Led Zeppelin is everyone's favourite band, some people just don't know it yet.
They've been part of the soundtrack to my life, I was teenager back in the 70s, saw them in concert a couple of times, I was never a huge fan
What the Hell was wrong with me?!!..
A couple of years ago at the age of 62 I realized just how Sensational this band was!!!...
Forgive me Lord for I have Sinned!!!...
They are great, been listening to them since about 73, but there are not my favorite band, maybe top 5 but not number 1!
Nope. As a kid in the early seventies, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath sounded better to me. Cheerio.
Lol. It's true
THEY HAVEN'T BEEN BORN YET.
When someone asks me what my favorite Zeppelin song is, I just say "All of them."
"...whichever song I'm listening to at the moment."
You just can’t choose.
Agreed!!!
It's a fargin twick queshin
And that...is the correct answer.
If this ain't played @ my funeral? I'm not going!
Greatest band of all time
Fuckin A
I dare say that we had the best “gettin’ high to” music of any generation.
You nailed it :)
Find it hard to imagine you getting high, your profile picture looks like an election candidate 😂
One of Bonzo's greatest tracks....and that is saying something.
I’ve always loved the production on this track. Sounds like Bonzo is playing in my living room.
Hes hitting the drums soo hard like wow!!
Sounds like they recorded this during the blitz with all that thunder at the end.
I've never heard drums like that . Led Zeppelin is one of those bands where you can listen to a song several times just concentrating on listening to each instrument individually , and be amazed by each member of the band. They were 3 incredible players with one of the best vocalists in rock history . It almost wasn't fair
Each album is meant to be listened to as a whole... Back to back. Although, every song stands alone. These men were maGic together. Never tire of listening to LZ!
so true - Zeppelin is not a "singles" band where you play the 2 minute 30 second songs that make u happy... LZ is serious music for serious music listeners and missing any Zep tune would be a mistake.... BESIDES, once you turn on Led Zeppelin-1 there is no way you'd want to skip a single song, ever
The start drum break and rhythm sequence before the first vocal is pure gold... 'I go down on my knees hey yeh - take me home etc' Plant & Bonzo in tandem are sooooooooooo fucking good
No one sounded like them or played together as a single entity like them. Rock geniuses.
Fun fact: John Paul plays a fretless bass so he can "slide" along with Jimmy's slide guitar playing.
Thanks - I didn't know that. Do you know what it was? A Fender or an Alembic? Page used a Danelectro 6 string - that's my contribution. IMTOD - It's a a key LZ moment but I think that the drumming on this track is just totally fucking wholly stunning. I genuinely love it. It makes me smile. Apparently there's a tape of Bonham and Keith Moon jamming - can you imagine what that's like?
@@michaelmouse4024 I'm not sure what JPJ used. I think it was an Alembic. I just noticed in the live video from Earls Court that it looked like a fretless. I hope I'm right and not seeing things. 😂
@@skatter44 Apparently JPJ used an Alembic on Achilles Last Stand after talking to Stanley Clark about basses etc , so your observation makes sense. Peace & that dude - Enjoy - ruclips.net/video/AzshyFC92mg/видео.html
P bass fret less
"Achilles Last Stand" is epic! You'll come out the other end a changed man.

Best Band
LZ kills it, with each member, song after song after song, album after album after album,. NO other band does that over that many recordings. That's what makes them the GOAT.
Greatest of all time indeed... They are also the SRS [ Saville Row Suit ] the RRC [ Rolls Royce Corniche ] and the .44 Magnum of heavy rock.
Yes other bands have done that, LOL
I love this song. Drummer John Bonham totally kills it in this song. I have a hard time refraining from playing the "air drums" to this song. I'm a hospice nurse and introduced this to my team as great hospice anthem.
It was originally a black gospel song so that makes sense
God, I love this song. It never gets old. My all time favorite...
Led Zeppelin lives between the notes. A Great band indeed.
Sorry not only great - they were GOAT.
There is a great live video of this performed at Earls Court from 1975. From an old blues song “Jesus Make Up My Dying Bed.”
Truly the best band ever!!!
The early British bands, espcially the guitarist, would study old American blues recordings. They would listen to those recordings over and over learning the singing and guitar styles. The would use that influence throughout their careers in the music they wrote and played.........and thank heaven they did. The old American blues from the 1920's through the 1950's still worth checking out today.
I'm from Chicago so I am very familiar with the Blues. Kingston mines.
