  • This is a a install video for installing the TFL 3/16 stinger on a Proboat sonic wake 36
    This adapter plate was something I made up to convert over the stock strut to a adjustable stinger. It is recommended to use a longer flex cable so all gaping in the cable is correct. The stock cable could be made to fit but Recommended to replace it with a longer one.
    I used 148mm cable I cut down to size. 150mm will work for this Application.
    If interested I have a few more of these plates
    Stinger was Purchase from a Off shore electrics
    longer Cable was purchased from offshore electrics 3/16 .186 flex cable 18in cut down. Cable Length for this is 9 3/4 or 150mm. That size or longer that can be cut to that size.

    very clever idea you just did away with the hassle of filling the two stock holes and then drilling the four new holes for the TFL adjustable stinger.
    brilliant idea.

    Ty 4 sharing this video. Got a question for you on this install. Just woundering if you have to install a rubber tubing around the stuffing tube where it goes into the stinger so no water rides up the drive cable and enters the inside of the boat. I noticed you didn't do this on your install in this video..ty

    Has anyone done a video or installed this without the adapter, no disrespect to your product but I feel like once I see the baseplate for your adapter why am I buying the full TFL kit when I only need a few pieces of it… since your new adapter replaces basically the main part of the mount so I’m buying a piece in the TFL kit that I’m pretty much going to throw away. I should have pulled the trigger on the old adapter

    Hi, I have a boat biz stinger upgrade for my sonic wake, adjustable, the stock stinger is adjustable, so is it necessary to need replacing? The b biz stinger requires shortening the stuffing tube and trimming the grommet on the hull.

      Yes I do have these upgrades available. Now currently I have a version two now and the video referenced above is the version one that’s no longer being offered. The version t2 I have a video just recently on that one.
      The version two is offered in two different ways.
      Plate + TFL stinger + hardware
      Or. Just adapter plate only for those who have extra hardware and the TFL stinger. Email for more information and pricing at. Madlizardproducts@gmail.com

    I might be interested in that adapter plate. How can I contact you about purchasing one? Also, which TFL stinger is it...503b70, or 503b72?

      It’s the TFL 3/16 adjustable stinger 503b72 from off shore electrics. You can email here for the adapter plate madlizardproducts@gmail.com

      @@mad_lizard Will do. Will also be ordering your ESC mount from your Shapeways store. When I swapped the stock ESC for the SeaKing 180, I temporarily mounted it onto the hull, just to the right of the stock tray. For what should be obvious reasons, is "altered" the self-righting ability. That's not too say the boat doesn't still right itself...it does...it just takes approx twice as long. Getting the ESC centered again (through using your ESC mount) should resolve that "problem". Will have an email headed your way soon. Thanks.

      @@robbryan3044 changing a position you are on the right idea. Placement of components is critical to the design of that boat. Any changes in weight too upset of the flood chamber can have a negative affect. Relocating it back to the stock location will fix it. Shapeways is one place I have expand it out to them. I can also send you it direct from me.

    So what benefits are there as to running stock stinger

    • @mad_lizard
      @mad_lizard  2 года назад

      Stock stinger settings are locked into what the manufacture sets it too giving no ability to change angle positive or negative to the drive to change how the boat runs. Upgrading to a adjustable stove gives the ability to fine tune the boat with more settings. Direct the thrust point from prop up or down to add more bow up or down and more. More and more boats you see this as common with adjustability.

      @@mad_lizard oh damn ok I didn’t know that boat wasn’t adjustable. That’s how my blackjack 42 is and I’d love to be able to adjust strut angle for sure!!

    How do you like it with the stinger

    • @mad_lizard
      @mad_lizard  2 года назад +1

      Having more adjustability in the boat with a stinger really helps tune out the boat. Adding positive or negative angle to the boat you can change how the boat runs on plane as to bow angle and adjusting for lifting and non lifting props. VS the stock one you set to were the manufacture set the boat too
