And the lord said Queen.
as someone currently drunk and crying to this, i feel seen and appreciated

I can't believe world-renowned MUA Orville Peck did the heart-stoppingly beautiful whistling on this track! Crazy!
Idk where he finds the time to whistle while he's being a show stopping moo-wa!
cannot stop laughing at this

Trixie Mattel singing a Lana Del Rey song is the homosexual equivalent of Avengers Endgame, and I am here for it.
Yaaaaas, Trixie snappedt
I haven’t heard the original and now I don’t want to. This is the only version in my heart. So beautiful. ❤️
Especially with a harp!!
Y E S 😭

someone really said “come on country marie antoinette lets get depressed “ IM DEAD
LMAO
The fact that this Swedish woman can sing in such perfect English is just so stunning to me.
Beautiful song, beautiful Swedish woman!
She learned from the Klarna.😊
Just a natural woman being vulnerable, no make up, just her and the music.
definitely no makeup
just a little chapstick
Maybe some mascara too? Idk I can’t tell
Cael Crosby really? She doesn’t show it!
Jus a sensible chapstick 👁👄👁💅
she did it for the girls and the gays
THATS IT
And the then they’s!!
And gay girls?
blackblackerthanblack_1 the gays are everyone else smh
as a gay girl i feel extremely seen
the "HOOOONEY" and "SOMEBOOOODY" just give me a different kind of chills every time

Omg YES 😍

I love that for as zany as Trixie is, whether as Brian or Trixie, the seriousness of the music career is legit. I love all the songs I have heard and this cover is really lovely.
Work comes first.
I love this cover so much . Her voice with the country influences and whistling and dramatic buildups are sooo good
and Orville Peck is the Whistler ❤
@@whiteoleander86Wait, really? That's awesome!
@@UwasaWaya I know! There’s a video of Orville and Trixie doing her makeup and they mention it.
2020 is a dumpster fire, but I love that I live in a world where a drag queen can sing a country version of a Lana Del Rey song and absolutely crush it
CRUSH. IT.

I hope Tracy is aware that all the sad lesbians will listen to this song obsessively
Yep 😞🤘
I guess Im a sad lesbian now

Add my name as well
They’re onto me!!!
This is actually epic. I can hear this song as the theme for a western... not Tryna be dramatic but I actually can. You know when period films marry historic setting with modern music. Well this is like that. Love this song.
It's the song that plays over a bittersweet love scene between two doomed lovers in an anachronistic western directed by Baz Luhrmann.
Seriously though, I love how Trixie turned it into a rich, epic Ennio Morricone fantasy with the orchestral arrangement, forlorn whistles, and trumpet melody. Honestly, one of my favorite covers ever.
@@stephanietetenhardesty984 girl, I need that movie, brb I'm writing a letter.
If Firefly was still a "thing", this would be a perfect mood piece for an episode of it.
Omg YESSSSS
I'm seeing slow motion white horses and shots of longing eyes across the room and white sheets
Knowing Orville's whistling makes this chefs kiss 💋
lana’s version: on my crying playlist
trixie’s version: on my “sad lesbian cowboy” playlist
Tell me about this playlist.
please post the name of said playlist, i need it in my life
where is the playlist, we want the playlist
If ruby rider from Steven universe is not on that second Playlist I will be disappointed
I didn’t know I needed a sad lesbian cowboy playlist, but I do.
the only thing it’s missing is trixie saying “come on, whores” right before she goes into the chorus like she would always do at full coverage friday 😂
I was waiting for the tongue out and an unnh at the end 🤣 .
FCF literally made me maintain sanity during the Pandemic.
Fun Fact: Orville Peck is performing the whistling in this track!
Am i the only one who likes this version more?
nope, you are not the only one my friend!
Yup
Lana is actually just Tracey Martel playing Trixie in drag playing Brian

Why is this so beautiful and perfectly executed? I actually love this 100x more than the original. Trixie hit the feels
Same. This version literally gives me chills.
Glad I'm not the only one to feel this way about this MASTERPIECE! ^^
I only recently discovered Trixie & Katya and have been binge watching everything on RUclips to Netflix. I absolutely adore Trixie and her music, how hard they both have worked.. and continue to do so. Success couldn't have happened to more deserving people. Back when I was Brian's age it was a horrible thing to be gay, I am so happy things have changed enough so both him and Katya can give us the best part of themselves. Way to go ladies... "What do we have he'ya? A couple of show girls!" ❤

Wait, is it a running gag that Trixie didn't know the words to this song? I just discovered her recently.

I love Lana but this just hits different
Yeah, the lyrics are more impactful and cool for me coming from Trixie than Lana.
I’m like ‘Yes Trixie! undress that sundress for your man!”
And I also in general prefer this arrangement
No truer words
My first comment (that I deleted after several edits... while trying to find the best descriptive adjectives to describe this song) made me feel like an idiot, because it is so different. I didn’t recognize it. I like Lana Del Ray a lot too, but I am a casual fan of her’s. I think this song is haunting, emotive, and incredibly beautiful. I could go on forever with adjectives to praise this piece, but I already feel like an igit. Trixie is a masterful artist.
I absolutely didn't even recognize this as that song. This song is in a way haunting. I get u not being able to articulate bc I'm exactly the same sis. It's haunting, but in a way safe. I know it is all contradictory. Like it's a live song but at the same time it's sad.
@@WickID74 I truly and wholeheartedly didn't recognize this song until I listened to it a few times over, Trixie really made it in her vision, which I adore. I love Lana's original video and song, but this cover is probably my favorite of all time. Trixie is amazing at conveying the emotion wrapped up in this song.
Seriously...how was this genius arrangement and performance not nominated for a Grammy?
This is a spiritual experience.
Wow can't believe Trixie just singlehandedly redefined this song
Kirby Marie my thoughts exactly.
The vibe of this cover is a train robbing couple in the Wild West where one goes rogue and rides off in the sunset with the money.

Sometimes I sit and think about 19 year old Brian Firkus, sitting in his dorm room, dreaming of this. If everything else I ever see in my lifetime breaks my heart, it’s the little stories like this, where a truly deserving person gets to see their dreams come true, that will sustain me.
I was in theater school in 2006 and I’m glad you made it, Trixie. You’re the best of all of us.

This is such a sweet thing to say to someone. Honestly. Wherever it is you are going, whatever life has in store for you , please never let the world take your good, loving heart from you.

@trixiemattel YES!!!
The fact that Trixie Mattel and Dolly Parton have not done a song together is shocking
I love this all the time
The depth this song has with this cover is bone chilling, the arrangement shakes me.
I'm with you. I'm still emotional over it. That it's not just a good performance, but that Trixie is literally singing out an experience every gay person suffers through, and that Trixie is doing this in drag _and_ as a sweet southern girl. It's like: And now, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome a boy who likes boys, dressed as a girl, singing a song about having unrequited love for a boy, who can't love them regardless of what they do because they are the same sex.
Man, does this tear open some deep, deep wounds. And they're put against a soundtrack that couldn't have been written or performed better, nor could have had a better performer perform it.
Just... immaculate. I'll probably never forget this.