You get it! You understand! Led Zeppelin feeds my spirit like no other band
Zep is my hubby's favorite band above any others! And a few years ago, while watching a cable rock music show, that I won't mention, there was a segment that asked what is the number one rock, hard rock song and immediately my hubby says, "That's gotta be Whole Lotta Love!" But to his surprise and utter dismay, it turned out to be "Welcome To The Jungle" by GNR. Hubby says, "I like it, I like it a lot but number one?!" That wasn't enough. On another segment of this show, Dee Snyder, the frontman and singer for Twisted Sister was on and when a row of Zeppelin albums were placed on a wall in chronological order. One of the hosts asked. "which ones, if any, would you get rid of?"And Dee walked up and knocked down all but the first four! At that point hubby, standing by then, addressed the TV and said, "Really??!!" "A has been whose total career can be summed up in a one paragraph obit, and only remembered for the one goofy song wearing more makeup then a cheap streetwalker!!!" I don't remember ever watching that show again! LOL!! True story! He loves his Zeppelin!
I love them just as much! Every album...every song A masterpiece!
susan figueroa and it’s my wives hubbies also! 😊🐐s
Dee Snyder is from Long Island not far from where I live. I saw Twisted Sister every Thursday night at a big rock club on Long Island for two years straight in the 70's before they had their moment in the sun. he should be ashamed of himself for knocking all the albums but the first 4 off the wall. Especially since I think Physical Graffiti is there best album. yeah and I agree. A band with two hits for their career should not be being asked about Zeppelin in the first place.
I'm glad you're back to Led Zeppelin one of my favorite all-time rock groups. They are among the gods of Rock n' Roll Bands we created, Hahaha...lol....hahaha...Welcome back to The Rabbit Hole!!! ;)
Everything they do is amazing! This one live from Earls Court is killer! And everything you said is why they are my favorite!
You sir are one of the best reactors on You Tube. I find others have this irresistible desire to hit the pause button to talk and its usually at the worst moment so I just move on to the next reactor. I grew up with Led Zeppelin and In my Time of Dying is my favourite track of all Led Zeppelin stuff. Best Vocals BEST Guitarist BEST Base and certainly the BEST drummer of all time. Thanks mate. I love Rusty Dime's comment below its so true
All I can do when I hear this is smile from ear to ear! Bonzo’s drumming is amazing. Doubles, triples and I don’t know what to call some of it. One of my best songs by anyone. This whole album was awesome! Thanks for your reaction!
Amen
Growing up in London the guys in the band love the Black American blues
A lot of their songs are from great black American blues singers in the 20s 30s 40s
In my time of dying, the lemon Song(killing floor) when the levee breaks And baby I’m gonna leave you and more
You should check out where Led Zeppelin derive from
Tea for one and I'm gonna crawl
No rush man. There's plenty of Zeppelin to keep you reacting to for years though. 90 songs or so and then all their live stuff, bootlegs, etc. Enjoy the ride. And thanks for reacting to this, it's one of my favorites. This is an old gospel/blues tune from 1929 by Blind Willie Johnson. They have another one by him called Nobody's Fault but Mine, also a personal favorite. When you get a chance check out this live version of In My Time of Dying at Earl's Court...pretty epic. ruclips.net/video/xTrQ7vUZsIo/видео.html
'Sick Again' on Physical Graffiti. The peak of Bonham's power - pure genius.
I'm surprised that as a drummer, no one has recommended you the Led Zep song 'Bonzo's Montreux', it's virtually a drum solo the entire song from John Bonham and basically allowed the band to take a mini break during live shows
Great reaction. You noticing how the drums follow the guitar - that is one unique thing about Zeppelin. They lock in, and the bass can wander a bit, or lock in with the guitar/drums. Zeppelin does so much at such a high level, they are peerless.
Brother from another mother! My first song was, ‘The Ocean’ it was 1974 (14yrs) and it blew me away- always a Zep fanatic!
✨✨✨🤙🏼✨✨✨
"In My Time of Dying" (also called "Jesus Make Up My Dying Bed" or a variation thereof) is a traditional gospel music song that has been recorded by numerous musicians. The title line, closing each stanza of the song, refers to a deathbed and was inspired by a passage in the Bible from Psalms 41:3 "The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing, thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness".
Blind Willie Johnson
I was walking around Charleston SC one Sunday morning and heard a church congregation was singing this song .
Amen and of course the lines ..Jesus meet me in the middle of the air !! is from 1st Thes 4:13 - 18 ..Paul letting us know of one of the Church mysteries of the catching away or Harpazo..xoxox
One of my most favorite Zeppelin songs, these guys were heavily influenced by Blues... They're just legendary!
“Ten Years Gone” my man. You’re welcome.
The most beautiful guitar solo ever. Not necessarily the most difficult but just so tasteful and the flow with the song is what makes it so amazing.
Yes absolutely beautiful!
"Nobody's Fault But Mine ". You're welcome.
