Can we take a moment to appreciate how visually impressive Joel looks here when he is getting emotional. His lips start to tremble, his eyes are watering and have turned red. He is clearly trying to not to break down. Visually naughty dog are a pioneer. Hate on TLOU2 all you want but this scene was spectacular and very emotional.
Completely agree.
The longer my brain and goddamned soul are given to accept the brutal death, the more I see of this stories beauty.
The ending is shit tho, nothing’s gonna change that.
crackmalta well said
CheeseBread The problem was Abby. That character should’ve been done much better to the point where she (should’ve been a he imo) was much much more likable. Her actions were more than justified but it ended up with me just wanting to rip her guts out so I think that’s why the ending didn’t work. I just couldn’t not hate her even though they tried their best to make us feel bad for her.
why abby had to be a him?
Mauricio Jose Idk equality I guess. I have no problem with female empowerment but I think it is already well presented in the game and maybe a little too forced with big brawny Abby. Just made it less realistic/immersive.
I don’t know what’s worse. Losing someone before you can try and fix things or losing them right after you begin to fix them; regretting not doing it sooner and longing for what could have been. Heartbreaking nonetheless.
Love your comment. For my part, I'm glad they at least started. :)
Like a father talking to his daughter....RIP Joel. #LastOfUs
When Joel says “The Lord”, it kind of makes me think he found God during his time in Jackson, and that was really comforting to me.
Didn’t think this game was a year old already so a super late reply but I’m pretty sure Joel was always a Christian/believed in God. When Sarah is dying in the first game he repeatedly says “please God don’t do this” and whatnot.
@@MyEternalReward true, i just finished playing the first game recently though and joel mentions once to ellie that he had more or less completely lost his faith. it’s good to know he found it again :)

AT LAST HIS LAUGH-CRYING MEME IS GONNA PAY OFF
Except the laughing that's just not gonna happen here at all
Honestly, I've seen people say they dislike Ellie for staying mad at Joel, but this scene really says otherwise. She's putting away so much because she, deep in her heart, would always rather be there with Joel then be angry with him. She had to wrangle that she loves him so deeply, she'd have to forgive all the lives -- and the choice for her own -- that he took. In all of it, she never doubted how much he loves her.
DEEPLY loved Ellie! I wish to have this kind of love for someone one day. 20 years of isolation and loss does terrible things to people, he found a way through all of it to find a reason to keep living, it was her.
This gets me every time. Knowing what's about to come, that she'll never get the chance to actually forgive him, to see the effect that living in that community has had on her and how much she has grown, to see her take that step and be ready to learn to forgive, just before it was ruthleslly taken away, is heartbreaking.
Well just because he's dead doesn't mean she can't forgive him. I mean she shows that she forgives him with her actions. She knows why Joel did what he did. Glad she had this talk before he died
Her life did mean something, it meant something to Joel, and the moment he said he’d do the same thing over again is when she realized what her life meant to him.
Right! Her life would not have meant anything to some of the people she would've cured. There's so many vaccines today in which we wouldn't even know how they were made or what sacrifices took place to make them, on top of that humanity never seemed to have learned anything from these pandemics throughout history, there was still going to be war, still going to be murderers, and corrupt leaders. 4 years ago we were isolated from everyone and now look, War in Ukraine, Palestine, and Israel. There's still killing. Yeah, Joel was right to save Ellie for her to live her own life.
Joel had his daughter taken away from him during the beginning of the outbreak and Ellie became like a second daughter to him. He wasn’t ready to let her go and he killed many of the fireflies which resulted in his death.
hug him Ellie fucking hug him
She can be a cold fish.
I refuse to believe the stuff that happened the next day, and just imagine Ellie took Joel to watch a movie like she was planning.
That's the true ending. It helps.
That's kinda cringe
@@alecg.5638 Just like your life
@@PSGAMER3047nope joel sopposed to be robocop no feelings with a daughter
This was one of the greatest scenes in videogame history
Moral of this scene is sometimes you have to forgive yourself before you can forgive others
I love how after Ellie starts to forgive him she says "Okay", like the end of the first game. It's like the lie Joel told her began and ended the exact same way.
