PSPS John Whittle interview

Former Caledonian MacBrayne Chief Executive John Whittle gives an interview to the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society (Scottish Branch) which was recorded in October 2022.
John tells his story as he lead Caledonian Steam Package Company to become Caledonian MacBrayne. He also tells how Waverley was gifted to the PSPS for £1 and the lead up to the offer.

By gifting the Waverley to the PSPS almost 50 years ago, John Whittle and his colleagues at Calmac and STG left a wonderful legacy for millions to enjoy, not just on the Clyde, but around the UK coastline. It would never have happened without his foresight and that magnificent gesture. Thank you John!
