One of Zeppelin's best , and there are many. A personal favorite. You're listening to it the best way , with headphones. The subtlety and mood is best heard through the headphones. Thanks for doing this. 🎸🤘🔥
Secret weapon: John Paul Jones, bass, 2nd guitar, mandolin, keyboards ( he played bass lines with foot pedals on the live numbers that had keyboards, plus incredible arranger. He was top tier in all aspects
One of the best things about Zeppelin was when a new album came out you didn't know what you were getting. They never disappointed, never a bad song in my book.
All lights out but the glow of the stereo, headphones 🎧 plugged into the head unit, needle drops on the vinyl and No Quarter begins!!🔥 only way to experience it.....
You Are so easy to agree with. Led Zeppelin is my favorite. I also Love No Quarter. I have seen them in concert 3 times 75 and 77 in Seattle. Greatest of all time. Thanks, enjoy your journey
So glad you are starting with the studio version. Bonham's beat with the amazing ghost notes on the snare during the chorus is by itself enough to deem this song totally badass, then when you add that absolutely nasty guitar tone Page uses during the chorus, John Paul Jones' stop and start keyboard work and of course Plant's haunting vocals, man just too much, and that is just the chorus we're talking about! All of the subtlety and interplay within the band is captured so amazingly in the studio version. That said, the original unedited version from MSG 1973, Song Remains the Same, OMG, earthmoving.
Led Zeppelin has been covered by many. There was a whole album created by multiple groups covering different Zeppelin tunes. The album was called Encomium. Bands like Hootie and the Blowfish, Stone Temple Pilots, 4 Non Blondes, and many others. check them out. Another awesome cover other than the Tool cover, is a cover of Stairway to Heaven by Heart. This was at the Kennedy Honors held some years back. John Bonham's son was the drummer for that performance.
I usually prefer reactors do studio versions of songs, especially Led Zeppelin, since their live versions are often very different from the studio versions. That being said, I totally agree with you on this song. That live version of No Quarter from The Song Remains the Same is awesome. So if you do a separate reaction to that version, you'll hear this song in a totally different way that I think you'll love. This song comes alive in that version.
The entire song from the first note of the intro takes you to that place. First you're in the home of those waiting for the return. Then the piano, synth, & guitar just sweep you off to the blizzard and rocky cliffs that have stopped the travelers, and you are there with them driving themselves through the falling, piling, blowing sleet and snow. You can feel the conditions waft between icy wet freezing snow, to the ironically colder but softer snow squalls and horizontal streams of fine blowing crystals. I see wolf and bear carrying nothing but their fur, tooth, & claw vs mankind having to carry everything they need, skin wearing the hides of the wolf & bear, all their guts burning their fuel of flesh, winning only every icy breath they struggle for and frozen step they fall upon.
I took these lyrics to my dad and asked him what did he think(while listening)at 19 he said this is about world war 3...luv and miss him. This a man that took me on my 13 B-day in 1980 to watch the Wall...lol
Now you have to see this live from the film Song Remains the Same. Must-hear songs from the film: No Quarter, Song Remains the Same, The Rain Song, and Dazed and Confused. After you watch these four songs, especially Dazed and Confused, you will NEVER see any other band as even coming close the the perfection that is Zeppelin.
I just got this album as a Christmas gift last Saturday.....if you like this song....then listen to "The Rain Song" and "The Crunge" a little James Brown influence who he use to hang out to. The Album is "Houses of The Holy."
One of my top 5 SONGS period. Zepp #1 alltime no doubts. Surprised you hadn't made it to this one yet. My only regret was hitting the like button and not leaving it at perfect 420!