The ending was worth it for me. It finally explained all of Ellie's rage and her infernal need for vengeance. I kept asking myself, "Jesus Ellie, at what point is enough ENOUGH?"
And when I saw this scene, I was like, "...okay, I get it Ellie."
I think shes known that for a while but that really hit a spot for her in that moment
Importantly, it's also why she spared Abby
She realized that part of the reason she was so angry about Joel's death was that she never full reconnected with Joel. Her anger at Joel for his actions in Salt Lake City and her inability to forgive him for so long meant that when he died, they had never fully healed their relationship, and she'll never be able to fix that. Abby did kill Joel, but Ellie knows that she also forgave Joel too little, too late.
That's why she spared Abby. Ellie knew that her anger and vindictive nature had cost her relationship with Joel, and while she didn't kill Joel, she had been a reason their relationship soured, and now the last thing she remembers is how much Joel cared about her and how she scorned him almost up until his death. She decided she has had enough anger in her life and finally forgives Abby, realizing that if she had forgiven Joel she would have been able to spend more time with him. Granted, Abby is always going to be antagonistic in Ellie's POV, but this was the first step in Ellie's very long emotional recovery. (And when she returns to an empty home, Ellie sees again how her inability to forgive has cost her.)
The most devastating part if this scene is you played the whole game emotional about how they never made up before his death. This made me sob. Thank you naughty dog for this game and this clarity at the end.
This! I remember tearing up halfway through the game when the "Seth's Homophobic situation" manifests, thinking that not only Joel and Ellie never got to reconnect, but also that she pushed him away the very night before his death, only to tear up even more when I realized that they DID make up, and that it was the very last interaction they had before Joel died. What a beautifully tragic story
Yeah I thought Dina was going to die but it was really Joel
part of what this game is meant to convey is "You never miss a good thing 'til it's gone" its so easy to take things for granted in life. its a rather pessimistic way to see life in but sometimes like something someone said "We make plans and god laughs" life hits you before you get a chance to even stand up.
Let’s pretend this is the ending of their story.
would've made me much happier
funny, game ends after this cutscene
i should agree
... it is the ending of their story cause he died the next day.

There is no sequel in Ba Sing Se...
Ellie didn't actually forgave Joel. With this scene we fully understand that Ellie's revenge, wasn't revenge at all. Not forgiving Abby, was actually forgiving Joel the best way she could, since that chance was stolen from her. Metaphorically, in the same way her fingers, her way to play the guitar, hence her music, was stolen from her.
YES, EXACTLY THIS. Felt this was the case since finishing the game thank you for accurately summing it up
Although yes, in this scene she does not actually forgives Joel but I think in the last fight she finally realizes the greatest pain is not that Joel has died but the anger against herself that she was unable to forgive him before he passed away. That is why she lets Abby go, because she wants to redeem herself a bit(like actually exercise forgiveness). That is why I say the ending of tloa2 is somewhat uplifting, because it takes a lot of strength to do that.
@@mgfinal
Also I like the twist this game put on the revenge trope. In most revenge stories, the protagonist is entirely justified and we all take immense satisfaction from seeing them get their revenge. In this story, the antagonist is very sympathetic because when you think about it, She was pretty justified in what she did. Joel basically killed a bunch of innocent people, or at least a bunch of undeserving people, brutally slaughtered her father in particular, and doomed countless millions to agonizing deaths at the hands of infection and the infected themselves. And for what? Because he couldn’t lose another daughter? What about all the fathers who will have to lose daughters in the future because getting infected is a death sentence? Sure it would have been nice if they had let Ellie actually make the choice herself, but we know that she would have chosen to give her life and go through with the surgery. She herself says so. So the only one that didn’t approve of this operation was Joel.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen at least another video game where the antagonist was more or less fully justified in seeking revenge against one of the protagonist.
And what’s more, Abby let Tommy and Ellie live. Her revenge was basically limited to Joel. So not only was she justified in her vengeance, she even exercised restraint because she understood that it wasn’t Ellie’s fault that Joel decided to go all Rambo and kill her father and many of her friends.
