So I am randomly revisiting Starfield and want to say i like this video, the narrative and rp behind it is good, and i love that its called a tardigrade.
Thank you! I cannot take personal credit for comparing it to a tardigrade haha. A friend of mine coined the term and it got worked into the lore ;)
Sweet build as always, definitely some design ideas I'm going to try out tho i usually stick with smaller corvette style builds class b 39pwr reactor and 36 thrst grav drive with class a engines and maybe 2000 cargo just so I don't have to deal with the "small landing pad" issue. Btw thanks for the shout-out
Yeah I usually am comfortable with 2000 ish cargo. I'm at the cusp of NG+6 and tbh, having lots of mats and such doesn't matter to me as much anymore. Definitely a nice convenience however. You know me though, im always building mahoosive ships LOL. And np for the shoutout! Thank you for letting me know of that silly stormax bug! I had no idea!
It is a big beautiful ship. My biggest gripe, if you could call it that is fleet operations. The fleet can only move as fast as its slowest ship, if it wants to stay together as a fleet. Now if this behemoth is doing Independent Steaming Operations, then no problem, you can attach a Frigate if additional protection is required.
Yeah I make lots of assumptions with that to be honest lol. Im not a physicist or a thruster scientist, but I dont think there really is a speed limit in space. Or at least there shouldn't be with our thruster setups in starfield. Also really assumed that the Grav jump tech we have in universe can plot to any body in a system, so if a fleet wants to jump together then they'd be limited by whatever ship has the smallest range. Once they arrive at a planet together, then yeah the ships with the slowest top speed would limit the rest of them, but in space I really just don't think it would matter. The a, b, and c class speed limits I feel were just implemented for game balancing reasons- and also SF isn't a space simulator either lol.
Anyway, its all fun details to daydream about!
@@CMDREagle131 and really, the maneuverability will only matter during combat, so avoid combat or have enough turrets to stay alive while the 'Fleet' removes the other threats.
@@briancowan4318 yeah, that was my thought anyway. There's the Atlas-Class Surveyor, which does have plenty of mobility, and particle guns. It's also part of this line of ships, and presumed that it would also be in a UCNC fleet. It's definitely canonically not a dogfighter, but would be able to certainly take on most targets. There's a 3rd unfinished ship too, but it's also going to be a chonker lol. I had in mind for a 4th Navigator Corps-centric fighter escort ship, and I wanted to design it as an A-Class but those grav drives would hold the fleet back a lot with their bad jump range. All RP considerations I make LOL. If I DO make an escort vessel, it'd probably have to be a B-class...but I am still 50/50 on whether or not I will actually make it.
The look of the engines are amazing, I like that a lot. I had not considered placing the bridge at the bottom, so thanks for sharing that! Your video's give me so many ideas:) Thanks for another fantastic video!

Just couldn't come up with something I liked. I keep building and just reverting back to original because I'm not happy with it.
Thank you! I love those White Dwarf engines, I really wish we had similar ones in B and C class. The next UC Navigator Corps may or may not have a similar engine set up, I am still working out those details.
@@drshoots101Being first isn't necessarily important. But what is important, is designing a cool ship. Having a bottom mounted bridge just for the sake of it might have led to a design you weren't happy with. Ship design takes time! Either way, when you get one done, shoot me a ping here and let me see!

The bottom pieces at 17:00 don’t want to click for me I got the top done but the bottom wont snap
So idk what happened but it some how came out to be 51 power so i had to improvise with the engines sadly. The restrictions on the ship building is sad and limiting
I think you missing one of the ships in this fleet.

It'll take me some time I just past threw the unity and I'm playing threw enough to unlock the sal-6830's and vanguard weapons. Then hopefully by then I'll have enough credits to do the ship duplication glitch and bank a few million.
I’ve had the store max glitch on my Kepler R on my Xbox. It looked so so stupid
I haven't used the Stormax cargo holds often, so I can't say I've personally seen it on PC yet, but I'll take you guys' words for it. Sounds quite goofy lol. Those little ingot shaped Ballast cargo holds sold at Deimos, and probably all other (but dont quote me) UC ship techs sell them as an alternative to the Store maxes.
@@CMDREagle131 yeah it’s a real shame because the store max cargo looks so nice. It doesn’t happen often but then it does it looks goofy they pivot from the base and all turn the same amount and it completely killed my modified Kepler R for me on my first play through but I haven’t put them on anything recently to try it out. I love your ship builds I’ve been building a few each new game plus. Keep up the good work!
