I love night fishing especially during the hot summer months here in Indiana. I agree with both the black spinnerbait and a worm. I also have caught hundreds if not thousands of bass on a 5/8 oz Jitterbug and if they're not in the mood for sound at night I'll throw a Vintage Heddon meadow mouse. The Black Spinnerbait, Rubber worm, Jitterbug, Meadow Mouse those 4 are my go to's for night fishing
Where at in Indiana? I’m in Fort Wayne let’s fish

Indiana boy here gonna go try fishing tonight at a local lake that gets hit hard during day holds big bass but rumor has it they only eat at night .
Love night fishing and agree with every technique Randy mentioned. An added bonus is most boat traffic goes away when the sun goes down.
I like to fish the local ponds at night. It's cooler and not nearly as crowded. Chatterbait and spinnerbait have worked wonders. Might have to give that Texas rig a try one of these nights.
thanks for the advice
Hi Randy, I started fishing at night. The 2 reasons are night fishing is better and 2nd it’s hard to get caught fishing at night. Thanks Randy !
Caught? What are you doing out there?? Lol
@@JamesP29probably no license lol I don’t have one either I just wing it
Randy, always appreciate your work - you’ve helped me so much - God bless you!
Thanks again sir, as always your knowledge is greatly appreciated.
My cup of tea here , just now seen this video and been a sub for a year or more haha I love the night time fishing , on Tennessee river around Florence them smallmouth really get to feeding up.
That night time spinner bite is awesome
Well, I asked about this subject and here's the video. Thanks Randy, even if I didn't inspire this.
My wife and i night fish often enough that I built a light bracket that attaches to the front fishing seat and plugs into my 36 volt receptacle for the trolling motor. Works great for when we are having to cover a lot of water to get back to the ramp.
Randy said it best, night fishing for bass, EVERYTHING is clear water. If the lake or pond you fish is murkey, then fishing at night is out!
I’ve been going at night of a point that’s near me , from shore . It’s high pressure fishing area too from the bank but at night not to many people out fishing, so I’ve been getting a few nice ones every night . It’s a rocky bottom with some old concrete Brocken blocks right off the point . Those bass come right up on shore looking for food .
Them skeeters though!
Do a video on belly boats Randy. Great fishin in strip pits from a belly boat.
You just made a video about them biting good mid day. So which is the primary feeding time?
When you fish the night, do you fish more right after sundown or or later in the night before sun up?
I've never done a lot of night fishing & wanted to start last year but never ended up doing it. So this summer I'm definitely gonna make it happen! Are they feeding on bottom mostly? What about lakes with a lot of grass, just use moving baits
I've been bass fishing at night for over 35 years and use 4 lures.
Black Colorado spinnerbait
Black jig with a trailer
Black Jitterbug clicker 5/8 oz.
Plastic worms, senkos, trick worms and Mann's jelly worms.
If these don't produce, NOTHING will.
I’m a chatterbait guy. The old staples work for sure, but I have my most success fishing grass at night with the chatterbait. I rotate between the jackhammer, the mini max, and the big blade. I actually just got off the water(it’s 2:35 am), and caught probably 20 bass tonight. Biggest was a 6.44 on a jackhammer. Also caught two 4 pounders on the big blade. I slow roll at night with random reel snaps, I always catch fish.
@@doublec1758 good info I appreciate it! The mini max & big blades are good ideas. Having a different vibration. I have been doing decent with the willow vibe it's small . I'm sure you seen those also. Did a lot more night fishing this summer. I'm really hooked on big swimbaits past few years. Between mid June & late August I've been killing it on big 9" glide baits. Caught all these & broken my PB 2 times in that time frame. Caught multiple 4+ pounders couple just above 5, a 5.8 - 5.99 - 6.1 - 7.4 - 8.05. - 8.6 - 9.3! That 9.3 was 26" long 16.75 in girth. She was pulling the kayak pretty hard !!
Do you think scent is any more important at night ? I havnt been using any scents I really don’t know what is worth using. And prefer something I could just pull out my fishing vest when I need it .
Hello,
New subscriber, and really new to night fishing.
It's the middle of July in Florida, what lures especially by name, from the store in the link, can you suggest.
Thanks in advance.
Plus no boat pressure
I’ve tried night fishing with little luck. My problem is I CAN’T SEE!
Head lamp
Night vision goggles
@@Unbrowny I swear I’ve thought about it.
I’ve tried breathing underwater with little luck.. my problem is I CANT BREATHE!
Maybe a headlamp would work.
@@MrHabitat009 do you think shining light on the water scares fish?
I would fish a lot of nights if it weren't for the gators. They love the night.😅
You are a wealth of knowledge and a dying breed of fishermen
Talk about mosquitoes while fishing at night. I hate mosquitoe repellent.
Thermacell.
@@onlyfishthanks for the suggestion. I will try thermacell for fishing at night
try later in the night like 1AM
I like to fish at night, at least that’s what I tell my wife 🙄
Rather you keep that night stuff to yourself bud