The song "Nobody's Fault but Mine" off of the album Presence has tremendous drumming by John Bonham, and great guitar work and vocals by Page and Plant. This tune is an excellent choice you made here,, and anything else off of the Houses Of the Holy LP is truly top notch.. Thanks.
Since you like Led Zeppelin so much, you might like the Genesis song Squonk. Not that Genesis was usually that close stylistically to LZ despite being a British band of the 70s, but Squonk was kind of their response to Kashmir, maybe.
The studio version is fantastic, there are however 3 SUBLIME live versions, 1 msg 73 arguably jimmies best ever solo!! 2 earls court 75, jonesy really stretches out the piano part and 3 listen to this eddie from 77, FANTASTIC almost jazz jam in that 1
When you get a chance, check out the live version from The Song Remains the Same soundtrack. Not from the movie as that is heavily edited. The original release from 1976 is the best live version of No Quarter.
I can't wait for the Tool version. I'm not sure I've ever heard it. Good reactions, man. I like the drummers perspective you bring. Alot! This prob is my top Zep song. It's hard to be solid on that.
I love the studio version but one of my all time favorite songs is taken to a whole other level when played live. You owe it to yourself to follow up with the live version from Madison Square Garden in 1973 - SRTS. It's a masterpiece.
Yo bro, check out Zep on the song "Fool In The Rain" Kashmir, and Achilles Last Stand. I could go on and on. I agree this is the baddest band in the land.
Dude (is your name spelled Chaud?) I was one of the people requesting Santana's "All I Ever Wanted" knowing how much you love a good kick in the butt (musically soeaking). Similarly, another song that I'm surprised few people react to that I guarantee you'll love is Led Zeppelin's "Nobody's Fault but Mine" (studio version from the Presence album). You won't be disappointed
I had tickets to see Zeppelin in 1977 but Robert Plant’s son died and the concert was canceled. His son is on this album cover (with his daughter). How sad 😪
I gotta mention, you should also check out the 1973 MSG live version of No Quarter. The guitar solo on that is among Jimmy's best solos ever, as Yenlard 66 also mentioned. But there are several videos out there which aren't complete. Might be best to get it straight from Song Remains the Same live album.
For insane musicianship- listen to their song- Nobody's Fault But Mine. Also try something a little different by them- Ocean and The Battle Of Evermore.
Just subscribed because of how much I’ve enjoyed your SRV & Led Zep reactions so if I may...next LZ should be Achilles Last Stand Live and for SRV Tin Pan Alley w/Johnny Copeland. I know both will blow your mind. Really have enjoyed the reactions. Thx ❤️
You won't change your mind. Once someone says Led Zeppelin is their favorite group, that's it. Have you reacted to D'yer Mak'er? I'm going to have to check.
Chod, I havent been able to watch. I'm so sick. I just wanted you to know you are very good at what you do. Dont stop! I may not be around for much more. But please know there are people who need you!
While most do their biggest hits from the first four albums or the last two this is the first I've seen from this album. Though I don't care for the album as a whole this song is worth listening to, but Physical Graffiti was the apex of the band.
I grew up listening to this song ...and loved it that being said ever since I heard. TOOL and thier cover I have not heard this version in years for a reason in my opinion TOOL takes remakes and OWNS this song now. And I say this as a major fan of ZEPPELIN
Some one/everyone in the band were/are The Lord Of The Rings fans(back when we read the books cause they are better than the movies) This is one those songs , in which they are referencing to parts in the books, Jimmy Page, I believe being the main lyricist.
If you're digging song structure and John Paul Jones piano/keyboard playing, then you really need to look into the song In The Light on their album Physical Graffiti. For something a little more intense, try In My Time Of Dyin' on the same album. Or maybe just react to the whole album.
One of Zeppelin's best , and there are many. A personal favorite. You're listening to it the best way , with headphones. The subtlety and mood is best heard through the headphones. Thanks for doing this. 🎸🤘🔥

