  • From Vail, continue west on Highway 70 for about 15 minutes, then exit at 167, and you will find the town Avon. Its architectural style is the same as its neighbor Vail, clean and beautiful European style.
Its public parking lots are also free. Visitors need to park their cars in these places and then walk up the mountain. One of Avon's favorite trails is the Beaver Lake trail.
In the fall ten years ago, a friend’s mine invited us to hiking this trail. Lei did not go to Beaver Lake and only spent the afternoon on the 5 Senses riverside path. We arrived at Beaver Lake before the sunset.
It is about half hour walking from the 5 Senses Trail/Elk Track Road to the starting point of Beaver Lake, the last autumn colors of this year are seen on the slopes on both sides. Vehicles are not allowed to park on this road, and walkers can walk safely in the middle of the road. The starting point of the 5Senses trail is a beautiful stone church, which is said to have built the trail 5 senses.
At the entrance of the Beaver Lake trail, there is free ice water and Snacks provided by the town of Beaver Creek.
A few minutes' walk from the entrance leads to a trail in the forest, which is always uphill. It takes three or four hours to beaver lake, and is not as difficult as the Berry Picker Trail. Along the way, I met many people walking down the mountain, however it was rare to see such a group of travelers at Berry Picker.
After more than three hours, we arrived at Beaver Lake, where we had a simple lunch and walked half a circle around the lake. There were only two or three tourists by the lake, sitting quietly on the rocks of the lake, enjoying the quiet time of this moment. When the wind calmed down, the reflection on the lake gradually emerged. A small sign is posted on the edge of Beaver Lake, prohibiting all mechanical noise and giving peaceful life to nature.
On the way back before the sun set, I still encountered two or three groups of people walking on the way to Beaver Lake. It takes about two hours to get back to the trailhead from the lake.
I felt a bit tired after walking for two consecutive days over the weekend. . .
Autumn is worth getting out and seeing the fall color in the Rocky Mountains is beautiful no matter what.
