Easy to follow the pattern, loved how the hat came out I had NEVER used or knitted with a weight yarn as thick or heavy as a size #6 WEIGHT by LION BRAND, HATS LOOKS PRETTY BUT I WILL BE USING ONLY A WEIGHT OF #5 or #4 Thanks so much for THIS pattern and all of YOUR other patterns. Hi Ann! I'm working on this hat now as I've done the other 3 of yours. Again thank you SO much!!! I'm smiling a big one at the moment and have to tell you why. As I was browsing through your amazing patterns (of which there are soooooo many I'm itching to try), I saw these adorable mini hats and read your notes and I get it so much how a cute and small project would be a welcome change/break! I don't have a daughter but I do have a friend who does and she really wants hats and scarves for her dolls : ). What excuse will I have now that you have shared a pattern, Yikes. Okay off to finish my Aurora Hat. Take care, be well!~~~Jo

      Long cord? I am already using 60 or 80 cm circular needles and magic loop method . You do not need to repeat my way of knitting, you just need to know the pattern stitches to finish the hat.

    this is fun and I'm halfway through, but I realize that My rib bottom part doesn't come out looking defined with straight lines, more like little bumps here and there... I did K P K P... what might I be doing wrong? I'm a beginner.

      maybe you accidentally did seed stitch?? i had a problem with this when i was first starting to knit too where when someone would say "knit the knits and purl the purls" i would purl each stitch that i purled in the last rwo but in reality what you do is you knit the stitch that looks like a knit and you purl the stitch that looks like a purl

    • @ld7990

      @@ii_mxxnchild_ii3362 Yes, maybe I did! I mean in the end it looks nice, just not like rib ;) good news is now that i've knitted more it's not happened again!

    @hastflicka Месяц назад

    When you knit the rows of knit stitches, do you alternate and pick up every other stitch in the front and every other in the back? It looks like you're doing that, but your pattern doesn't indicate that.

    • @CrazyHandsKnitting
      @CrazyHandsKnitting  Месяц назад

      I was grabbing yarn differently that's is why I worked through the back and front loops. You need to knit and purl as you usually do, result will be the same ❤️

    • @CrazyHandsKnitting
      @CrazyHandsKnitting  3 года назад

      The number of stitches has to be divisible by 4. 40 sts child size will be perfect. Otherwise you can add or reduce 2 sts after the ribbing

    • @CrazyHandsKnitting
      @CrazyHandsKnitting  4 года назад +1

      Dk is too light. Knit in 2 or 3 strands at once. Otherwise you need to check your gauge to know how many sts to cast on. The final number of stitches has to be divisible by 4.

    • @tansumin7430
      @tansumin7430 4 года назад

      @@CrazyHandsKnitting thank you, i don't know how to check gauge 😄

    • @CrazyHandsKnitting
      @CrazyHandsKnitting  4 года назад +2

      @@tansumin7430 Knit a small swatch to understand how many stitches in 1 cm. Then you can multiply this number by head circumference and get the number of sts you need to cast on. I usually deduct 15% from the total amount for the hat to have an ideal fit.
