    I use tapioca to thicken my pies. I normally purchase Kraft minute tapioca, which comes in a red box, located near the puddings, in my grocery store. It has has directions on back, on how to make several different kinds of pies.

    I just found your channel recently and have been binge watching. I am in my 60's now and had never even heard of apple butter and of canning for that matter until I started to watch youtube. I am from the UK and it doesn't appear to be a thing here or as big a thing here. I know I am very late to the party but I plan to try canning, hopefully very soon. I am thoroughly enjoying watching your videos, you are a very hard working beautiful mother and a true inspiration. Take care of your lovely family xx

    Last year I got a kitchen aid mixer peeler, corer, slicer attachment. It saved so much time!

    Great video - real life fully enjoyed, fully lived. No feeling better that cans lined up on the shelf 0 except perhaps when the garden is first planted and a nice rain comes to celebrate with you. That is an amazing feeling, also.

    I have that exact same apple peeler corer slicer!!! 😊 I always keep mine in the box when I'm not using it, so I don't lose any pieces. Lol!
    I admire all your hard work with the canning. God bless you and your family!

    I just found your channel recently and I am binge watching. Apples are my favourite thing for baking and processing. Those apples that you thought were too soft for pie would be really wonderful in an apple cake, or apple pancakes. I love your channel. Peace and love to you☮️💕

    I’m 67 years old, a guy who helped my wife can when our kids were young, and now I have the time so I am learning to can.
    I have 6 grown kids out of the house. I would give anything to go back and do it all over with the little kids, it was the best time of my life. Enjoy them now and don’t blink, as soon they will be out of the house with their own lives.
    Keep the kids in your videos as it shows you are real and we love real things on here, not the fake sterile videos.

    My grand mother use to make apple butter, however she used a particular type of crabapple for it, pear shaped and quite tart, which she also used to make apple juice and both were quite good

    Hello! Do you use apple cider or water in your apple butter?

  • @hg8247
    @hg8247 Год назад

    Do you find the regular mouth jars to work okay with most stuff. I feel like many people prefer wide but unsure about the extra cost of the jar and lids are worth the convenience

    • @seedandsparrowhomestead
      @seedandsparrowhomestead  Год назад

      Absolutely. It’s really a matter of convenience. It takes just a teeny tiny bit more effort to get the contents in and out.
