i find that my scalp hates any hairstyle that pulls on it at all! feels tight and painful, and my dr said i have a bit of traction alopecia at the front from years of high ponytails.

I love these hairstyles bc I'm always so lost about what to do with my hair. Any advice for styles when you have to wear a helmet on your way to work (for bike riding)? The braids down the sides feel a little young to me (I'm 42). My hair isn't as long as yours, just below the shoulders.