@@patrigilligan2112 No doubt! The drums and Plant’s harmonica solo are epic in “Nobody’s Fault but Mine”! In my opinion, it’s their most underrated song ever.
Why is everyone so ga ga over a mediocre song?
Is this really, the first time you heard this song ?What a treat it must be I have enjoyed this song, For uuuhhh 45 Years oops Has it been that Long!!
Led Zeppelin recording this in a Cathedral....oh you want Transitions....Yes are the Masters of Transitions!!!!
Had to come back to this one from you. Great reaction man very well said. Love how you take in everything yet never waiver for appreciating every single drum lick and nuance of even the subtleties JB lays down from the kit. The support of JPJ blends and stays so on point it's easy to overlook but add that's solid layer necessary in the rhythm section. Great job again & thanks. Phenomenal song...one of my favs from the greatest LZ. Mark
Robert Plant is a sweet dude and has a great self-depreciating sense of humor. He’s referred to LZ in a lot of ways, but my favorite is “Zeppelin was like a power trio with a wedding singer”.
I don't know if you ever did this one live, but if not, you absolutely have to see Jimmy Page go off on this one live at Earl's Court! it's supernaturally unbelievable.
This is one of my favorites by them, and that is saying a lot! Incredible guitar and drum work throughout!
Led Zeppelin is my favorite too
Led Zeppelin is a powerhouse.
I really don’t think there’s another song with the ferocity of the drums found on this track. Ridiculous 🥁
Out On The Tiles.
In My Time Of Dying is a close second to Levee as the reason I wanted to play drums.
The bass drum notes are heartbreakingly perfect but I could never nail the 16ths bits.
Out on the Tiles is one of the first songs I tried to learn on the guitar. It didn't go so well 😅
My favourite song from the "Physical Graffiti" album. Thanks for the reaction amigo...
Robert's voices in not just for vocals, it's an Instrument too.
Probably my favorite Zep song after "The Crunge".
No apology needed for a gap in LZ reactions. Led Zepplin will ALWAYS be there for you and the universe!
Time to check out Nobody's Fault But Mine. It is the quintessential Zep tune. It has all the elements.
Songs like this and Achilles Last Stand are absolute hell to memorize the structures of and lengths of the different sections. Please forgive our cheat sheets on stage.
He portrays an Angel .... All his songs are a glimpse of history's tales. ROCK GODS! My favorite Band for 40 years!
First time listeners : You didn't know you wanted to hear it, until you did.😬
The Mighty Zeppelin.
Every time I put this on and the earbuds in--takes me to planet DRUMS.
P.S. I like to hear the album versions 1st and then the LIVE version - doesn't seem to make sense to do it in reverse. Thanks, Wilburn.
I too have suffered from that 'ear bud' problem....,,,, they were "absorbed" and I'm likin it
LZ will forever be the G.O.A.T of rock bands! This song is now stuck in my head all day, and I welcome it! I would check out "Out on The Tiles" off of LZ III.
I love Led Zep IV but Physical Graffiti is just too good an album. imho.
I agree. I was a fan of theirs before but did not possess some of their albums. Physical Graffiti is the record that caused me to go out and buy all the rest of the albums I didn’t already have.
Found you a few days ago and enjoy the hell out of your channel. Your reactions are honest and you dig deep - you obviously have knowledge about instruments and my very favorite thing is you don’t interrupt the song! You and Jay-Rah are the only two that play songs through and keeps it real. I’m with you for the ride as long as it lasts. Peace brother. 💜🎵🤘🏿😎💜
Awesome you made it around to this classic piece of greatness. Johns beats are the best, fills are always changing but so tasty!!! I saw the smile get big when Page hits that slide guitar....Roberts vocals again on point. Bass always hiding in the weeds as the perfect glue. The greatest band ever! OK Gallows Pole / Nobody's fault. Led is a BLUES band. Tool is great but doesn't have the blues and is always so heavy, I list Janes Addiction as my second greatest transition band. Coming down the mountain / Ocean Size / Nothings Shocking / Summertime Rolls all mood changing transitional greatness! Get on the Janes Train braddah
Yeah its a combination of the transitions, the old blues licks hardened up, and just their plain talent, and recording whatever they're feeling instead of reaching for some producer's whim. On " I Cant Quit You Babe" you can hear Jimmy try to hit the top after a solo and miss it by like a whole measure , and they just said screw it, we're Zeppelin, leave it on there lol
The rain song live 1973 - Zeppelin at their finest.
Great band! Great recording. ROBERT JOHNSON!
