  • We often put a label that once we achieve the thing that we set out to get, that we'd be happy. But ultimately those of us that get to achieve our dreams recognize that we are no more happy than we were at the start.
I was in a position where I got to get my dream job (making videos) for a dream company (Camper van builder). This combined my love of making videos with the subject matter that allowed me to get outdoors. I thought I made it.
Ultimately, it wasn't what I expected it to be. We weren't compatible for each other and for that reason, I'm to blame. This made me dig deep into what it is that im exactly looking for... and the lessons I took away from it might be something I can pass on to others.

Dude!!! I am so sorry you had to deal with this.... incredibly unethical people, terrible business practices, completely unprofessional on their part. You'll find so much better and way better people to work with.

What an awful business to have to work with, I’m sorry you had to go through that. They changed a time of your life and an opportunity that would be brilliant and made it so that it was stressful and you didn’t enjoy it as much as you could have done. It’s bad on your gf too, as this was an opportunity for her to do something she might never have done otherwise.
I hope you manage to have better times than this going forward.
Great video man. Earned my sub

Thanks man. I’m trying to get really good with audible storytelling through my videos, and introduce some more of my own experiences into them

In most markets there are companies that buy such debts from you and they will be the ones going after the clients. Maybe it's an option

Stumbled across your content from a comment you made on a Spencer's Adventures video and I've been slowly catching up on all of your content. Sorry to hear you had this experience. You seem like a very genuine guy from what I've seen and it always sucks to see good people get taken advantage. I'm not in the creator space, so I don't know how these contracts are usually drawn up, but as someone who has hired contractors for construction on single family houses, they always have a contract that gets them paid at the end of every week--not at the end of the project. This might be something to consider when planning your next contract with a client. Delivering content to the client weekly and getting paid weekly instead of all at once greatly reduces the risk of investing a year of work only to not get paid at the end of it.
