Great video! Doing this for our daughter's HR-V so she can see at night again. I miss the days when headlights just came off with 4 simple screws on the front. And I miss GLASS!
Right?! Getting the front bumper off was the hardest part, and once we broke all the plastic the headlights came right out 😅😂 Thank you for watching and subscribing we do appreciate it 😃
Ironic that the video is 2 months old, almost fresh and exactly when I needed.. I need to change my head lights due to cracks. I have installed those headlight tints years ago and it aged that it almost stuck like paint on headlights. It was removed successfully but after several months cracks occured. I have the same Ruse black color but mine's registered at 2015. Exactly the same as your HRV, but I noticed the newer ones dont have signal lights on the fender. Do you happen to know if the 2016-2022 headlight as stated on your title is same as the 2015? I see sellers advertising their headlights as 2015 and up.
Hey thanks for watching and thank you for the catch here! This is for 2015 as well, but our friend's HRV is a 2016 so that's where we goofed 😅 The crazy thing is he actually used a restoration kit on the old headlights TWICE before finally throwing in the proverbial towel and having us swapping out the headlight assemblies. Let us know how your swap goes! We had good luck with the brand that we listed from Amazon in the video description too if you're thinking about buying a set 👍👍
@@freshvintage Thank you for confirming it. Your video tackles the best HRV headlight disassembly . I'm used to seeing 2016-2022 listings. It's all cool. It's almost like sellers are disregarding the 2014 and 2015 models for some reason I dont know of. Could be the blockbuster hit from HRV started in 2016. I'll be replacing the headlights but I'm keeping the old one since it's original and the the lens can still be replaced. I will also be replacing the condenser and radiator motor. Do you happen to know if I should replace the fan blade too? The blades still spins fine but I was told. I should replace them altogether
I appreciate this tutorial vid! However, at 5:26 that was the wrong Phillips screw on my 2019 HRV. The one on the left needed to be removed. Instead, I ended up snapping that plastic piece it holds in. Might be better to remove them both. Oh well, got the job done!