It actually hurts me to say this because I really do want to be on team Ellie here. But going through the game, I kept asking myself “Jesus Ellie! At what point is it’s enough?” She lost Joel but she then went on to go overkill by slaughtering almost all of Abby’s friends. Then even after all that, Abby only killed Jesse, and not even in cold blood. He basically burst through the door pointing a gun at her. She would have left then and there and let it go yet again. Then even though shebalmost killed Dina, she let Lev talk her out of it and she walked away.
So honestly, this is probably one of the few games where the antagonist is actually more sympathetic than the protagonist, at least in certain respects.
I think the point in the game is that there are no ‘teams’, nobody is really that much sympathetic, nothing is black and white and forgiveness and understanding is the only way to make it through. Revenge, hate, brutality, there are no silver lining in those, those do not lead to anywhere, only multiply themselves.
This game is great because it forces the gamer in an already polarised society to understand somebody finally, before labelling and pointing fingers. Something we’re all forgetting in this overstimulating world around us.
@@mgfinal
Well said my friend.
I’m sure most people can understand why Joel saved her considering how he treats her like a daughter and already lost one and doesn’t want to lose another and go through that pain which is why it makes me mad that Ellie can’t understand but also has a right because she could’ve saved people
not really, because the vaccine was not even guaranteed to work, in the first game you can find a tape recorder, where it says there has been other immune people, and that they could not make it work with them, though they thought they had it this time, but it was not 100% sure, also a vaccine is not a cure.
ElementVoidX they had multiple experiments with infected but not immune subjects. Ellie is the only immune ever mentioned in the story. Also im sure ellie understands why joel saved her. But understanding that still doesnt justify his selfish act to deny a chance to a vaccine. A goal beyond just joel and ellie. It gave ellie purpose. They went cross country for that reason. And to lie about it to her just makes it unforgivable
@@pandathug6806 not really, tell me what does a vaccine do? it gives people a chance to fight off a virus infection, not a fungal infection, and everyone already infected is fucked either way, Ellie might as well have died for nothing, Joel did the only right thing.
@@ElementVoidX well the vaccine could've made people immune too, i never thought of a vaccine that can heal zombies
@@ElementVoidX I don't understand why going after every possible reason to justify Joel's decision when the whole point always seemed to me to be that both choices he had were right in one view and wrong in another. The point would be a dilemma: would it be right to sacrifice the innocent life of someone I love for the "greater good" of saving humanity ("sacrificing the few to save the many", as he once said)? Something that is even enhanced because afterwards we discovered that it was something that Ellie wanted anyway. As much as, yes, scientifically, a vaccine is NOT a cure, the narrative wanted to put Ellie as being, literally and simply, THE CURE. She could make everyone immune like her, which would give humanity a chance to start over (which is something she comments on in the infamous part II). Otherwise, if the Firefly didn't know what they were doing and would kill Ellie for the "uncertain promise of a cure", the dilemma at the end of the game would become empty and meaningless, and joel's decision (though correct anyway for me) would not have the weight it had and it would not generate the impact that the writers wanted to generate, both internally (in relation to what Ellie wanted), and externally (in relation to the spectator/player). It would be as if the Firefly only wanted to kill Ellie for no reason, and Joel was there to save her. It would just be a typical ending.
Well she’s doesn’t fully forgive him but just states that she is willing to try, even if it takes a while
She does when she grants mercy to Abby at the end. She finally gets want Joel would go though for her. And she forgives Joel and decides to be better then what he did.
@@DwWarWolf that is so fucking stupid, Ellie no revenge = loses everything. Abby gets Revenge = still has lev, does not really lose. The entire story is just garbage.
ElementVoidX you don’t seems to understand that revenge gives you nothing. It would only eat her up alive.
Being left alive now don’t you think the killing of Joel will haunt Abby for the rest of her life. That is they key emotional takeaway
ElementVoidX Abby lost her lover and all her friends for revenge. I’m not a fan of the character but they both lost a lot
@@ElementVoidX Abby lost all her friends including the person she loved, the only reason Abby didn't loose Lev is because she ended the cycle, when she left Dina and Ellie alive, by the time Ellie decided to end it it was too late for her.
