@@GENECARP "A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step". Yeah, the companies like Lippert, who have a monopoly on some of the RV parts, will absolutely just take the hit, but Liz isn't changing the industry all it once. It's one company or dealership at a time. And the more people that see these videos, the more the companies will start to change. If Liz's channel gets the subs that Keep Your Daydream has, companies like Lippert, Grand Design, etc. would change in a minute! She has upped her subscribers quite a bit and the industry IS taking notice, regardless of whether the big dogs do anything or not...YET. If she keeps gaining subs, they absolutely will make changes because the negative press will effect their bottom line.

Thank you for doing the right thing for your customer! I bought mine brand new paid cash, had it back to the dealership in 3 days and it took 5 months & back again! The sales manager told me that I was should fix the problems myself, I asked the sales manager what part of being in a wheelchair means that I can't climb around on a ladder to fix their mistakes! So I called them out on social media and received a letter saying if I don't remove my video that I was going to be sued for slander!

Lippert is a parts manufacturer that has a monopoly on the RV frame industry. The dealership has more to lose. That's the problem with Lippert...they have no competition so they can do whatever they want.

Liz, these things can go both ways. Everybody knows that Murphy is alive and well - sh*t happens. Where do you go from here? You get a lemon, you make lemonade.

I’m buying my first trailer in the next 90 days, I really prefer to buy things new but these stories make me want something prior to COVID. Many of these things could get past an inspector’s efforts if the factory can’t even find water intrusion.
Am I better off buying a class C new? I want to use my pickup but if leaving that home and buying another vehicle is wiser then I’d do that. It shouldn’t be a chore to do something enjoyable.

It is not because campers “drive on the road” that they leak and have other issues. It is because of the complete lack of any quality assurance. Campers are not complex machines. A car is a complex machine. And airplane is a complex machine. A camper is simply some sticks and paneling bolted onto a metal frame, with some very simple plumbing and electrical work. The fact that they cannot perfect these is baffling…. It is purely quality control and checks and balances, and a desire to provide your customers with quality products.

    • @willlazenby1050
      @willlazenby1050 2 месяца назад

I think some of the issue is that these are exposed to a lot of different types of bending and twisting forces, potholes, and other types of jarring impacts that can affect the whole system and because of that they need to be overbuilt but in reality they are actually underbuilt to save money.

@kingslaphappy1533 If two RV's are sitting side-by-side, the unsophisticated consumers that are complaining about this stuff will pass over the higher quality unit for one that is bigger and more feature-rich for the same price.

Fun Town will earn much business from this vid. However pay close attention to what they said about the service backups in the industry. When one builds junk, this is the end result! The one thing customers lose that can never be replaced is their time and grief. This RVer has bought only 2 brand new units in over 40 years of RVing. Both had issues, but not show stoppers. I've found the used market far better than new. I know going in there will be some repairs required, but much lower costs and I have been extremely happy with the units I've purchased. I will NEVER purchase a new unit ever again. Not worth the risk to me.

We are now 16 months with a Thor product (2023 Sanctuary) that has now spent 11 of those months in for repairs but all 16 months of coach not functioning. In addition, after each attempt at repairs, they have damaged several things, adding to list of needed repairs. They have even (noticeably) CUT a panel in a (4th) failed attempt to correct bathroom door issue.
We received an email from Thor representative of how disheartened he was that we refused to accept this repair due to it only being cosmetic!!!!
Still in shop and they have not made contact with us for over 3 weeks now...
We've reached out to repair shop for copies of all our repair order paperwork and no response from them either for 2 weeks now.

RVIA is the association they put together....managed by the manufacturers! That pretty much explains their whole mind set. Buying power with the select range, microwave, slide, frame, water heaters, furnace manufacturers. Take look at just what Dometic owns! Lippert..... too! All bundled together in one big purchasing lump! You all get the same stuff ...hinges...piping.. switches, etc, no matter what you buy or how much you pay. Cheap building materials and sloppy to no quality control! They govern themselves so nothing will change!!

Build the facility that can replicate all the issues before they happen like any car manufacturer or for that matter boats. This would be a cheap and simple solution to a lot of the issues build the outer skin and test then complete the inside. I would not be surprised with all the sealant on the exterior part that your wash bot is tearing it to pieces sealant cant take all that abuse.

I am impressed with Joe Anderson’s response. What he is saying should be what all dealerships and manufacturers say.
I have driven past Fun Town RV in Wharton many times. One of my favorite stops in Wharton is Bucky’s, and Fun Town is a stone’s throw from that location. I have considered stopping one day to get a feel for their customer experience. After hearing Joe Anderson’s solution, I may actually visit the next time I pass through.
But remember, the real problem is that too often, RVs leave the factory with major defects that should have been caught. Also, it is hard to believe that the factory was ignorant about its poor quality control.

Water ingress is completely unacceptable in a wagon, as it will make it unusable within short time. It is surprising that the RV manufactures dont have this as first priority. Better quality control of the finished products may help but I am sure that the design of the water sealant on these wagons is fundamentally wrong and dealers subsequent attempt to repair with silicone or similar will never fix the problem. Therefore the new replacement wagon will likely have the same issues as the first one.

There needs to be a class action suit against these dealers and manufacturers are being negligent. Some of these issues could actually kill someone! When I was a child we lived for a short time in a Shasta camp trailer. Due to a problem with the furnace our trailer exploded in a fireball. It was so hot inside the trailer the glass in the picture tube of our television set literally melted and ran down into what looked like an ice cicle! Our cat was killed instantly and we lost nearly everything we owned. Thank God we were gone and not all incinerated! This was in 1976.
