Mathew James The bright ring that you hear in his voice is what we in the opera world call “squillo”. It’s achieved by the voice resonating off of the hard surfaces of the vocal tract, like the hard palate, etc.
Mathew James It is absolutely encouraged. It’s how a voice carries in a 3,000 seat opera house without a microphone. It’s a sign of acoustical balance, rather than muscular thrust. All four of these guys do it well, but Jakob has it in spades.
@dvleiva1 someone used to say, if you can’t say anything nice ,don’t say anything at all. Rasmus is a multi gold medal winner with various quartets ,an accomplished arranger and has recently directed Zero8 to a bronze medal at Internationals, so I’d say he’s pretty good.
I grew up with this song. It's so catchy! ☕ My dad was the tenor so I always loved his little break out solo. 💜
This song is deceptively easy to sing.
My choir sang the choral arrangement of this. Beautiful piece. I love the energy
I’m glad I came back to this cause damn it’s still so good 😭😭😭😭😭😭
The bass...... Where he says percolator...
0:54 Yes! Martin Wahlgren is an awesome bass.

Janyse Cendejas I donn wannnaaaaaa
I need to talk to Jakob about palate resonance. Dude has some serious metal in his voice.
Boris Van Druff What makes you say that? Just curious for some insight.

Boris Van Druff is that generally frowned upon or encouraged in that community, because I do like his tone?

Boris Van Druff Thanks for the info, appreciate it.
this one was my favorite one from them i still have my signed sweatshirt from them when i did barbershop.
They performed this song tonite! It was awesome!
That perfect slide at 2:12 was cool, but the fact they actually hit falsetto so well is AWeSOME to me
There is an arrangement, When I was very active in the mid 80's there was sheet music for it, and one of our quartets sang it.
It was fun to sing this in our school's vocal jazz ensemble!
Wow back when Martin's hair was kinda normal
Every singer just nails their part, whilst blending at such an impressive level. These guys are really, just incredible
OMG the best acapella cover ever!!!
I’m on a deep dive in the internet right now… and I don’t regret a single minute of it now!
Bluegrass Student Union arrangement? You guys pulled it off well!
AMAZING!!! THIS ME FAVORITE SONG!! I LIVE COFFE!!!!!!!!!
da was phenomenal!
These guys are fantastic !!! ♥♥♥♥
We are doing this song in my small choir and I am a back up for a solo.
AWESOME !!!!
A great rendition of Java Jive. Brings back great memories of Amherset College Zumbyes, 1981/82
Who made that sound? :)
awesome
oh my GOD that was fucking epic!!!!!!!!
Great sound!
the main reason i searched the song is cuz my choir is performing it at wsma in march
Hope these guys can stick together.
Sucks that martin had to leave. He will be remembered
Beautifully sung, a well deserved title!
May I ask whose arrangement is this?
Hi Gabriel,
Rasmus Krigström says it was woodshedded by the BSU. So it's nobody's arrangement.
Yeah!
I remember when they performed for us at ACDA nationals
wow!!!!!
my.god.bass. *sigh*
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Who is Mrs.Olson??? Where is Mr.Moto???
Played by actress Virginia Christine, "Mrs. Olson" appeared in commercials for Folger's coffee in the 1960's and 70's.
💙💙💙💙
Cute
Great performance! But... It was flat by a semitone at the end.
I m Java( pribumi java)
This is awesome. It also isn’t barbershop. That is all.
Listen to the original…..Ink Spots….1940
Nicely done. The last chord was a little flat but overall good job
Nope. The problem is the 6th is too loud against the octave, but the pitches are fine.
The lead is disproportionately loud. Not their best job of blending.
Lead is supposed to be louder than others cause he sings the main melody.
@@gabrijellukenda1315 I understand. But this was too loud. And the blend was missing.
No
The one they should have replaced is Rasmus. He is just horrible. Get Martin back!

He is defiantly not horrible, I can assure you that
AWESOME !
