    Muy buen explicado. Así da gusto ver los videos. Y buena tomas, cuidando el enfoque de la cámara y enseñando todo al detalle. Se agradece este tipo de videos. Por cierto tengo una pregunta, el fallo era el orden de las arandelas. Pero, como tendría que estar la arandela que tiene la forma de estrella, mirando hacia abajo? No se si me explico 😅😅

    2016 rs monarch plus debonair rc3. The small oring under the seal head that holds the large washer at the top separated. Im trying to figure out how i can change this without messing with ifp.

    • @AXRV88
      @AXRV88  6 лет назад +2

      I think you can not do it without messing with IFP, because IFP can hold air when you will fill you shock with oil. The best way is to measure IFP depth and disassemble all shock without any problems with IFP or anything else.

  • @Byrnzy
    @Byrnzy 4 года назад

    Do you NEED to drain the oil and air from the lower part of the shock (stanchion) because I want to do this but don't have extra oil or the IFP adapted tool thanks

    • @AXRV88
      @AXRV88  4 года назад +1

      Of course you need drain air from shock before you start disassemble! It's dangerous for your health. There is no possibility to drain oil without shock disassembly i think. Btw you need new oil for the shock, beause you can't use oil oil (it's dirty). And for unscrew mail chamber you need special clamp like mine in this video ( it's clamp for disassemble dirtbikes forks). I hope this information will help you!

    Great video very easy to watch. I followed everything. Except I cannot push the piston through the can with the dust seal on. I try many things but's it's very tight! Now I ride with no dust seal. Do you have any advice? Thanks.

    • @AXRV88
      @AXRV88  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you, Lincoln! Air can installs by firmly push it on damper assembly (shock shaft). It assembles very hard, because high air pressure between air can and damper assembly. Put your shock into vise and by both hands push air can on shock. When I assembly this shock, battery of my camera was dead and this scene was not recorded, sorry! Do NOT ride your bike with shock which has not seals! It's dangerous.

    Hi AXRV88 really nice and informative video. I have another problem: My 3 months occasionally used monarch R rebound adjusting knob was turning almost without clicks, however I could adjust rebound with that. I took it out (probably I shouldnt do that) by unscrewing small screws on top, I clean it and its OK, but now I can not insert it back all the way. Do I need to disassemble top part (detach the shaft from top?) of the shock to insert it back in place? Thanks

    • @AXRV88
      @AXRV88  6 лет назад +4

      Hello, Ziurovas! Thank you! I think the rebound needle which is inside of piston rod, pushed inside rebound knob hole by oil pressure. Because of it I think you need to disassemble shock, remove piston rod and press rebound needle inside piston rod through rebound knob hole. If this will not help, you need remove rear cap ( with hole for rebound knob ) and assemble it separetly and assemble shock finaly. This type of problem appears on all rear shock with the same system of settings, when you pull out rebound knob. I hope this information will help you with. And of coarse feel free to contact me and check other my tutorials, for better understanding rear shocks and front forks. Cheers!

      AXRV88, Thank you so much for a great reply!I successfully removed the air can , but I have no idea how to remove the top cap from the rod (shaft), in your video that part is shown in 8:00. (Or I don't need to remove it at all?) maybe I just need to release the pressure from the damper body by removing lower valve? that way the needle will be loose and I will be able to inser knob back? I much appreciate your help.

    • @AXRV88
      @AXRV88  6 лет назад +3

      ziurovas, I'm glad to help you! Yes, I think it's the best and most easiest way to solve this problem. I hope you can push needle through it hole from top cap side by something small and L-shaped. Don't forget grease ball and spring inside rebound knob body. But for remove top cap from the shaft you need a special tool with diameter of rod.

    • @ziurovas
      @ziurovas 6 лет назад +2

      AXRV88 thank you! I finally went to a LBS to my friend working there, we released air from the damper, released damper cap as shown on your video on 4:25 and that way we were able to push the needle from inside and it stayed low and we could put knob back in place.

    Hi, great video glad you find the problem and fixed it! I'm having the same problem I'm thinking to open it and service any idea what sort of service kit I need my shock looks just like your one but in white colour, I think is a 2017/18 edition but not sure I got it used from eBay. Hello, Ricardo! Thank you! If your shock has not oil leaks and air pressure was not drop by the time, I think you need not service kit. But if you want to change some o-rings, better buy maximum set. Sorry, but I don't know where you can buy service kit. May be on chainreactioncycles or ebay.

    Are there volume spacers for these? I'm having a hard time finding anything about it.

    • @AXRV88
      @AXRV88  6 лет назад

      I don't know, may be you can find these spacers on EBAY or other resources, but I never saw them. BTW I had never use Rockshox shocks by myself and customers never said about spacers. But I think spacers is impossible to install without decreacing work travel of shock, because of inside rear shock is no free space.

    • @joaofranca9334
      @joaofranca9334 6 лет назад +1

      It depends on your shock, i think that the adition of the air volume spacers are only available on High volume or debonair air can's in rockshox shocks.
      hope i helped you
      and sorry for my bad english☺.

      Stack is a pack of spring washers on main piston. If it is built wrong, the system will work wrong. It's hard to tell it in words. In this shock problem was in the main piston, not in the lockout system.

    Привет. У меня отскок застрял на медленном. Решил я разобрать крутилку отскока и понял что у меня внутренняя штанга которую давит крутилка застряла в нижнем положении а если перевернуть ее и немного постучать она перейдёт в быстрый отскок не могу понять как так

    • @AXRV88
      @AXRV88  3 года назад

      Привет. Скорее всего штанга деформировалась (забилась грязью) и поэтому клинит в своём канале. По сути самая важная часть этой "штанги" это конус, который и регулирует скорость работы отскока, а так же его длинна. Если хочется попытаться оживить регулировку амортизатора, нужно выяснить с какой стороны изгиб и устранить его, путём выправления или стачивания наждаком. Хотя так же может влиять и грязь внутри канала. Нужно всё изучить и принимать решение самостоятельно. Удачи!
