    Wondering if you do a offset strut like the impulse 32 or if you go dead nut center and why one verses the other. Peace.

    • @mad_lizard
      @mad_lizard 4 дня назад

      @@robbomber984 offset will counteract if the hull has any torque roll like the impulse. Only a select a few hulls exhibit that behavior. Others don’t Preferred method is dead center for proper thrust to centerline of hull. Off set is only used if hull has an issue of the rolling issues and sometimes you will get that running very big propellers to a small hull. Example 34in hull and a 55mm prop or so then would need to offset for spinning a big prop. So it all just varies down to how big the boat is and what size propeller you will run. However, center is optimal for centerline thrust

    Yes having a hook or concave like that hull has will kill speed, due to sucking the hull to the water. You can also get the opposite in a hull that has a rocker in the hull, where the hull has a convexe or bulges out at the rear area of the hull bottom. That will cause the hull to porpoius back & forth. I also like to scuff the bottom of the hull with 400grit sandpaper back & forth direction, taking off the smooth polished surface of the hull. This reduces surface tension between the hull & water surface.

    • @mad_lizard
      @mad_lizard 7 дней назад

      @@gillian9178 yes correct. It Can cause many issues to how the boat runs. The 400 grit sand is great trick to gain an increase to performance. This allows, a 1/4 tube to pass through the 3/8 tube. Then use a steering linkage rubber boot over the 3/8 tube and 1/4 stop water from coming in. Right now I took a little bit bend out of the stuffing tube to drop down further. Right now there is a slight downward angle, but being able to move the batteries back might be work. Does look great! Don't forget to add flotation where needed, cowl etc... I like to paint the undersides of the cowl(s) and hull white. May add a tiny bit f weight but, if it helps to keep the boat from being run over... And the white paint doesn't have to be perfect.

    Very awesome. That's the only reason I didn't buy this boat cause it didn't have that feature. Wish they would make a V2 that would.

    • @mad_lizard
      @mad_lizard 2 месяца назад

      I am aware they did make some changes from when they released it to now correcting a few previous issues, especially with the trim tabs. V2 currently. Self righting is a drawback with this boat, unfortunately and how beautiful it looks in the scale does make it a drawback. Reasonings I did something like this here. And maybe this might get enough attention for them to look into an option for a V3. It’s not the first time proboat has made some changes based on my findings and fix’s

    It seems add ing the self righting now causes it to flip

    • @mad_lizard
      @mad_lizard 2 месяца назад

      The flipping I did on purpose, hitting full reverse at speed to get the boat to flip. Using the bucket reverse. Normal operation the boat is very stable and trying something new as idea as an extra reassurance for rivers and sketchy places. It’s a concept idea.

      @@mad_lizard Like the concept but slightly concerned weight up top and the degree it seems to roll in corners as in white water it would spend 1/2 it's time upside down and why I stopped when it came too close too often

    • @mad_lizard
      @mad_lizard 2 месяца назад

      @@TheS4jordan in Whitewater rapids always concerned about rolling it and then having to get it. I’ve been experimenting with something like this. This is not hundred percent confirmed and trying a different concept. Experimenting with something new. The weight was a concern when I was designing this and made it as light as possible and weighing out only 3.5 ounces. The red top is only really a cap. The cap is only 2 mm thick trying to make it as light as possible, Under the cap is a 2 inch thick foam block. The foam is what I’m trying to cover up using the cap and secure. With the idea of flotation on top for Center of balance change allowing for it to roll back over. I will post another video with detail assembly and how it’s put together with more testing in white water.

      @TheS4jordan 2 месяца назад

      @@mad_lizard get where you're coming from as had a similar idea with a balloon which I first tried inside the cockpit and whilst enough to lift the boat it wasn't enough to roll it back unless on the roof and hence the RNLI idea as it kept the weight low
