They need to make a Hitman movie that's just about 47. A psychological thriller about a man who is an effing clone that killed all of the other clones and his maker. A man that grew up in a fucked up environment. Seriously, ya'll should read his back story, it's pretty tragic and could make for an excellent movie.

Matt Mcandrew This was pretty much the reaction of everyone who saw the trailer. Way too much Hollywood-Action.
Hell, you could do it from the POV of one of his targets. Build up a real sense of dread for the audience.

    • @Hosenbisla
      @Hosenbisla 9 лет назад +5

Matt Mcandrew It also should be more like a heist movie, where the planning of a perfect hit is most part of the filme and it should have no guns balzin action

Matt Mcandrew We're never going to get that. The most they'll do is use the Hitman name and turn it into an action movie. He won't be stealthy because studios think it's only entertaining if he's going in guns blazing. I feel like Hitman could work as a Netflix show with each episode being another hit. That's the only way I could see him done correctly, because big studios will just use the popularity of the game to get money on a normal action movie.

    • @ginganinja714
      @ginganinja714 9 лет назад +2

Zero Regen Golgo 13 is something like that. It's an anime about the "world's greatest assassin" trope. I think there were 2 series', one made in the 80's and one in 2009. There's a feature length animated movie as well.
Golgo is like 47 in that he's a consummate professional who almost never loses his cool, and his skill is almost too perfect. The only thing that differs is that he has sex with random women every so often.
It's the closest thing to a Hitman show I've seen.

I read an interview with Rupert Friend, the actor playing 47 and he seemed like a cool guy who really understood his character and knew exactly how to play him. The stuff he said about 47 was just mindblowing in its understanding. So just off of that I knew he'd be perfectly cast and do a great job. Doesn't mean the movie is going to be as good as him unfortunately...

Even with all the crappy video game movies throughout the past 20 years, i still can't help but have hope for the upcoming ones:
Assassin's Creed (it has Michael freakin' Fassbander and a great cast so far and a director who has made good-quality films so far)
The Last of Us (Sam Raimi and Neil Druckmann are in charge, so yeah)
Warcraft (Never played the game but it has a cool premise)

Mr.Panda663 Well I have to disagree a bit about the interactive part. Game fans don't want to see movie because it's playable, they just want to seen a "good movie" that pays respect to the game. Not a "videogame movie" Which is why they hated the FPS sequence in Doom because it was out of contrast to the rest of the film. Most live action adaptations (probably with the exception of Prince of Persia) where horribly acted, horrendously written, illogical, and dumb as bad movies go compared to their source material.

It's not that video game movies won't work. But, Hollywood never treats it right. Video game movies could work, if Hollywood actually gave a shit about these movies. If they have a budget. Had a good cast. Got a good writer. Hired a good director, and treated the source material well. The only reason why I say that last thing, is because of what they did with Mario and dragon ball.

I was hoping this would be a decent action flick even it wasn't a good Hitman movie.
I feel like a real Hitman movie would be slow, quiet with action scenes being quick and violent when they happen. I can picture tense scenes where 47 knocks a guy out and disguises himself, moving about the area in an almost choreographed dance through the scene where 47 is hiding and disguising and setting up kills professionally.

    • @Hosenbisla
      @Hosenbisla 9 лет назад +6

9_Bucks no, a good hitmanmovie would have absolutely 0 real "action scenes". It would be more like a clever heist movie where it is all about the planning and problems of a hit that looks like 47 never was there in the first place.

When Hitman: Agent 47 came to theaters, I thought about going to see it on silver screen but decided against it. I chose to wait until the rental blu-ray came out, and boy was I glad that did that.
I honestly would have walked out of the theater in the first 5 minutes into the film, because in that time they showed that they chose to screw up the background story even worse than previous film.
While the first film was twisted version of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, the second film was a clear rip-off of the Hitman: Absolution. I mean: Katia = Victoria, Le Clerq = Benjamin Travis etc.
Also, Diana turning against 47?! What the heck!

True except it didn't have the group of Sexy killer Nun's that were sent to assassinate Agent 47, there was no Beefy buff body guard like he's Hitman's version of Bane from Batman, there's no Sheriff who teamed up with some cowboy simp, and finally most of the stuff from the game were done better than the film.

That said, it could work. It has an 80's grindhouse/VHS style to it already. Just make it a mix between John Wick's nightclub scene and Memento.

