WHO WE ARE
SkyFi Audio is a small startup business specializing in the purchase, reconditioning, and reselling of select high end audio equipment. We only buy equipment that we admire and are passionate about. No mid-fi, no gimmicks, and no junk.
Each piece of equipment is cosmetically restored and fully tested in our well-equipped lab by an engineer with 30+ years of experience in the HiFi world. If it does not meet or exceed the original manufactures specifications, it will not be sold. We are very selective about the equipment we purchase, focusing on mostly analog, high-build quality, American, and European built units.

That’s a lot of money to watch Dora the Explorer.
😁
Or, Mitch McConnell.
But not for Sports Center
Very impressive gear ! Thanks for sharing.
Aesthetically beautiful. Amazingly powerful, Audiophile accurate. Sign me up for these made in the USA beauties.
Those amps are craziness. Very cool
All very discreet, especially with those huge, tasteful McIntosh logos on each power supply. Am I still allowed to say, "only in America..."?
Must be, they won't ship them....
And now class D Purifi amps take up 1/32 the space, cost, and energy to produce a cleaner, nigh distortion-free signal. What a world we live in.
Can you elaborate on this, please.? I have seen expensive amplifiers that weight about 10-20kg. How is it possible?
@@JW-wt8yu absolutely. Look into units that utilize the Purifi amplifier unit. NAD just released one but it’s overpriced because you are essentially paying for their pretty case, but is a good reference to see published measurements. There are a lot of other brands out there such as March Audio, BoXem, Audiophonics, VTV, etc that are all more or less the same as they have the exact same internals. Most have measurements available as well.
Purifi is an extremely efficient, neutral, class D that adds no faulty colorations or audible distortions to the frequency range. Class A and A/B used to have a transparency benefit but are wildly inefficient and require massive toroidal transformers, adding to the weight of those units. Now better performance can be had via Purifi and NCore 500 class D amplifiers, for a lot less weight and cost. The other benefit is it runs significantly cooler than any class A or A/B ever will due to the extreme efficiency.
I bought my speakers from SkyFi and they were absolutly amazing.
Hi Phil! Thanks so much and glad you are enjoying them :-)
How the heck do you connect this lot to the mains? Electric bill must be interesting. The current demand must dim the rest of the street.
My first thought 'fingerprint magnets'😉 and this equipment I imagine would be hidden
Even if it wasn't hidden, how much are you going to touch a power amplifier?
@@rumbepack some of them are not “power” amplifiers they are “integrated” with lighted VU meters. What’s the point? If hidden you can’t see anyways.
If it hidden then the lighted VU meters would interfere with the home theatre display.
Also while some are indeed power amps, the pre-amp has the large lighted VU meters. Seems a waste.
One other issue is pertaining to heat. Not good to stack those type of McIntosh amps. Large chassis or heat sinks often mean amp can run quite hot.
Part of the McIntosh appeal is the lighted blue VU meters so ideally they are used for home stereo listening where you can see not home theatre.
Super,Greetings from Poland.
For all the comments about electricity bill. Anyone who can afford a system like this is sure not worrying about their measly electric bill.
Lol for sure.
Very pretty
Very very nicely explained. Finally someone makes sense. I have a quick question for you, maybe you can help. I blindly bought Linn Klimax 350 passive speakers, but I am having a hard time to pair these speakers with proper amps. I am interested in McIntosh amps, however, I am not sure which ones to go with. Could you please suggest which possible amps I could go with. Thank you
Hi Ajay, happy to help. Check out our site and the Amplifiers section and then give us a ring to chat further.
That's insane....I like it...a lot!!
I'm waiting for the 'stress test' video - I mean they have to be tested to full power....
@@paulstubbs7678 yes please!!
HiFi heaven on earth
Now if only the lotto gods would bless me. That is some serious sound. I want it. :)
Yeah me too!
WOW is all that I have to say🎶
Unbelievable…I have a Mac Atmos system love it
without words
How many dedicated 30amp circuits are you using 😆 as always your videos a fun ! Thank you
amazing, but no match for my laptop speakers....
haha
So did you run 3 20amp dedicated lines to each one of the 2k power modules?
Are you going to ask for 90% of what they cost new like everything you sell?
You have convinced me to win the lottery!
Hahaha
Fricken beautiful. A dream of every home theater designer and builder. That would be me! Now all you really need is some worthy content from Hollywood! Sad. 99% of what I watch is vintage. 85% of what I listen to is also vintage. So that works out to a lot of cash for??????
Looking for a McIntosh Amp/Integrated with Airplay2 if that exists?
It’s enough power to run a rock concert! This is fun to watch but realistically, what kind of house would need all of this?
Is a personal nuclear power plant included in the price? 😂 if not the electric company's going to love you.
Wow if I start saving today I should be able to buy the hole setup in about 700Yrs
would have been interesting to see the cables for the set up
You know someone out there that wants to argue the lowest quality cables are better than higher quality cables.
@@LarsonChristopher Is very common, a "medio palo verde" set wired with twenty bucks cables... 😹😹😹
(medio palo verde means u$ 500k in porteño slang 🤓😹)
Definitely worth the money to watch Mad Max or Star Wars or the few BluRay discs available.Well there’s always nicely compressed Netflix,Disney channel,Nice for even the above average home.Love home cinema had it since the beginning but this is overkill. You won’t be watching the movies you’d be listened to them.
Since when does power equal great sound? It never has period.
