Like, many people have this misconception that they're just a cute girl group, but their music has so many layers! It can be bittersweet, or creepy cute like this song too. But it's all very distinctly Lovelyz, and that's one of the reasons I'm such a fan of them! I'm really glad y'all posted this reaction because Lovelinus are very down recently due to the high possibility of Lovelyz disbanding next month. Also, R.I.P. to J.Yoon. Lovelyz!! Man, this group is something special. Their songs are always so instrumentally developed and multidimensional. This song in particular plays so much with the chromatic scale without just being dissonant for the sake of it. It's almost like it's a test for the singers to see how precise they can get with their voices while hitting every level of volume (from nearly whispering to full-on belting). Plus, this kind of approach to "dream-like" instrumentals feels so much like Dreamcatcher's "BEcause", ominous yet playful. No wonder it's up next ... Also, loved the Halloween costumes for the reactors :D
J.yoon was such a great musician and producer, from Infinite to Lovelyz and Golden Child. His music was so distinct and dramatic. You've also reacted to Spring Again by Golden Child, which is also a masterpiece made by the late J.yoon. Thank you for this reaction, we miss him so much and also Lovelyz.

I remember comparing this song to Pantomime by WJSN back when it came out due to its chromaticism, mood, and variety of sounds - but I think the point about the kick being mixed with the bass in such a way that it's not super punchy/in your face is a good demonstration of what makes this song different. While Pantomime has very razor-sharp mixing in every sound, this song has a softer, more dreamy feel, which serves its aesthetic in its own way.
I stan WJSN and Lovelyz and these two are in my loved playlist but I never made the connection haha! I guess I do like tbe ethereal moody songs. Got any more recommendations??

It’s always so wonderful to see Lovelyz get the attention they so rightfully deserve. They’re my all-time favorite group and their B-sides are some of the best and most interesting in all of k-pop. It’s too bad Woollim treats them so poorly, because Lovelyz could be so much bigger if they were promoted and managed properly. It's interesting you released this today, just a couple days after a news article was posted on alllkpop about rumors that Lovelyz is going to be disbanding next month. :( Normally, rumors shouldn't be paid much attention to, especially in the Kpop industry, but there has been trouble brewing between Woollim and the Lovelyz members for months, and their contracts are due to expire in November, so I would not be surprised if the rumors are true. 💔😥