Paul Walker was previously attached to play the lead role in this film before his sudden death in late November 2013.
There is a direct reference to the video game franchise made in one brief scene where a yellow rubber duck is seen floating in a bathtub along with a partially submerged toaster.
The pose Agent 47 makes while exiting an elevator early in the film by facing forward and crossing his arm over his chest while holding his pistol is reminiscent of signature promotional images used throughout the Hitman video game franchise but the "blood on the sleeve" is from a cover of Hitman: Absolution.
Seen in the trailer is Agent 47 wearing the uniform of a dispatched police officer as a disguise to aid his escape, a staple of the Hitman games.
In the month's prior to the movie's release, 20th Century Fox and IGN Entertainment launched a social media campaign in order to find Hitman Agents 1 through 46. Contest entries, which were mostly comprised Agent 47 cosplay photos, were judged by a panel and winners were officially given numeric designations in the Hitman canon.
The idea of a young girl who has assassin-like abilities (like super reflexes and freeing herself from her ties) and who is also wanted by an evil corporation is taken directly from the plot of Hitman: Absolution (2012).
At 20:30, Hitman picks up Katia's prescription bottle. We see she's taking Dilantin which is an anticonvulsant that can treat and prevent seizures.
Wilhelm Scream: at 45:25, as a Syndicate soldier is thrown into machinery.
Rupert Friend accidentally hurt himself while firing a blank bullet for one scene. The hot shell bounced off the floor and hit him in the head, burning him slightly.
The car that Agent 47 drives in the film is a 2013 Audi RS7 Sportback.
During a series of quick cuts, a man can be seen holding a Sony PlayStation video game controller. Most of the early Hitman games were available on the PlayStation 2 system.
The access code that Dr. Delriego (Rolf Kanies) gives to Agent 47 in the beginning of the movie is the actor's real birthday in numerics. 21-12-57 is December 21, 1957
The tactical unit members wore Dye I3 paintball masks to cover their faces.
    Reboot of the 2007 film.
    Aleksander Bach's directorial debut.
Based on Hitman, a popular video game series by Danish company IO Interactive.
The masked attackers use Beretta CX 4 Storms.
Based on the posters and the trailers, shooting took place in Singapore.
The bar-code on the back of Agent 47's head - 640509040147 - is the actual UPC and EAN number of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (2002), , the franchise's second game. Fittingly, this is the franchise's second movie.
In the trailer, Katia is seen hanging in front of a running jet engine, being told by 47 to untie herself. This specific scene never actually occurred in the movie. This scene does occur, except Katia is tied to a chair.
Zachary Quinto's surname "Quinto" in Italian means "fifth" in English.
The mid-credits scene where Quinto's character wakes up with white hair and a pale complexion is a direct reference to the video game Hitman: Blood Money as the Syndicate assassins in the game are all albinos with white hair and pale complexion.

No because 1, Angry Birds doesn't have the lore or anything to be extended to movie length. A series of shorts or a season on a cartoon? Maybe.
5 nights? The way id see that being successful is if they try something new and the whole time we dont see our protaganist. And the movie is shot in first person. Make that shit an interactive film experience. Yet somehow I see it being another generic horror film with a fuck ton of jump scares. The thing saving 5 nights (potentially...) is its deep lore.
Its not my 'hatred' of the games, its my realization of how shittily these film companies still handle some of these movies. The only ones I have optimism for is both the ratchet and sly movies. If they get those right (which I have a feeling they probably can, having thier writers from the game joining in the production of the movie) then my optimism will be restored.

Oh come on! I've been saying that of all video game franchises that could make a decent movie, Hitman was arguably the best. It could basically be the story of an emotionally damaged super-solider-esque Hitman struggling with his morality. Or go full James Bond, just cutting out all the cheesy suaveness and replace it with typical Hitman emotionless reactions to bizarre things. So many options, and it still sucked.

  • @AQDuck

It can't possibly be this hard to make a decent Hitman movie, honestly...
Just look how the latest Hitman (game) does it's story; you're briefed with a mission by Diana. This single mission could be a movie. Hell, most people probably spend well over an hour on the first playthrough to scout through the map and look for opportunities. This could make some awesome "what-if" scenes of 47 killing the target with said opportunity, then we'll see what could go wrong (hence why he won't do that).
The Paris mission alone could be a single movie.

I'm kind of in the mindset right now of asking, what's the point of video game movies now? Just considering the fact how cinematic a lot of cut scenes and even in-game moments tend to be, and then the added enjoyment of having control over those moments. I guess that's also part of the reason I don't mind them taking liberties as long as they make sense within the story they're building; I don't wanna see the exact same thing I've already experienced.

Gabe N CZ57 Avenger Well, of course it must have CGI, but they pushed the movie back over a year exactly to work on it... it's not normal if it looks like the intro to a game. It's not a good news if not even the trailer is done by now... but maybe it was just for Comic Con, we need to see the actual released trailer. If the orcs look fake they shouldn't have started making the movie.
How do you know the story is excellent?? Is there a script leaked online??

