After watching this great demo, I decided to go ahead and purchase this guitar. When I received the guitar, it even exceeded my expectations. Thanks Henning, great job. Keep the attempts at humour coming.
@@AKASHSHARMA-uo4dj Ditto, my price range is slowly creeping up as realise if you're gonna spend a lot you might as well go the extra mile to get premium features. Those Charvel dk 24's seem really popular though.
AKASH SHARMA the quality is outstanding, I definitely don’t regret buying this guitar. It looks and plays amazing in person. The feel of the neck is incredibly smooth and fast.
The reason why guitars should be reviewed by HP42, because I've seen this guitar in many other videos but this is the first time I've been shown the actual finish. Henning's footage is unbeatable. I've heard this guitar before but never like this. Henning shows how it sounds. For a trem guitar it sounds warm on all of the pups. Worth waiting for. Thanks Ibanez.
I get so sad when I see a nice trem, and they review it without even putting the whammy bar in:( So much respect HP, plus very enjoyable playing there.
One of the prettiest guitars I've seen, the blue finish, the brushed(?) metal pick-up covers and the color of the fretboard all complement each other beautifully. Really, so nice. Sounds great.
I’ve always been an ESP fanboy so this kinda brings a tear to my eye. Ibanez is really nailing them hard with the Fishmans and stainless for exactly the same price.
Excellent review! My fiancé helped me get this guitar for my birthday and I absolutely love everything about it. Sounds, plays, and feels amazing. First higher end guitar I’ve ever owned.
@Arndt Bander just ordered the RG yesterday. That color is just so appealing. I use a lot of pedals so I'm hoping that'll to well with it. Thanks for the reply!! Appreciate your time.
@@danielwalker6230 it's solid. If you're a shredder or love flat necks it's perfect. Looks better in person. The pick ups are so nice too. I don't play anything hard on it, usually play with guitar pedals so it drowns the tone of the guitar. But you can definitely hear the tonal difference between this RG and a lower end one. Sometimes I feel the fretboard is too wide to play (barre) chords but that's probably me needing practice. Besides that, it feels premium, it's heavy and beautiful.
There is a special place reserved for voiced instruments. Strats, Teles, LPs, SGs etc. We really appreciate when manufacturers spend time voicing an instrument, as is the case here. Sounds rich. No need to get picky about the quilt pattern, this finish negates the scrutiny involved buying a quilted maple top. They all look equally interesting. Lovely match to the headstock, classic binding down the neck. Ibanez stability. Almost impossible to knock out of tune, Ibanez has very stable necks, with the Edge Tremolo they become 'hilariously stable', as the tension remains balanced through temperature changes. Inspiring to play, so many interesting and unique phrases effortlessly flow, as shown during the intro. Excellent presentation. Another 'must have' instrument from Ibanez.
My friend &I got Prestige models about 10 years ago, we both already had JEM 555s, which were similar price. Both of us agree the Prestige are the best guitars we have ever played, both in sound, build quality, staying in tune, everything. Better than the JEMs
I'm waiting for both the 5120 and 5220 to arrive at my doorstep. Quality wise i know about prestige. I love them all around. My only concern was what the finish would look like in more detail for both. Thanks to your quality Henning, i was literally drooling. You are awesome !!
Disappointed that the ibanez rep didn't know that the trussrod cover in the prestige line is often made of brushed and anodized aluminium 😋 other than that he knows his stuff and that Demo by Henning was phenomenal! Gotta love Ibanez
I must admit, these Fishmans sound really good, but I'm just disappointed that Ibanez discontinued H-S-H type guitars,in their Prestige line, only high-end models with this configuration are the Genesis reissues, the indonesian Premiums or the J-Customs.There was a time, you could get a Made in Japan RG,with H-S-H Dimarzios, build like a tank, that maybe didn't had a fancy top and finish, but was a high-performance,workhorse, no nonsense guitar, without paying,Made in USA prices for it. Now you pay more money for a Made in Indonesia guitar, propably made in a sweatshop owned by Samick. And don't get me started on ESP.... Well, thank Zeus, there's a huge used market online.
It’s a strategy . First, for guarantee a market for signature models with tipical HSH. Artists receives a little royalties and still to continues a relationship with Ibanez. Otherwise, Ibanez changes the goals because other companies have been growing up. (Kiesels, Chapmans etc)
I am so stoked - I just purchased this guitar from a local online dealer, and I can't hardly wait untill it arrives at my place... The time can't go fast enough :D lol -Thanks for an informative and hilarious video!! 😂👌 -AP!
Bought the Harley Benton fusion in the background, from Thomann. Landed in Stanstead Airport, in the UK, a couple of days after purchase. I like this channel a lot. And I'm here since beginning. There's a lot of "wet dream" stuff reviews, things costing several k's and pedals several hundreds, but who cares when HP delivers! :D
But how much is the fish? - man? The single-coily voicing is sooo great. It`s much thinner than a humbucker, but not nearly as thin and pointy as a single.
I'm torn between "The Blue One" and "The Green One" I don't have a guitar for le metal, and while I think they both will fill that need in spades, I can't decide.
Hi Henning, really enjoyed your playing! Would you prefer this blue one to a Music Man JP6? Not just for metal and high gain, but overall a versatile guitar. These Fishmans in the Ibanez have really good clean tones, the Petrucci guitar has the Dimarzio Crunch Lab/Liquifire. Would really love your opinion.
I have this guitar. I found the missing black dot in the fretboard very inconvenient. The silver dots are almost invisible. I stand up to play this guitar all the time, when playing 12 to 21 frets in high E string, I made errors because of missing dots. I have to buy some black dots to make it more playable. Other than that, as you said, sound is perfect I have checked some old models of Ibanez with this color of fretboard, they have black dots, I don't know why they put silver dots on the side this time.
Great review and enjoy the humour. Really shows off a wide variety of styles and I think it sounds pretty sweet for all of them. I watched this multiple times before trying this guitar in store. Tried this and the RG550 for my first RG experience. I liked the 550, but loved this one, so decided to pull the trigger. Love playing and even just looking at this beauty 🤘🤘
how is it that the premiums have a floyd with l;ocking tuners and the prestige do not. that's extremely weird. Anyway great job Henning and the guitar is just gorgeous. So is the huntsman spider at the end
Thought the neck HB was the bridge when you first strummed. Such mid-forward neck PU's are always a problem with a lot of gain, specially if one likes to boost with a pedal. The neck PU can sound bridge-like sometimes...or boxy like in this video.