It’s so tragic. They finally begin to reconcile and then he gets killed the next day😢
Joel died without knowing that Abby is the daughter of the doctor he killed
In my eyes, Joel was trying to say the right thing when he says he’d do it over again because he clearly wants Ellie alive. And to me Ellie is genuinely frustrated but I think she regrets not saying “thank you” for saving her life
I think people who get mad at Ellie really don't understand that a 19 year old who went through what she did may not feel the same as a grown person playing a video game who loves Joel (and to be clear I love him too). It's easy to see as the player that Joel loves her and just wants to protect her, but if you look back at real life families raising kids in their late teens and early 20's you know... the kids aren't usually that rational and understanding; look at every teen movie or sitcom or just ask any parent lol. Being idealistic at the expense of interpersonal relationships is normal at that age range and it makes perfect sense that Ellie would be mad about what she thinks Joel took away from her. TLOU2 is incredible because it shows you that despite what Ellie feels, she loved Joel more than anything and despite that, and that's real. I'm tired of these haters that don't like the game because they have daddy protects little girl fantasys.
And to add on to that, even after their journey together in the first game, it still might be a little weird for her because she can see right through Joel and she knows that the main reason why he's so tender for her is because he sees her as what Sara could have been. The love is real from both of them but it's not easy to just give someone the role of "dad" in your life. I mean, ask any step child, even after everything a lot of them still cant even call their step parent mom or dad. It doesn't mean they don't love them, its just a different relationship.
Amazing scene. Hate on the story all you want but this was perfection.
@Rubix Cube Yeah. They don't understand because they wanted a stupid and predictable story. The Last of Us 2 is different, and that's what makes it so good, so perfect. There is no happy ending because this game is real, you can feel everything: the anger, the sadness and the regret of every character.
People wanted Ellie to kill Abby. And then? What would have happened? Lev would have killed Ellie, someone would have killed Lev and it would have gone like that forever. This game is perfect.

Imagine living a life that was stolen from the rest of the human race. You being alive is a death sentence to the rest of the world.
And not only is there no way to undo this, there WAS a way to and the person you love most in the world took that from you. Dooming you to the knowledge that by being alive you are letting the human race die.
OR ALTERNATIVELY: You are given the ultimate destiny, the perfect way that 100% guarantees your life has meaning and purpose, and you know you are contributing exponentially to a greater cause. And the person you love most robs you of it.
It is stunning that Ellie is able to forgive (or be willing to forgive) Joel at all. So fair play to her.
Who’s to say that it was a 100% guaranteed cure? What if the tests they ran were faulty somehow? What if the doctor botched the surgery? What if the anesthesia somehow ruined the mutation on her brain? Then Ellie would have died for nothing.

This scene is packed with more raw emotion than the entire rest of the game put together. The whole game, we got the idea that Joel died thinking Ellie hated him, when in reality, they had just started fixing their shattered relationship. This would have worked so much better in a story about mending what was broken, rather than a contrived revenge story. I don't hate the game. I genuinely like it, but god, imagine what could have been.
true💯
At first I thought Dina was going to die but then I was shocked when it was Joel
She didn't forgive him yet. She was about to, but then the next day he died
She forgive him at the end of the game when she leave the guitar on the farm to let him rest in peace, Ellie couldn't forgive herself for not forgiving Joel and tell him how much he meant for her and she couldn't let him rest until she could forgive herself
Well she said she’d like to try to forgive him. I don’t think she’s fully forgiven him yet. Probably my favorite scene in the game tho. You can tell that he really cares for her. That’s not new or anything but he’s a changed man because of her.
If she was really prepared to sacrifice her own life to save the world, then she would have already forgiven the man who wanted to save her at the cost of the whole world, these two things don't contradict to each other that much. I agree that the night when ellie said she wanted to have a try doesn't mean she was fully over it, the moment she finally forgave joel was after the battle with abby, after she left the guitar behind and moved on, which means it took the whole story, the entire game of unlimited repeated revenges and forgiveness to let ellie finally forgive joel, ellie's misunderstanding to joey was magnified to the point where we need whole second part of The last of us to be removed, it is just not worth it.