Texas Lottp - Dollar and a dream🤠
That system was in a movie. However I can’t recall the title.
Maybe the TV Show Mr. Robot?
Are these before they sold the company name or after? Is the previous statement true?
Sorry Tex not sure what you are referring to.
@@SkyFiAudio I meant Macintosh, I thought they sold the rights to the name.
Absolutely subjective and highly doubtful
great having a great home theatre system when what's on the channels is fekkin repeat's or crap tv movies.
If I ever win the lottery
If the Grateful Dead still toured......this would be part of their rig.
ma12000 is the best ,you should have one
I would love to know what the owner of this system is replacing all that with. Very impressive 👍👍
If s/he were smart and wanted to join the 21st century probably a Trinnov AV processor with a couple of Buckeye Hypex 6-channel amplifiers all tucked away on a rack.
Looks like someone probably passed away
It was a Macintosh showroom, not an individual. He mentioned this within the first 30 seconds of the video.
Class D.
And on todays episode of " S*** I'll never be able to afford "....
Doesn’t look like it gets AM radio, so it’s not for me. But if it did…
2000 watts RMS? you would explode you eardrums
……O.O “Mother of God”
home theater? if it has 3 levels and 2000 seats I guess....
Man, I'm so poor lol
Is it arrogance or stupidity making cinema speakers shiny?
It's both and vanity most of all I think.
Pricing must be embarrassingly high, eh?
Putting a price tag on obsessive insanity.
It's crazy how this is called hifi!! It's 2021
the ultimate in conspicuous consumption
Not even close to cost no object. I have found, in practice, all 5 main speakers and amps should be the same. Subs matter and if circumstance allow, REL towers front and rear are about the best. Power should be isolated to the point that the whole room can be run on battery power. Not to mention grounding is important so your electrician should run a separate ground system for the HT while she does the wiring to your battery system or Stromtank.
I do not like the look of the McIntosh logo with the globe behind it, it reminds me of where in the world is Carmen Sandiego
CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU HAVE TO WHISPER.
I would use class D for everything except Left and Right channels. Go green.
Almost as bad as bitcoin mining when it's turned on.
Still waiting to hear a good sounding Class D amp.
@@VideoArchiveGuy Peachtree Audio has good reviews of their Class D amps.
Good reviews yes, a sound I like, no.
@@johnl2727 🤣🤣🤣
Who else is thinking this is where Western Civilisation starts coming apart?
That is not home theatre gear. These are professional gear for live concerts.
I know you're joking, but oddly it's just the opposite.
Most all pro audio amplification has moved to slim, lightweight, high power density designs.
Slim, 1.7" tall, 4 channel
3kw/channel @4Ω
5kw/channel @2Ω
There's also an 8 channel version, same output;
3kw/channel @4Ω
5kw/channel @2Ω
Eight channels!
Universal power supplies allow these little monsters can be fed with any voltage, single phase or 3 phase... from as low as 85v, up to 460v 3 phase.
They exhibit a damping factor minimum of 5000@20hz!
$15k each and worth it.
As a FOH engineer, the trend towards lightweight high speed designs is nice.
Back when I handled all my own gear, the shit weighed a ton.
Nowadays, it's lightweight and crews handle it for me!
@@FOH3663 Crown is a good example.I used to have a D 150 a and an IC ? Preamp. Made in USA. Solid and heavy . Their pro gear now is light and powerful But Made In china I believe to maximise profit. Something got to give. DC amplification too.
@@artyfhartie2269
Good points
But I believe Crown's best stuff is made in the US.
Much or all of their mid-level Pro-sumer amps are from overseas, and many of those still offer a lot of performance.
@@FOH3663 I don't think Crown make their gear in the USA anymore but I could be wrong. I love the feel and look of the made in the USA one. The best.Remember the D300? And what about that preamp they madeback in the 70s! They also made some rugged ES loudspeakers. More for studios.
This is for rich people who have more money than they know what to do with! Far too much overkill for the sake of it, also you would need a massive room for this system inc all the speakers , for average room a simple system is all you need. Ive got a Onkyo reciever into Audio Note valve amp into Kef reference 104 speakers and Kef surrounds, do not even need a centre as quality is high enough and for movies and concerts this blows far more expensive kits into the dust!
That set is freaking massive! Full of the most refined craftmanship, the highest engineering, the best materials and finishing! The most stupidly expensive thing that a stupidly flamboyant opulent rich can buy just to satsfy his egolatric bad taste. Simply too much for an HT, pornographic...
What a joke
you mean your comments?
Yuk...
Thats ridiculous all you need is 7 2.4k carver amps
All you need does not exist. Nothing is ever enough.
No, just a bunch of Class D car amps. $49 each.
@@AbsoluteFidelity Well, we've certainly had enough of your comments.
@@NeverTalkToCops1 no ones talking to you
@@AbsoluteFidelity Do your research before you yap!
Utterly absurd!
Oh god McIntosh… what a rip off! My 2.3 Watt SET sounds less colored than many of my friends McIntoshes costing 10X as mine.
this equipment is wasted on home theater
Amazing workmanship yes! But advertising as hifi!! False information!!!
what is your problem?
Wow!! First of all it does suck in the audiophile world its a joke. But to advertise this for people who cant afford it 🤔 wow!! & on top you called it hifi 😃 macnwhat? 😆😁😄😃 never heard a hifi macnwhat yet 🤔 😃😅🤣😂
Complete overkill don’t like this….
