I have a 1984 Chevy G30 Tioga with 96K miles that sleeps 6 in my driveway. Haven't used it since my husband passed in 2012. I have had the gas tank replaced, fuel line, gas line, fuel pump, carb, plugs, ac blower fan and much more done on it. There is a roof leak that I have yet to find, but I keep it covered at all times with a Tarp, however, the leak did do some damage on the inside a bit that I intend to repair. Otherwise, everything works and other than the area that got water damage, it's in great shape. I have a 5 pound bucket of 100% silicone that I intend to roll on the roof after I clean it and secure all areas with Eternabond whenever I get to it. I would be doing it alone and living in Louisiana where rain comes often has kept me from getting started. Once I do, I intend to seal up that roof pretty tight before starting any inside repairs. In the meantime, I am just watching as many DIY videos that others post to educate myself as much as possible.

I just bought a 76 itasca for $1300 looks a lot like this inside 350 Chevy v8 4bbl headers! I repainted interior walls and lower cabinets teal. Upper cabinets and ceiling white again seems to run fine called original owner and discussed everything he could tell me about it as far as rust stain on right rear corner just rub chrome polish on it and it will come right off

Remember as a rule of thumb to only use HEAVY DUTY parts on an rv. Standard duty will get you by in a pinch but especially with engines. I was camped next to a nice couple last year 2021 and thier 1994 winnie. They were talking about when they had the engine swapoed with a STANDARD duty caddy engine. They had a constant check engine light. I told them to go back to thier friend and have that engine swapped with one from another rv or the sort. Standard will work fine but will not hold up.

engine looks like my "87" chevy RV 350 cc runs out great on the highway but no overdrive. Amazing how the front cab exterior doesn't rust. Don't let it sit brakes will stick. The crank down windows and vents are a plus one icy winter I got locked in an exterra with electric windows and locks I hate them.

It’s not 350cc that’s 350 cui or a whopping 5.7L not CC. I’ve owned a 6.6L 400 cui and two 350 cui engines. Best V8 design and easy to work on and just run. They can move and pull in giant wreckers. I know a guy who ran many many many 350s or de-stroked 400 small blocks to run in them.

LMFAO, everything fell out while driving, yeah Im just now about to get one soon. cheap buy, and plan on renovating like to prevent that from happening before hand. some latches on the drawers and stuff. See Im buying one just for shelter MAINLY, not the appliances cause I can just buy those separately. Like stoves, bucket toilet, solar generator, tvs are cheap, inverter, etc. I just have to check everything out when it arrives, it'll be my first one and Idek if I can handle it but I should lol I've only been driving since 11/6/2021 so Idk what to expect driving a bigger vessel lol we will see.

Any chance you have remove/replaced the instrument cluster? If so, I'd love to know your experiences.

I want to like basically get a dc dc converter attached. the easiest way possible if i even need it. also my heater is not working.
