I think First is one of Everglow’s best title tracks. It feels epic. The background vocal harmonies in the bridge are so haunting and beautiful, it’s my favourite part of the song.
I know Pirate is on the maybe list but I hope to see it come up eventually, especially since there’s a really weird and fun instrumentation change from early 10’s electric synth to suddenly percussive drum line then pulling back for the pre chorus.

Definitely on the Vader side of the argument. Also, I knew this would be a Henry stankface kind of reaction. The song hits so hard and sounds so powerful. A bit repetitive or overwhelming at times but the ending is fantastic.

it’s refreshing to see an in-depth music analysis of this song especially as a dancer, i connect to music really intricately so hearing my thoughts of the melodic changes and the types of instruments used go into words of the people who are professionals makes it feel so well rounded. but anyways, during first era, everglow were the only girl group to chart all songs on billboard, got their second win, won the best music video of 2021, and even more. there’s so much to this comeback that’s so amazing

Honestly I love this song so much. The verses makes me bop so much, the pre-chorus gives me goosebumps and the second part of the chorus (sihyeon’s part) always makes me emotional? Like it feels like you’re going into battle and you’re outnumbered and most of your troops are wounded but you’re standing back up ready to fight.
