- Single stranded conformation polymorphism is a technique, widely used for the detection of mutations in the DNA. In this method, the samples are amplified by PCR and then heated at 94deg C. The samples are then cooled rapidly. This rapid cooling causes the ssDNA to form base pairs within itself. These structures are then analyzed by gel electrophoresis.
