Great demo. I bought an ultra...in my opinion it looks, feels, and plays better than any other tele out there... it's in another league. I actually love the noiseless pickups... since I can't stand any unwanted buzz or humm. I have other American teles and American standard strat and paying them side by side for hours these new noiseless pickups sounds just as organic and great as my others. People who say they don't just don't play them side by side enough... the difference is placebo... other than with noiseless you don't get the annoying buzz/humm. Everything is perfect about this guitar... it's super sleek and beautiful... doesn't have that typically canoe paddle tele feel and look... though I still like some standard tele models for sure. No need to go custom shop after playing this you won't find better... just different...

I had a really difficult time choosing between this and the American Pro II, but ended up with the Ultra (Texas Tea). I wanted the most giggable tele without sacrificing tone. The ultra has all the right features to be gigged without pain (locking tuners / contours / noiseless pickups / individual saddles). I do think the Pro II edges out the Ultra in pure tone, but not by much. I also love a vintage neck with vintage frets, but both necks felt amazing in hand and the wider compound neck on the Ultra is a little more forgiving for me when playing lead (I prefer the C neck when playing mostly chords / rhythm). The one aspect that really puts it over the top though, is the finish.... the single binding and the Texas Tea color is absolutely stunning in person. I've only played live once with the guitar so far and got a several comments on how pretty it is.

That Cobra Blue is so gorgeous. Fell in love with it in person. Texas Tea, White, and the bursts look great, too, but this blue is amazing. Not in love with the pups, but that's no uncommon for me.

I have it in Texas Tea. Tele is a versatile guitar but this brings so much more. Many friends have played it and even those that are avid “non-Tele” guys love what this guitar does and how it plays. One think not yet mentioned is the tone bypass when tone is on 10 (or is it 11?) - at max the tone control hits a magnetic point that bypasses and makes it ultra punchy.

I saw this guy had set his up where the switch was to very back and the vol and tone were in front-if that makes any sense. His idea was that he usually played either in the bridge or middle section. Also when he would tweak the volume sound for like a peddle steel sound, he would accidentally hit the switch. So in frustration, he took it to his tech and had it altered. He also took the bridge plate off and put on a through plate, so could run the strings through the bridge like an older 50s Tele. His was a Texas Tea color...which I love.

John Lennon and George Harrison had Fender Strats used in Rubber Soul, John had Rickenbacker as well as George's 12-string Rickebacker. George had self-painted Fender Strat, Teles, Gibson SG and Gibson Les Paul in maroon red.
But why they preferred to use Epiphone Casino for their 1966 world tours? Reasons:
    1. It has superb unique sound
    2. It is lighter, and
    3. They can practice their songs even unplugged before the show.

I will never understand why Fender leaves so much money on the table just by being stubborn... Ergonomic features, compound radius, locking tuners, and a gig-worthy case are exactly the features I do want. I would buy an Ultra or even a Ultra Luxe in a heartbeat, but not as long as they put these lifeless pickups into them. Imagine how good this guitar would sound with some of their twisted Tele pickups, or just the ones from the American Vintage II, especially the 63 model. Considering the cost of modifications after buying and that the resale value of these noiseless pickups is pretty much zero, that brings the total cost into areas with ample competition.
Listen Fender, I know dozens of players who want the more modern guitar, but absolutely nobody who has ever played real tele pickups wants these. Unfortunately, exactly the same is true for the Strats and Jazzmasters, well, OK, the Jazzmaster noiseless pickups are even worse - they do not even try to sound correct...

Nice guitar, but not for me. Pickups not adequate, no snap at all. Switching system is a marketing ploy-totally useless. Belly carve doesn’t belong on a Tele. Leo got it right the first time. It amazes me that Fender keeps trying to reinvent the wheel and charge so much $.
Too bad Fender can’t stamp, “Made in the USA,” on them anymore.
    Now, it’s between:
    Corona
    Mexico
    Indonesia
    China
    Japan
I am going with the MIM Telecaster , one can’t deny their work ethic. Actually, all are good, if you’re handy and can put some time in on the neck and setup. That’s basically what Fender does and they change you an arm and a leg.

Im not a fan of Fender dying the clear coat on the necks orange to give it a faux vintage appearence, it looks nothing like an aged neck, its just as cringe worthy as those fake sun tans IMO.

It’s crammed with all the dealbreakers for me. 6 saddles, sculpted heel, noiseless pickups, modern machine heads. Enough!

They feel crowded under the fingers. Too chunky. I prefer the Kluson style.

@@codythedoggo7671 It’s just full of features that I avoid. I like the simplicity of the basic Telecaster design. Six saddles look like a bridge made by a third party. Sculpting like a Jackson or an Ibanez. It’s a move away from tradition. Just things that I find are totally unnecessary. All my Teles have 3 saddles and they intonation perfectly well. Noiseless pickups? Even the term “noiseless” makes me go “uuuugh!” Battery in there to I presume? 😝

1 drop of Cobra blue mixed in with 2 gallons of cobalt blue turns into Cobra blue.

Not to be rude but the tone was very vanilla/boring the way it was put through the amp. No effects. And I know it sounds better than that. I get the possible reasons for it, but I get more out of envisioning what an instrument COULD sound like when I listen to…say…Pete Thorn. 🤷‍♂️ Just a bit more effort into the sound would help.

Hard pass. And not even the Luxe version. Sounds stale. Rather put that $ on something more innovative like ‘em Cream Guitars.