This scene kills me because after she told him that she would like to try to forgive him and he said i liked that he ended up getting killed for saving her the next night rip joel 😢😭
age is like nothing for joel because he still can fight like a young man lol
When you listen to the commentary they talked about how this scene was earlier in the story and when they moved to the end they realized it was the only place it could be. They are 100% right, during my playthrough when I learned that Ellie knew what Joel did I couldn't come to grips with why she was still pushing so hard for this. That last scene informed every decision she made.
Ellie doesn’t understand that Joel lost his daughter once,he does consider Ellie as his daughter, even if he doesn’t say it,his actions show it,i believe she is quite stubborn. He would never let her die. What a masterpiece of a game.
I always thought. After playing the first one in 2013. If they ever had made a second. The firefly would of kidnapped Ellie and Joel would have gone to rescue her again. Then the fireflies would of told Ellie what Joel had done.
It strange that Ellie says to him "you took that from me" while not taking into account that the fireflies also robbed Ellie of making that choice. If she's that mad Joel for saving her without her consent, then she should be just as mad at them for sacrificing her without her consent, tbh.
Yeah it always bothered me that he never seemed to have explained the whole story to her about what happened. Probably could have had more meaningful memories if he did
@@blanclover122 Writers just needed a reason to have tension between the two of them.
I'm watching this after the season 1 ends, and that's the end of this story for me. they live happily ever after.
The game is a masterpiece from beginning to end.
I think that is a brave proposal in comparison to the market of the triple A games, and its very original and thats awesome, but i don’t think they manage their own concept in a perfect way. I mean, i am not a script writer to say some way of fixing the flaws, but, as a critical player, i have to admit that sometimes the game turned bored for me, o certain actions didn’t have a lot of sense, and its not only my perception, i know theres more people that felt like that.
In the end, its just my opinion and i respect yours, but maybe i can make you see the things in a wider scale.
Except the abby parts. They were honestly pretty boring.
If only Tommy could've said that his name was Jean Claude Van Damme and Joel's name was Clint Eastwood!
I don’t know why people don’t like this game I personally love it, from a story point of view it’s immaculate, and whilst i and everyone else didn’t want Joel to die, in a post apocalyptic world things usually don’t go the way you want.
I’ve never actually played the game so I can’t speak for that but, watching the story was incredible
Only thing I hated was being forced to play Abby for such a long time.

Joel: I dont care about anything else in this world than you, and i dont care if they could've made the cure to save the world, because i love you.
so sad everytime i hear joel using his guitar.
Don’t care what anyone says. I imagine all of these nice cutscenes between them cannon, and then all the revenge abby plot line to not exist
I'm an atheist, but Joel saying such a thing as "The Lord" really gives me some kind of chills, 'cause it's like he mainteaned some sort of "simple, believer country man" portion of himself even amongst all the horrendous thing he went through. And considering he said such a thing to Ellie, it becomes even clearer she brought the best in him.
This is art.
Ellie probably wouldn't have been so pissed if Joel would have just said that her life matters to him. He never said it but he did show it when he pulled the biggest "All For One" moment back in the hospital. He traded the whole world for her, her death wouldn't have mattered because her life already did...to him. I guess Joel being old and tired just wanted his baby girl to love him again. So instead of saying it matters, he said if I could, I'll do it all over again and give you the ending you want.
Pretty much saying that he'll allow her to die knowing that she loved him, and he loved her. Leaving him alone again, in a world that probably wouldn't change.
Idk I'm probably dragging it.
Not getting a chance to see these two have more scenes together in TLOU2 is the real crime: It’s like separating the odd couple or Sherlock & Holmes or Beavis & Butthead or Rick & Morty.
“The Last of Us” w/o Joel and Ellie really isn’t “The Last of Us” is my mind.
Its weird people excited for season 2 when the truth is both of them getting apart from first ep to the end. No more bonding part between them.

See the best way to enjoy TLOU2 is to only remember the flash back cutseans and pretend the story ends right here with Joel and Elie staring to make up and be closer together again.