    • @CZ57-Avenger_
      @CZ57-Avenger_ 9 лет назад

Vlad Bayard I know the lore of the game... its based on WC1 and the opening of the dark portal. Even if the take some poetical lincense and change some stuff, the base material is still excelent with almost no room for mistakes. Its not like other movies where they just use the base game as inspiration and make a completely independent movie... thats the real story of the game which is great.
And the film was delayed almost 8 years now so that they could deliver something they feel good about... the right director, the right script... That's the big difference here... they don't need to do it, they want to do it right for the players of the game. They always take their time and won't release anything they don't feel confident about it...

this movie cemented my hatred for "Stylized Action Scenes." im done, they look stupid, they just do. you can put all the time, effort, and money but the fact remains that an action scene that is more grounded in reality is just better, you feel like the stakes are high, you feel for the hero, you feel like its really happening. stylized action scenes remind me of the old argument that too much CGI makes it look fake and thats what these stylized action scenes do for me. let me know if you agree, id love to hear if im alone in this or if more people feel the same way.

I really enjoyed this critique and agree with parts of it; however one thing I would like to mention is that this movie is an adaptation of the game. Producers and directors did not have complete control seeing as the main hype of Hit man is mostly geared towards the game. Only if someone is to make a movie of a book or true story, should the movie be a close representation. other than that, movie remakes and movies made after comics/games are adaptations. With that being said I did agree with you on the script, acting and structure of the movie.

The action scenes was directed by one of directors of John Wick, as he was the Second Unit director, and they usually handle the action scenes in Hollywood.
I know there is a few like Guillermo Del Torro and Christopher Nolan that likes to shoot their own action scenes (and I assume and looking at the extras the directors of John Wick did it themselves), but mostly the directors only works with the cast, and the let the second unit shoot the stunt guys and all the other stuff that actors aren't present for.
This explains some of the John Wick looking action scenes.

I saw the other Hitman movie before I saw this, so maybe that's clouding my judgment. :)
I actually thought it was okay. Not great, by any means, but but I liked a few things.
    1) They actually tried to incorporate a little bit of sneaking around. The other Hitman movie had basically no stealth.
    2) The movie starts off with Agent 47 being the villain. I thought that was a great touch, because to any outside observer, a guy who goes around assassinating people *would* be the villain. Unfortunately, they abandon that pretty quickly.
    3) They incorporated Diana into the movie. At least by voice.
The thing that was really lacking, though was the variety in the kills. You wouldn't get a high score at all, if that's the way you played Hitman.

I saw the trailer and it was already a joke , people don't know that once a Hitman is in custody or even suspected he is no longer a Hitman anymore even if there is no evidence , because his face was brought to the public and to law enforcement and they are supposed to be ghosts not a super ninja warrior or some shit

Your right about not remembering movies and some movies just stay with you. Especially about the new Terminator movie I really can't remember anything or at least any worth remembering. Personally I think your rating system makes a lot of sense

Still gonna watch it. I need to know if this is better or worst than Timothy Olyphant's Hitman and I like that movie.

Why would they make a generic action movie based off a game praised for its stealth and creativity?

You know you've made it when your name becomes a reference for badassery. Here's looking at you John Wick.

It's funny, I just got this month's GameInformer and it had an interview from the director and actor, Rupert Friend. Friend's interview made me believe that this was gonna be a success.

The weird thing about what Jeremy said about Agent 47 shooting like John Wick is that the supervisors of the action scenes were the directors of John Wick

47 shouldn't have life. He's an emotionless killer and that's the cool thing about his story because he's just this really good hitman that gets wrapped up in cool events. He doesn't just shoot at his target and then chase them, he tracks his target before taking the target out silently. He doesn't crash a helicopter into a building to kill a target.

1 and half months until the Warcraft trailer FINALLY debuts at Blizzcon.
Anyway, if you've all seen the leaks from Comicon and 40 sec teaser, you should know that the movie is being taken in the right direction.
Also, those saying that there's no story to Warcraft 1 (while it's true that the original game was more in the line of LotR, good humans vs evil orcs), read the books "Rise of the Horde" and "The Last Guardian", because that's where most of the source material came from for the movie.

skipping this movie- i didn't even seen the first Hitman- it just doesn't work to make a movie based on a game like this. One of my favorite movies about a Hitman is Revolver directed by Guy Ritchie, which has one of the most bad-ass Hitman characters who kills mercilessly but has a heart when little girl is threatened he flips the switch and turns against his boss- killing all the men in the apartment- one with a head shot through he back of a fleeing car. i forget the actors name
