Stranded in California, but not complaining

  • We found ourselves out in California for a work assignment living out of a van as our home base. When it was time to head home, we needed to figure out how we were planning to do that.
After a rough experience heading out west by train, and flying not being an option, we were sort of stranded out in California. Rental cars were hard to come by, so our first choice was a uhaul van. When that didnt work out, we finally got a Subaru out of an airport rental spot.
The journey back east took us through Southern Utah, where most of this video takes place. We pass through Zion national park in the springtime, and got to experience how wonderful it truly was first hand.
The next stop in our location was one that we didn't even intend on going to, but it was a short detour and we're really happy we did: Bryce Canyon.
The first camping spot with our Subaru was actually a few hours north of Bryce along a river. We had this area of the BLM lands all to ourselves, and no cars nearby at all. It was completely desolate and beautiful.

"We're too poor to live in a U-Haul" had me actually laugh out loud!