The song Joel is playing is called “Helplessly Hoping”
Your Welcome
People shit on tlou2 but dang u can feel the feels
Even if the vaccine didn’t that’s what Ellie wanted 2 die for her life to mean something and even tho everyone knows the chances of a vaccine working was slime it’s want she wanted😢
Well sure but she's just a kid and she doesn't have to die for some grand cause for her life to matter, that's just something she's convinced of. She wanted to believe she was the cure and I get that but there was a very good chance that she wasn't and she can't accept that being the case anyway. The problem is that she's not taking into consideration the gravity of Joel's choice. She couldn't fathom the bond a father has with their daughter, and after losing Sarah already and finally having that missing piece back in his life, saving Ellie or making a vaccine wasn't a choice. If anyone else in the game understood what it was like to have a child who they love more than anything, they would understand Joel's choice but instead he's villainized for it. Ellie can't forgive him because there's no way she can comprehend why he did it.
Brilliant game. If anything, this whole TLOU 2 tirade has shown that Gamers™ have no narrative literacy whatsoever. Like none.
HONESTLY MAN
Yeah, the story was so good that they had to edit the trailers to make it look like he was there the whole time, because if anyone found out what the real story was, nobody would buy it.
Part of the reason we play games is escape reality, so of course we wanted him to die in a blaze of glory. Blowing up a horde along with himself up would be ridiculous. Being bitten and staying behind or taking a bullet for Ellie are also very likely in this world they live in.
Not to mention that even if Joel was humbled by living in Jackson, that doesn’t change the fact that he survived for a long long time by not trusting anyone and killing. You mean to tell me that a guy who died because he followed random armed people into a trap, told them where they lived, and gave his name without asking what they were doing out there so close to their home and no concern for the safety of himself or his brother is the same guy who survived for 25 years because he trusted next to no one, killed people who were a threat to him, could spot a fake injury from a mile away.
I am no storytelling professional, but I know that Joel deserved better. In the instance of him ending up bitten and staying behind, he would die sacrificing himself for someone he loved, even if she couldn’t forgive him. To make that work, I have a simple fix. Make the intro be the flashbacks, have a time jump, show the strain in their relationship, have them go on one last adventure together where they mend broken bridges and then out of nowhere, Joel gets bitten and Ellie has to leave him. Sure, it’s kind of cliche, but that type of sequel is what the first game deserved.
Brayden Sheahan hey you idiot, Joel never told them his name, Tommy did, also, they were gonna all be slaughtered by that massive horde of infected, and Abby told them of a more secure location they could go to with more people to fight the horde if they had to, they had no choice but to go with her to escape the horde.
The game also firmly establishes that the people of Jackson were trying to gain their humanity back and not just shoot any human they come across.
lol pretentious tlou2 fans swear like they are smarter than everyone else, calm down. accept the fact that some people dislike the game.
This should have been more about Ellie and Joel
how tall is joel
If this didn't happen the part 2 would of been tragic at least we know that they settled it
The next game should be reuniting humanity to take back the world and end with Ellie sacrificing herself and finding a vaccine/cure
Humanity is already too far gone. I’m hoping the next game takes place in a different time with different characters who are forced to form to bond with one another.

His wife was gone early in his life, leaving up to him alone the raising of their daughter.
Then she died in his arms.
Had 20 miserable years of brutally surviving during a pandemic.
Then Ellie arrives, bringing a tiny glimpse of happiness into his life.
Then she distances, accusing him for taking away every purpose in her life and making him responsible for every death in the world after Salt Lake.
Then he was horribly murdered by that thing in Part 2.
Cute father daughter moment
It is been four years after Joel died😢. Whoever is from year 2024 July 1st, you can reply into my comments. Please. But, i am still excited about The last of us season 2 comes year 2024 or 2025 i really don’t know when it will be available on news. However it is still we all still waiting for season 2. But, i still miss Joel everyday he was like a family to me. Like father like daughter. Well, I am glad Ellie forgives Joel for lying to her after Firefly hospital. Joel made right decision about saving Ellie she was only fourteen years old child. That willing to sacrifice of saving the world. Joel was a good man, being able to be himself as like a father again.😢
i cried when i saw this scene..

As a man. And a straight. Man. I love this story. Ellie is one of the best video game characters of all time
The "Ellie has every right to be mad" thing is actually a pathetic take. "I'm pissed at my father because he saved my life". How about next time he has the opportunity to save a 14 year old girls life, he should automatically assume she wants to become a martyr and let her die. Very good logic.
