    Welcome aboard our undisclosed airline…
    I am Captain Bryan, and our guy flying right seat this evening is Captain Spencer….
    Have no fear, we are both professionals… a comedian and an aerobatics instructor.
    Please enjoy your flight…. 😃
    You guys are sure to go far…
    Anyone can learn to fly an airliner…. Flying a plane load of critics takes experience!

    At the height of my Pilots N Paws flying it accounted for over 60% of my hours that year. My tax guy was able to factor in all direct expenses related to each PnP trip as well as 60% of my fixed costs (hangar rent, maintenance, insurance, etc.) for the year. It made for a very pleasant tax return. This was a few years into my time doing rescue flights as it accounted for more and more of my flight time each year. I flew from my home in SoCal to destinations all over the state as well as NV, ID, WA, TX, AZ and KS.

    Very much looking forward to this series. Sorry for the job troubles too. I’ve been on the receiving end of abrupt changes. Never a career change though. I applaud your bravery (and your wife’s!). We actually bought a 1959 Piper Comanche 250 for my son to get trained in and build hours. And of course for me to fly a bunch too. I might even find myself pursuing that commercial. Thanks for the tip on an instructor to get us checked out on the Comanche. You and I have a shared friend who reached out to you.

    I was going to post something about this anyway, but since you already mentioned pizza... We found this place years ago on a road trip to an event called GeoWoodstock. We were tired and hungry and the weather was about to go to crap. We were is Des Moines, Iowa, and didn't know where to eat or what we wanted, so we just told the Nuvi to ell us what was nearby. The place that caught our attention and should yours, was Fong's Pizza. The pizza to get is the Crab Rangoon Pizza. The menu says featured on The Food Network. We had it before that time. It is worthy of being on The Food Network. I'm willing to bet you'll like it better than whatever you're going to get in California. California makes wine. Iowa makes Asian inspired pizza, corn, and Iowans.

    You might consider putting the word out to Companies that pay for rapid delivery of parts for race cars, aircraft, heavy equipment, medical devices and supplies to get paid while building time. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.

      Unfortunately, he’d need a 135 certificate to do that, and the cost of getting one would far exceed the cost of just flying the -200 hours he needs.

    Just go get a job making peanuts at a part 135. You’ll have beyond atp minimum within 6 months and you’ll do it on the companies dime.

    you should get that dude to talk about charitable donations and taxes because I think you're overestimating the tax benefits for MOST people who maybe do a couple of PnP flights a year. it's not going to make much of a difference at all for your average joe pilot doing a couple flights here and there. ***I am NOT an accountant, CPA, nor am I even smart.

    • @k5sss
      @k5sss 4 месяца назад +1

      You need to have enough deductions to itemize for there to be any tax benefit to charitable flights, and that’s way harder than it was a decade ago due to the higher standard deduction, but we don’t know what other deductions Bryan has.

      That said, 200 hours in my plane is 15k in fuel alone. I bet an hour builder could could make it hurt a lot less

      @@k5sss right, totally, I wasn't prying into anyone's personal finances and whatnot, just trying to point out to people watching, a flight or two aint gonna do jack to your taxes or 'help pay for flight hours'.
