  • The two most dominant parties in the Palestinian political scene, Fatah and Hamas, don’t really see eye to eye on a few things. Here are some of their disagreements.

Because Hamas attack their own people for propoganda and they blame it on Israel while Fatah are desperately trying to calm people down and reach a peaceful negotiation. These are the words of a former Hamas member and the son of the leader Mossab hassan yousuf. Hamas are making Palestinians suffer and they are the cause for the invasion of Palestine. If you want to save Palestine, condemn Hamas and support Fatah. Death to Hamas means a rise to Palestine and Israel will retreat from Gaza and west bank. Actually not true .... at many levels the people in Gaza are in better shape, for example, despite the siege over Gaza, the average drinking water share of the people in Gaza is higher than in the west bank (because Israel can't go there to steal it), the people in the west bank are systematically losing lands and house to the occupation until they became like disconnected islands where you need to pass through checkpoints if you want to visit someone in the adjacent village (if you try to sneak you risk being sniped, not that you need a reason to be sniped, a bored soldier is a good reason), settlers/soldiers attacks is a daily reality not to mention Abbas Authorities which is a problem on its own.

There's a big difference between armed resistance and terrorism. Terrorism involves targeting civilian infrastructure and civilians. Armed resistance involves only attacking soldiers and military infrastructure to achieve military objectives in accordance with established international laws.
If Palistinians want to resist occupation, I don't have a problem with that. As an American I cannot deny that the reason the United States even exists is that Americans decided to resist their British opressors. However, should Palistine choose to resist, they must be held to the same standards as any professional army.

You know what, this hamas and fatah thing reminds me of my country's independence story: Indonesia
In short, There are 2 sides about how we want to fight for it:
    1) the younger generation, whom insist that we have to get independence without Japan's agreement
    2) the older generation, which insist that we should wait Japan's clarification for our independence
The younger ones decide to "kidnap" the older ones, particularly our to be 1st president and his vice, Soekarno and Mohammad Hatta, and kinda "exchange" minds about how we should declare our independence..
After couple of days, the timing is somewhat perfect. Japan got atomic bombed, the information seeps out to us, and we decided to get our independence on our own, the agreement of younger and older ones
We can declare our independence because the 2 opposed minds collaborate each other. Oh yea, also if you want some islamic pov, our country's independence is during Ramadhan month (iirc)
Palestine should do this...and i hope, the moment shall come! Glory for Palestine!

      Not really this way but other way;
      Indonesia had two main factions:
      1. Those who wanted to live according to Islamic laws and build a nation with Islamic laws. They were traditional Indonesian people.
      2. Those who don't want Islam, but want nationalism and secularism. They were educated by Japan to copy them and the West and discard Islam from politics and public life.
They clashed. And the supporters of Islamic country lost. And the nationalist dictators won.
It's like Hamas and fatah in Palestine too. Fatah is typical Arab nationalist and secularist who don't want anything to do with Islam.
Or in Egypt: Jamal Abdulnasir the Arab nationalist, secularist, brutal and corrupt dictator. And Hasan Banna - Islamic politician and his ikhwan movement who lost the struggle by being too naive.
Hamas must never have mercy toward fatah otherwise they will be wiped out like the ikhwans in Egypt

The armistice lines are not a boarder they are simply a ceasefire line between Jordan and Israel from the '48 war the Arab Armies lost. Israel legally took this land during the 67 war when Jordan foolishly and illegally attacked Israel in '67. At best it is contested land, but as there was never a Palestinian state so it seems possession is nine tenths of the law in this case.

Fatah has a pragmatic outlook, they try to benefit the Palestinian people in an effective manner based on the realities on the ground. Giving up armed resistance in the 90s was a smart move. The liberation of Palestine is a global Islamic effort not an exclusively Palestinian one.
Hamas has an idealist outlook. They want to act like a strong independent nation that can go toe to toe with Israel and where eliminating the Jewish state is a totally achievable goal if they just sacrifice enough people. Israel tolerates Hamas control over Gaza because every rocket, every incendiary balloon Hamas launches, not only bounces harmlessly off the Iron Dome (or causes only minimally damage when they do get through), but also creates a fantastic propaganda opportunity to portray the Palestinians as aggressors. Those Palestinians in the West Bank who choose diplomacy, who stand in peaceful protest, they are who the Israelis fear. Their operations in Gaza, Israel is able to justify in the eyes of the world. What’s happening in the West Bank however, they can form no excuse, and the world sees this.