I think she more upset Joel lied and gaslighted her. That’s why I would be more mad about.
Joel is not asshole Ellie thought that the fireflies only need blood Joel didn’t want Ellie to die. She shouldn’t be mad at him
ofc she should be mad at him joel doomed humanity for his own selfish reasons bc he didnt want to loose another daughter and lied to ellie all these years
@@relaxhedx7064 Dude, he didn’t doomed humanity, it was already doomed when the infection happened.
Her life wouldnt have mattered, because you cant vaccinate against funghi. Even in the TLOU universe, there are firefly recordings saying that the chances are extremely slim... also... while joel didnt leave her a choice, the fireflies didnt either...
JOEL ID LIKE TO HAVE A FATHER LIKE U AND ID DIE FOR U
So badass dad
Extremely sad scene 😔
Tlou fans : I don't think i can ever forgive you for that.
Tlou season 2 : 😔..
Tlou fans : But i would like to try
Tlou season 2 : I'd like that 😢.....
Never thought it that way...😮
Every time i watch this it makes so mad/sad that abby ruined them reconnecting but its alsp what joel probably deserved. Its a good brain scrambler
When talks about how if the lord gave him a second chance, he’d do it all over again, what does he mean? Do it all over again, as in that he’d make the same choices, or that he’d do it all again but do the opposite? So let her die in the hospital?
He’s saying that he’d kill all of them to save Ellie’s life that’s why she said she can’t forgive him but would like to try Ellie wanted her life to mean something bc her whole life has been just surviving
If Joel stays alive, we shouldn’t become happy 😔
Does anyone know the name of this song from the beginning? ;(
What is the Name of the song, that he plays in the beginning ?
When she says she'll try to forgive him, what's the song played ?
I’m trying to find this too. Can’t work it out
I don't know either, but I love that little motif. It also plays when Ellie envisions herself in space during that museum section.
Ellie hated joel for all he did? Than he dies and you see that joel was thr whole world to ellie😢
Sorry, but the flashbacks with Joel were the only good thing about this game.
I recommend actually playing it mate, you might change your mind.
@@DanAllenGaming I played the whole thing, I don't talk shit about games I never really played.
The graphics are stunning, no doubt about it, but the thing thatade tlou1 so great, was the story and the bond between Ellie and Joel. I won't go into details because most people haven't finishes the game yet, but most of the story and the ending were, atleast for me, complete BS. If you finished it already, you know what I'm talking about.
@@DanAllenGaming actually the game core mechanic it's self is good but not that 10/10 Goty those clown review does, TLOU2 is a storybase game and yet the story just make people outrage because how Dumb it is
@@DanAllenGaming such a garbage argument, i guess you also have to eat the tomato encased in mold, to know it has gone bad right? You can't just take a look at it and then say "yeah probably should not eat that".

And your life doesn't matter now? What about all the people that depend on you?

does anyone know what song joel’s playing at first
Joel could have just pointed out that making a vaccine is a complex process that can't be done by one doctor with limited supplies, but then Ellie could just point out how they live in a world where wrapping an alcohol soaked rag around your arm heals you almost instantly.
With her leaving the guitar behind, did she really forgive him?
she did, leaving the guitar means she is moving.
Is the song Joel is playing here a real song or just something they made up? I’d like to know
Helplessly Hoping
damn you, Druckman !!!
why you took him and Ellie ?!?!?
Ellie didn't die, dumbass
Can someone tell me the music at 4:00
What track is playing at 04:02 🙏️ ?
I really believe is “Unbroken” from de the main soundtrack by Gustavo Santaolalla
i wanna know the song he is playing ;-;
really emotional scene
Crosby Stills and Nash- Helplessly hoping
I hated this game, same as everyone else. Now I don’t. I understand this scene unfortunately as I feel I have been and still kind of am going through something similar to Joel. I know it’s all just a work of fiction and fairytale bs but Troy Baker nailed the emotions in Joel’s voice, somehow this scene summarises how I feel, waiting to be told I can try again.