Drums may have been in a stairwell at "Headly Grange", a home located in country setting LZ used to create some of their albums, LZ IV being the first i believe. This is where they recorded LZ IV and first used stairwell for JB's drums for "WHEN THE LEVEE BREAKS". They used the Stones mobile recording studio to record album
Boogie With Stu..... this is a deep track that is a must listen 🎧 🔥🔥🔥
Ian Stewart played piano on the track. He is the 6 then stone. Only musician to play with them. Also plays on rock and roll.
“Going to California” live from Earls Court♥️
Yes!
Subbed! This is such an excellent example of how LZ takes an old gospel song and reworks it into a rock experience!
for your next zep song you should mix it up a little. try "The Rain Song". It's been said that George Harrison of the Beatles was talking smack to bonzo about how zep had never done a ballad so page sat down and composed the melody then Plant wrote the lyrics. They crushed it! imo (and I'm not alone on this), it's one of the most beautiful songs you will ever hear.
The GOATs
You gotta watch the live version in Earl's Court in 1975.
Just the drum track alone is awesome!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Keep Rockin’ 🤟🏽
Nothing before or since quite like the Mighty Zep.
Most drummers play along with the bass. Bonham usually played along with the guitar.
Moby Dick Live at MSG is a must especially for people who play. You will finally see why John Bonham is considered the greatest rock drummer of all time his power can't be matched
They are the Michael Jordan of rock. And blues. Blue/rock. When they were here in '75, PG had not been released so the first time we heard this tune and several others was live. I remember thinking, "Never heard that one but is sounds awfully good'.
The funkiest free form jam of all time. Yes I know they had a frame work in mind. But the end result is apex predator funk band that rocked
Achilles Last Stand Live
Funk, soul and rock all in one nice package!!
You have to listen to the live version of Moby Dick 15 minute drum solo by the Master
Probably Led's heaviest song
You mentioned you love the organ and play drums then Zeppelin song Trampled Under Foot is perfect for you. Enjoy
HAY MY MAN WILBURN... YA ROBERT PLANT BEFORE ZEPPELIN WAS A FOLK INPERATED SINGER ... COULD BE IN THE JAZZ, BLUES, COUNTRY SORT OF FLAVOR... VERRY EARTHY AN FULL OF SOAL... BUT HI SURE HAS THE POWER TO BACK- IT- UP... FER- SHER... STAY COOL MY MAN... PEACE...
I remember when this whole album 1st came out and I was like I don't know 22 or so the critics hated it. Because it was different from the previous albums. But dam this album has so many good songs on it and this one is on the top of the list.
bonham was a MONSTER here!!!!
ps this track was straight up recorded live in the studio. they simply played it through together, hence the jamming
"it's about time"......
may I be of assistance,?..... lol..
just a little help...
"The Lemon Song"
"The Rain Song"
"Thank You"
"Hey,Hey,What Can I Do"
"Ten Years Gone" (my favorite ❤️ after all these year).
"Kashmir"
"Since I"be Been Loving' You"
"Over The Hills And Far Away"
"I'm Gonna' Crawl"(A MUST LISTEN,Dude)
I'll be back,see ya'......
Would love to hear your top ten groups/solo artists that you’ve heard so far. It would be hard, but I bet that Zeppelin, Rush, Floyd, Queen Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, Janis Joplin...maybe Boston and Bob Seger would make it.........Oh, but we can’t forget Supergrass, now can we.....snark.
Drummer John Bonham was pretty good. ;)
Agreed!
Dude, did I need this. Thanks. Now flip the album and check out In the Light.
I'll second that. Absolute killer track.
Great reaction. Thank you
It's blues through and through
For great musicanship- try Traffic- Empty Pages.
This tune in my humble opinion is their masterpiece! 🐐s😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 you should check this tune out live! He is a blues singer upmost. They do the blues beautifully. It’s the core of them!
I like Led Zepplin. And besides 4 thumbs down, every one else whos normal does too.
Mr. Wilburn. First thank you for sharing your musical experiences with us. 2nd, please react to this Led Zep hardcore funk tune titled "For Your Life" Thank you sir. Rich Mirandi.
that bass beautiful
The reason you hear his bluesy tone is because the song is a gospel blues song written by Blind Willie Johnson in 1922
I dont know where you got that piece of misinformation but this is a gospel hymn that has been sung by congregations since long before Blind Willie Johnson was born. Several artists have recorded versions of this song. Johnson may have recorded his own version of it but he certainly didn't write In My Time of Dying
@@Cincinnatus1869 He changed the lyrics and the music so it’s a new song. Not the same hymn.
You're a great reactor and a nice man. You can be my neighbor anytime..
Awesome.
I thought you might want to listen this song live Again watching live is exceptional
He made it!! 😭😭🙌🏽
Try The Girl I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair. The only complaint you can have is it's to short. Zeppelin Rules.