You forget to close your parentheses brother.
Zepp's answer to Geddy Lee!
JPJ is a great jazz artist as well.
So many people over look john. He is a god. You know you're in a good band when you're a genius, and the least known member. Lol
@@SuperPlacido1 He was a little excited.
JPJ was the glue. The grown up in the band but got the least credit
One of the best things about Zeppelin was when a new album came out you didn't know what you were getting. They never disappointed, never a bad song in my book.
Just watched over 3 hours of Led Zeppelin live at Earls Court from 1975; what a show!
Their best song
Nobody's Fault But Mine - Led Zeppelin
All lights out but the glow of the stereo, headphones 🎧 plugged into the head unit, needle drops on the vinyl and No Quarter begins!!🔥 only way to experience it.....

I saw them in 75 :)
@@scottus1955 Great Experience I hope. I loved and love their music. Be great

I'm with you! Greatest Band!!!
That guitar riff is a high point in Rock 'n Roll swagger. It's the chemistry between Paige and Bonham that pulls it off with accuracy and aplomb.

dude, i've been listening to Zep since i was 15....almost 35 yrs and i STILL can't pick out my favorite zep song
Mine changes constantly lol
I’ve been listening to them from 1969....favorite is Kasmir. But I love most of their songs.
This is probably my favorite. But damnit. Achilles last stand, Kashmir, since I’ve been loving you. Maybe I can’t choose lol
You being a drummer "Moby Dick" would come to mind, and "Fool In The Rain" for the sweet shuffle. "Dazed And Confused"
Gotta do Moby Dick live
And.. Boogie With Stu. That is such a fun and silly song and good good boogie.. =)
In My Time of Dying
Please check out How Many More Times from their 1970 Royal Albert Hall concert!
The video of that disappeared off yt a while ago unfortunately
I like the 1969 one
@@juliemanarin4127 Denmark? I like that 1 too but for me the Royal Albert Hall is the best version
Yeah, I have that one on my car thumbstick - totally awesome with the medley.
@@Scoobydcs just that clip or the whole concert?
You should definitely hear the live version from The Song Remains the Same. Jimmy’s solo might be his best ever to tape 🔥
I agree.

Give yourself a Christmas present and do Achilles last Stand!
Absolutely!
Do the live version from 1979 at Knebworth !!Bonzo is ridiculous 🥁🎧
Studio version. Jimmy's solo is incredible,
Do the studio 1st then live!
Yes live 79!
Well noted sir. Probably LZ most underrated track. Beautifully eery, hypnotic guitar, sublime piano interlude.
The entire song from the first note of the intro takes you to that place. First you're in the home of those waiting for the return. You should see this live from MSG! Also do Achillies Last Stand live in 1979! By far my favorite band too! Tool can't even compare!
Yo!!! I’m glad you took my advice! Enjoy, my dude!

HOW MANY MORE TIMES...no one ever does that one!!! Not sure why because it's truly amazing!!! And of course the Lemon song!!! Studio versions!!!
And I Can’t Quit You Babe
I just got this album as a Christmas gift last Saturday.....if you like this song....then listen to "The Rain Song" and "The Crunge" a little James Brown influence who he use to hang out to. The Album is "Houses of The Holy."
I love all led zeppelin but I agree, this one and battle of evermore takes me to another world.
I consider this song one of my life themes.
PSSSSST......do 'The Crunge' from Houses of the Holy
And 'Royal Orleans'
(it's bass stuff)
Do the live version of this at Madison square garden 1973 it has my favorite live guitar solo OF ALL TIME!
Legendary solo!
My thoughts exactly!! It really is the best solo ever.
He should definitely listen to that live version
They kill it live! Amazing!
The Fabulous Forum, 1973
Do TEA FOR ONE!!!! By Led Zeppelin Drumming and guitar is amazing!!!
Not enough reactions on it! Great song!!
Yes, check out Joe Bonnamassa. He does a great cover.
Dam I just love this song!!!! Talk about unique.

GOATs. Bootlegs of this song from '73 thru '80 are amazing journeys of incredible variety.
oooohhhh.. feel the north wind blow and the ancient Norse gods come closer. I love this song... Your love for Led Zep made me a new subscriber =)
Heart does the best covers of Led Zeppelin in general.
The song "Nobody's Fault but Mine" off of the album Presence has tremendous drumming by John Bonham, and great guitar work and vocals by Page and Plant. This tune is an excellent choice you made here,, and anything else off of the Houses Of the Holy LP is truly top notch.. Thanks.
Probably their most underrated song! Plant’s harmonica solo is f’ing unbelievable!
What a song. I've been listening to this song for about 27 years and I still cannot believe how amazing it is.

Awesome song by my favorite band
It's also super jazzy. That piano solo in the middle sounds like Vince Guaraldi if he found god and then took The Peanuts gig.
I can't wait for the Tool version. I'm not sure I've ever heard it.
Good reactions, man. I like the drummers perspective you bring. Alot!
This prob is my top Zep song. It's hard to be solid on that.

The inspiration of the writing of this song comes out of the book called The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien
10 years only of the best band ever!!!

The DRUMS though. He makes it sound easy. That 16ths swing....
Wait till you hear "The Rain Song" and "Over the Hills & Far Away" both off the same album.
In high school in the 80's I used to fall asleep to this every night. It was my wind-down song
I still do...
My fav song of all time
2 of the best and most overlooked songs: HOW MANY MORE TIMES, THE LEMON SONG...studio versions!!!!!!
Orchestrated by JPJ who played bass AND keys! One of my favs

Kenny Loggins - I'm alright
The Who - Baba O'Riley

The tool cover
Check the live version... Super epic! Theatrical video sections from their original live video.