It was not enough she should have forgiven him the whole way ellie had plans to follow joel where ever he goes but she thought she was just getting he blood drawn like me and joel thought also they wanted to kill her and pick her down like a lab rat I WUD HAVE DONE THE EXACT SAME THING AS JOEL BUT WAY MORE CRAZY SHE WAS NOT READY TO DIE SHE DID NOT PLAN ON GOING IN THERE TO END HER LIFE SO I KINDAH HATE THIS SCENCE I HATE THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF ELLIE BEING ANGRY I THINK OFF ALL PPL SHE SHUD UNDERSTAND.....
WHY DRUCKMAN, WHY COULDNT HE HAVE SURVIVED???
Naughty Dog literally had a fucking silver platter going in to make this game. All they had to do was focus on the aftermath with Joel and Ellie and this game could've easily been great. I dont think people are hurt by the fact of Joel's death and think its the way leading up to his death. He was too cautious and too wise to get cornered so easily, they killed him like he had no fucking sense going into the room with Abby and her gang. You could've kept the Joel death and make it a revenge story. The whole adventure wouldve still been about how badass ellie (a female protagonist) is using the stuff joel taught her. We didnt need to play with Abby to understand her fucking side, she couldve explained herself while ellie has her at the brink of death and it wouldve given us the same amount of value as the 10+ hours of gameplay you gave us with her. It took Thanos 5 mins to explain why he is doing what he is doing, the fact that they pushed 10hours into showing you her motives proves that they wanted us to "like" her. They could've kill joel early on in a smart way, after ellie will want to take revenge, while on her adventure let her be reminded by flashbacks with joel, of things that he taught her and have her use those things to kill the people that killed Joel. Tie that in with some emotional scenes like this one and they would've had an amazing game. The last of us one did all the heavy lifting for them it was so hard to fuck this up and they literally did.
Complete disagree. At first I wanted nothing to do with Abby, I wanted her dead, but not long after I realized what they we’re doing and it fucking worked. They wanted to humanize the “villain” by not only having you play as her but also relive her memories.
You had a person kill one of the most beloved characters in gaming and I still found myself not wanting to see her die by the end of the game. They invested so much time in her story that, whenever Abby and Ellie met, you could actually see Ellie - the main protagonist- actually dying. Their confrontations were stressful as fuck because they really could have went either way.
If I had it my way going in, it would have been all Ellie, perhaps with the exception of when you’re introduced to Abby, but this was a pretty unique direction and one that seemed to tell the story of what this time was actually like. 2 good people who are looked at as monsters by the other for killing people they care for, but in reality they’re both trying to avenge or do right by the ones the loved.
I’m guessing the plan is, if they ever do decide on doing a LOU3, this was their way of tying off Ellie’s story while getting the player invested in the next protagonist. Either way this game was a 10/10 for me. The story progression was obviously not on par with chapter 1, but what is? This was a much darker and grittier story that really focused on loss and what it can drive a person to do. I’m all about seeing Joel and Ellie together, and maybe another memory or a lost letter/video at the end would have been some nice fan service, but the hint of hope in their final meeting was enough for me(and really confirmed why Ellie went through everything she did, since she was ready to forgive him and Abby took that from her).
Considering the hype it had to live up to, I think ND did a damn good job. Standing O.
@@b0nkert0ns7 Shit was boring. All wanted to see more of Joel and Ellie, yet they kill him at the start which defeats the purpose of Last Of Us. We dont wanna see new people, we wanna see Jacksons where Tommy, Maria, Joel and Ellie live. Its always good to have new people, but I HATE PLAYING AS JOELS KILLER. It didnt make sense for Ellie to kill so many fucking enemies, just to spare her at the end like it made a difference taking another kill. Only good parts was the flashbacks with Ellie and Joel, made it feel like a real Last Of Us
@@WWMorian Dude... It would have made a huge difference killing abby. The whole Abby part was about revenge not giving you anything, which abby realized after killing joe and still having nightmares and shit. Luckily Ellie relized that earlier and started to actually process what happend.
@@Rckstar00 Ah yes. Let me just kill like 8 of your most personal friends, aswell as shit ton of Scars and Wlfs, but when Im getting to you, I'll let you go cus it isnt about revenge
