor design. Also, I can’t bring myself to zip tie parts to such a nice car. Just seems so tacky to me.
I know - I thought the same thing about zip ties. It sounded tacky and cheap. But after looking at others who had them installed it seem to me reasonable especially in the way you can hide the zip ties.
@@neighbormark Thanks Mark! GM should really address this at the factory. I wonder if the ZO6 with ZO7 package will require a truck load of zip ties and mesh to save all the air intakes…
I'm not an engineer. Looking at those grill guards, I bet you are restricting air flow by maybe 25%. You do have mass there. I saw an interview with Tadge about 9 months ago. Someone asked about the grill guards. He said if you have over heating issues, it won't be on GM's dime. My C8 cooling temp runs 175 -185. Two weeks ago in heavy traffic on a 95 degree day. My temp climbed to 210. The highest I ever noticed. I'm not a fan of restricting air flow.
I hate houses with garage doors on the front. I will never understand why people buy houses like this. The former architect in me hates the greed of builders who only use those designs to build as many homes as possible cheaply - and ignore the poor design of homes like this. Plus it clutters up the look of the neighborhood when people park outside the garage. It also limits privacy when you open your garage. I just hate it - don't buy houses like this ever. Nice grill guards.

Those guards should be standard from the factory. What the hell GM.
What a great mod Mark! Kudos to Mark's film crew too!😉 Save the Wave👋

Nice job. I don't have a lift but now they are making the sticky grill guards with a slot so you can still open the frunk.
I’ve seen those….let us know if you try them….
Great Video !
Thanks!
Looking good, I agree Chevy should’ve done this from the factory regarding the radiator grills.
Thank you, yes they should have. 👍😊
Would be interesting to know if the airflow is decreased at all.
Great video. Those guards are a must. Thanks Mike and Mark

How does that lift work with roll-up garage doors
For a standard garage door you do need to get a highlift track. I’m sure it’ll work with other garage doors.
Scrape Armor-grill Screens=Best
Did you get to put screens on the radiators in the big air scoops behind the doors?
I have not decided to do that yet! I may dot this at a later date.
